Book One is getting closer and closer to completion. Right now, I've only got one painting left to do and then finish the vignettes. Speaking of the vignettes, I think it's time I shared what I've got so far. Last night I completed the last vignette for chapter five. Emma Watson Sighting! [09 Oct 2008|07:09pm] harry_potter [butterbeergirl] Hi mods, sorry if this isn't allowed, but I got to see Emma Watson today at Yale University! She's in the US looking at colleges (my friend at Harvard said she was seen in campus tour groups there a couple of days ago), and sure enough, I walked right past her in the Berkeley Dining Hall at Yale University. Had to do a double take. But yeah, apparently she's considering some pretty top American universities! Which is strange, because for some reason I thought she was enrolling at Cambridge...any insight? I did get to speak with her very briefly, she was with her Admissions-Office-assigned tour guide when I glimpsed her in the dining hall, but looked very low key, very comfortable, and stopped really quickly to say hi to some people who finally realized that it was really her and were waving enthusiastically across the dining hall. Very strange, though, because technically she's the one visiting us! But seriously, you can't get any closer to Hogwarts in the U.S. than at Yale. Good taste, Emma, v. good taste. Quote from student in the updated blog of the Yale Daily News: Saw her walking around with one of the head tour guides, and now she's in the admissions office having an interview. Once I muster the courage (read: creepyness), I'll take pictures from the bushes or save her from being run over by a bus or something. Ha. I'm a Slytherin student and I have the shoes, stockings, shirt and sweater all taken care of, but what I need to know is how to make a robe! If you have any websites with distinct steps and/or patterns on how to make a robe that would be fabulous. People in school have been talking about sighting her at Starbucks and around campus but I haven't seen her yet (despite my constant vigilance). Earlier yesterday, she was visiting Harvard (it was all over the news: http://www.thecrimson.com/article.aspx?ref=524489). It would be nice if you could answer some questions, it would really help me in the work. it is understood that the whole thing is different for Russia and other countries and i'd like to compare the nowadays situation. so, we all are the part of this LOTR community... but what is it actually, how it works? can you tell me a bit of being a tolkienist in your country? do people meet each other and talk about Arda? do you fight on swords or do archery? do you have singers who would (except the movie-music) sing basicly of Arda? do you organize so called clubs to talk, train, celebrate fests of Arda?!! and the most interesting for me: do you, fans, write yourself anything connected with Arda - poetry, songs, prose, screenplays, fanfics, big works continueing or rewriting the story of Middlearth? any commentaries or discussions? or only pics being drawn? are there any people who spesialize on such writings? so you see, i need a good introduction in the Tolkienistic subculture! Marshmallows and underwear [08 Oct 2008|12:24pm] photobooths [braless_cup] My little sister and I bought some marshmallows and a three pack of underwear. When we went to the photo booth we decided to utilise them as props. This particular machine was quite old and tried to eat the strip before it even came out. We had to stick our hands up into the hole and yank it out. Hence some grubbiness and the melted edges. I have an extensive collection of photo booth strips, check them out on my deviantart!
