|
on my subway ride to school i saw the very tall 'america's next top model' fatima (nyc celebrity sighting #296) transferring at times square somewhere. got to school and dealt with health insurance shit and then bought what i think are all my books for next semester... at a total of $500... for FIVE books... for five USED books!!! WTF!?! on my subway trip home i was in the same car with the very bearded and very talented mandy patinkin (nyc celebrity sighting #297), who was hard to miss since he radiated che and 88 keys and inigo montoya. then johnny and i met up with hilary and becky in union square to see 'the house bunny,' which was bad and sad since i wanted it to be a funny bunny movie but instead it was for 12-year-olds. johnny and i walked back to my hood and who should be eating outside of bread but oft-nude 'the dreamers' actor michael pitt (whom i've seen before). after seeing some girl with my same sonic youth tote as me, johnny and i met paulgina for pho and then went back to my place gina-less. we stepped back outside and right there out my door were idiot sia (whom i've seen before) and her boyfriend jd samson (whom i've seen before), both being drunk and loud. we went to santos to try to see alan braxe but there was a cover and so instead we went uptown to the ritz, where johnny fell in love with 'when i grow up' and 'american boy.' we went back downtown again to give happy ending a shot and it turned out to be really fun with bearded gays galore including gallerina and dj nita making a huge comeback in my eyes by throwing down c+c music factory's 'just a touch of love (everyday),' nightcrawlers' 'push the feeling on' and a remix of mariah's 'make it happen.' earlier in the night i threw out my old pillow and later in the night i watched the most satisfying double eviction in 'big brother' history. |

carie got into yet another accident in the morning, this time with a rental car? i think it's cuz she went straight to work and the gym, like, ONE DAY after having a concussion or something? my hand joints hurt a little from so much google-readering. did more sping cleaning. ate mapo tofu and chicken from the place down the street that doesn't have brown rice. took a deep, deep nap (i've been doing that a lot lately?). darwin and shane ccame over to eat domino's 7-7-7 deal and watch my stupid husband keith get booted off 'project runway' and me win 'shear genius' and bill clinton say stuff at the democratic national convention. |

jogged. cleaned shit at home. ming and i got banh mi at paris and then paul and johnny came over to watch the first two episodes of the new season of 'the hills' and we laughed at things. then they left so i could blast and then i met up with johnny and paul at beige, which was, as usual, lame (i realized i only go there for the potential of massive celebrity sightings? and not the stupid crowd?). got home and watched hillary speak at the democratic national convention. |

This week I'm as busy as a bee who's really busy!
Last night and tonight its DJ'ing at the sassy yet classy Eagle bar. Come say hi.
Tomorrow night is my super insano-party at McLeod Residence called "Pants". Would you like to see my lovely flier I made for it? Yes, you would.
Friday I am going to check out the big video game convention downtown, which should be a hoot and a half, then I'm DJ'ing at Purr in the eve.
Then Saturday night I am going to be playing at the next GO GO BANG BANG party at the Baltic Room... ya know, the party with the gogo dancers from last year? That'll be another few hoots.
I barely have any time left in August to rest! |

it was my half birthday and i think katie's anniversary (?) and, scarily, carie got into a car crash in the morning and got a concussion but otherwise she's okay but sadly the zipperella car is, like, totaled or something? in the morning i had a doctor's appointment on campus for immunization things and then i ran to the big lecture hall thingy for the kick off of class orientation. there were talks about the program and health insurance and financial aid and we split off into groups to eat free bagged lunch and i met lots of people (!!!!) but more guys than girls cuz i think the girls didn't like my mustachioed fashions or it didn't click that i was a gay or something. i heard the news about carie on my walk to the open bar/free pizza afterparty thrown by the pre-med student group and so i was too shocked to go in. subwayed it to flushing to meet darwin for the first night of the u.s. open. saw jelena jankovic versus coco vandeweghe (zzz) and james blake versus donald young (j-block is hot!) and a cute opening night event that had fireworks and forest whitaker and all the winners from past u.s. opens live and in person including roddick and the williams sisters. spotted the one and only anna wintour (nyc celebrity sighting #294) and the attention-obsessed paula abdul (#295) in the crowd (both count as celebrity sightings since they were in the crowd whereas roddick and the williams sisters and the rest of them don't since they were out in the field on display). was surprised by how vertical the arthur ashe stadium is and how quiet (at first) and bitchy/snobby (as the night went on) tennis sports audiences are. |

