This semester I am taking a web-design class, which consists of nerdy boys who haven't got over their acne and have probably never heard of life without World of Warcraft (not that I'm judging). Then there is me.
I tell you this, because I just got done doing that homework, and it struck me how I am the only person in the class who didn't know all the material before-hand. *sighs*
And...and...I know I've said this 100 times, but I AM VISITING IOWA. Angie and I are looking at plane tickets every day, so I can try and snag a super cheap one. I haven't been there in more than two years, which is so strange to me. When people ask where I from, I say Iowa without thinking about how I don't really live there anymore. I'm so excited to go!

My uni gets a week long break for Thanksgiving, and yours truly is going to use it to go to Illinois with some friends. During this lovely trip I will be stopping in Ames for a day. This is FOR CERTAIN this time...unless the weather is bad.

Like Fratzke, I was also planning to say something today. I don't really know what I am going to say though considering hers was insightful, and mine was just going to be a rant.
I really do consider this the end of an era for me. At first I thought Harry Potter was stupid. On the first Harry Potter cover he looked like an ugly boy with a towel tied around his neck, and I thought I was above reading something like that. Little did I know my senior year of HS I would be asking the vice principle with Susan and Sarah if we could start a Harry Potter club....And who would have guessed I had to close the 6th book for hours after I read Dumbledore died, because I was so upset?
Anyways, I'm super excited!!! I won't be posting what I think of the book or anything about what happens in it, so don't be afraid to read my posts.

Not to have a Harry Potter overdose, but...

Most of my family is re-reading through the Harry Potter series before the last book. It isn't rare to walk into the family room only to see everyone with their nose stuck in a Harry Potter book. It'd be funny, except it meant I had to buy a couple new ones so I could read them, too!

Anyways, one of my little brothers just came over to me and said, "Chris, I bet I know something about Harry Potter that you don't!"
"Like what?"
"I bet you don't know what spell summons the dark mark!"
"What? You mean Morsmordre?"
"Damn it!"

and then he kicked the wall and left.
We are a pathetic family, I think.

This is Sam's idea. I got tagged by him, and I actually did what I was tagged to do. This is a first; it is also probably a last :P

1.) I still sleep with the pink blanket I was given when I was born. Get over it.

2.) I drink straight from the milk carton. No sissy glasses for me.

3.) I HATED Mock Trial more than life itself. I was only in it for you guys, and I didn't want to miss out on the memories :).

4.) I have the song Vanilla Ice memorized simply because Mr. Kruise (the Chem student teacher) did, and it was so dorky that I wanted to be dorky and know all the lyrics, too.

5.) Regardless of my strong aversion to most pinks and jewelry, I am SUCH A GIRL. (This still surprises people...)

6.) The week before he died, Stephen asked me if he could copy a really large physics assignment from me. Of course I let him, but I still wonder why the crap he cared about getting his hw turned in, since it really didn't matter!

7.) I was always jealous of Chris Johnston for being funnier than me. Still am.

8.) 90% of the time I eat with my left hand. I don't know why.

9.) Despite my rather large personal bubble, I LOVE cuddling. For the past year I've only been cuddling with Ang and Tessa, but they aren't too bad at it...

10.) This one might ruin me. My favorite word in the world is technically a french word.

Prejudice sucks.

For some reason I always follow who will be trying to run for president in 2008. One of these people is a VERY moderate Republican named Mitt Romney, who was governor of Mass last year. He reformed health care in his state in an revolutionary, creative way. He erased a $3 billion budget deficit and made a $1 bil surplus and made a new scholarship system- WITHOUT raising taxes. He has actually proved to be a competent politician (yes, that's apparently possible :P)
Now, before I go on, I want you to understand that I actually like McCain better, and I'd vote for him over Romney.

So Romney sounds like almost a good candidate, right? (except to all you straight Democrat voters) Well, he will never make it. Not even close. Why? He's Mormon. In a recent poll, 43% of Americans said they would NEVER vote for a Mormon no matter what.
I guess I thought our country had learned our lesson about looking down on other people for negligible things, and we had started looking at people on an individual basis.
Apparently I was wrong.
Vote for a person because of his or her politics, not the religion.

On another note, today I was walking to class and I thought of a rather interesting question. If it gets really really cold out, can the water in your eyeballs freeze over? I hope not.

I was at the dentist today. I was sitting there waiting for my turn to get my teeth violated when the dental hygienist came out. She walked right up to my two brothers and me and said, "Which one of you is the oldest?"
My brothers are 14 and 11, and they look it.