got up late. jogged. my dad got a job in irvine? got oatmeal concoction supplies at whole foods. rocked my mustachioed german lesbo look all day. on my way to josh's i ran into lourdes's short dada carlos leon (whom i see everywhere!) walking with the leggy blonde model i always see him walking with along with her dog, this time going east on prince at mott. he noticed me noticing him and covered his face. josh and i drank champagne while watching the amazingly crazy closing ceremonies of the olympics in beijing and i chowed down on a mcdonald's southwest salad. then i went home. |

i applied for a boston terrier named jasper last week. the woman finally got back to me today saying that my application looked good but that she was disturbed that i gave my dog back to the humane society. it took a lot of restraint on this monday morning not to email her back and tell her to fuck off. i carefully wrote the response, i just would think that someone dealing with fostering animals would know how a difficult situation like that could happen.
blah.
in other news, the woman from the official boston rescue called me on saturday saying she had a little guy named henry i could look at. the problem is that since were going on vacation this week its just bad timing. too bad too since henry is the best name ever.
i sat on the couch and watched the new fantastic four cartoon for four hours yesterday. i want more days like that. |

passed both pre-physics and pre-chemistry. barack obama chose joe binden as his running mate and announced it to everyone via text message (yay BamBi '08!). jeff's plane from sfo to chi caught on fire or something and had to make an emergency landing and so he's still alive. ate spaghetti and meatballs and then a few hours later got hungry again and ate mapo tofu with chicken from the place down the street that doesn't have brown rice. photos gradually leaked online from God's first tour stop in cardiff and the whole thing looks totally shitted. darwin came over and we watched the stupid men's olympic marathon before going to benny's for late dinner. i had chicken fingers and we texted each other about the table of gays next to us that included a young hottie doctor, a fat but cute mexican, and and old man. we subwayed it to williamsburg where we dropped in on paul for an impromptu karaoke session of 'throb,' 'if,' and the song i've been waiting to do for years, 'i'll be your shelter,' amongst others. darwin and i left to sugarland where every third song was an awesome '90s dance throwback and i made out with some guy in a corner for a little bit before going home alone. |

ate oatmeal concoction and watched the olympics. johnny extended his trip to berlin cuz of pleasure and hilary had to cancel her trip to cancun cuz of work. went to the columbia health office to deal with getting immunization clearance for the volunteer job but kinda got the runaround? then i went to my old doctor's office and they lost my recent blood test results or something? met josh at benny's, where i've been loving the $5.50 chicken fingers (they're huge!). we walked back to his place and met up with his joe and then daniel and alex came over and we listened to '90s dance music and watched the gays dive in the olympics and then cabbed it to sugarland which was dead and metro which was okay. they left and i ran into an old coworker at sugarland again and outside of easten bloc some guy asked me what my name was and told me i had nice legs (he was with a group of guys and he had a tie on so i was scared) and then later at boiler room someone said he liked my mary's shirt. |

jogged. met hilary's becky at pho and then she had rice to riches and i had pinkberry and we sat in the park across the street and talked. then i walked up to my fabulous $12 russian lesbo haircutters on 7th (running into former coworker aj, robert richards, and the 'rw/rr challenge: fresh meat' gay ryan (whom i've seen before) on the way) before walking over to the apple store on 14th. there i cruised two germans using computers across from me and got cruised by some older gay and some scruffy gay but of course nothing came of any of it. then barbara appeared and we had a pomtini at cubbyhole before meeting shane and darwin at benny's. we all got wine and went to kathy's cocktail party and talked politics and fashion and then sharwin and i subwayed it uptown to the ritz, where we danced to old-school God and new-school God and katy perry and the pussycat dolls. prince william was there too. |

got mapo tofu w/chicken at the chinese place down the street that doesn't have brown rice. applied for private loans and it was scary doing so. got my final grades and as was both expected and unexpected i did better on physics than on chemistry. now i'm waiting for my pass/not pass grades to come through. they should be fine. darwin and shane and barbara came over to watch the drag queen episode of 'project runway' and some of the olympics and we got domino's 7-7-7 deal and drank wine. |
