Physical Description: Long red hair, unkempt or with small braids, gets whiter/white stripes as she wolfs-out. Hazel-green eyes. Rather slender, Ginger does have a good core of muscle that belies her teenage-girl status.
Ginger has a rather love-hate relationship with her body: she enjoys the attention it gets her but after years of being ignored and thought a freak by schoolmates, breasts and hips have affected an awkwardness in how she carries herself. There are healed claw marks running along her right shoulder and upper chest area, and a knife scar running down the palm of her left hand. As a wolf Ginger is large and white with a terrifying muzzle and bloodthirsty glare.
Ginger wears layers, baggy sweaters, tight shirts, hoodies, and tight jeans. It has to do with an inner temperature that won’t regulate and a need to hide and be seen at the same time.
Personality: Abrasive, cruel, sarcastic, hypocritical, vulnerable: like most teenagers Ginger is a contradiction in terms. She had little use for others until puberty hit so there is a combination of a desperate need for attention and an inner rage that she can't stand people in general (who are obviously not worth her fucking time!). Ginger really doesn't know how to make friends, her sister Brigitte the only definite in her life and that relationship never needed that much work in Ginger's opinion--just the odd reminder of suicidal promises to keep B in line.
Strong points/Skills: Ginger will stab someone in the back and worry about the guilt later as the number one priority in her life is herself: survival is huge. Ginger is manipulative and young which could lead those very few unaware of her character to help her out. When it comes to a fight though, Ginger isn't afraid to throw a good hard punch--or several as the case may be. She's not afraid of getting physical. She had great stamina despite her habit of smoking and is a decent--if not obsessive--lacrosse player. As a werewolf Ginger is very strong physically and has no moral compass to guide her, though she only changes at the full moon. Her wounds heal faster than a humans and she has an excellent sense of smell.
Weaknesses: Ginger has a big "If your not with me, your against me" complex, and because of this she goes from the furthest extremes of loving and hating (as seen with her sister Brigitte). She's not entirely friendly and wants everything her way so people will probably be alienated/not be inclined to help her out. Fear, blood, hunger, sex: these are all triggers for Ginger and can either lead to a simple freak out or to attempting mass disembowelment. Silver weakens her as does monkshood. As was seen in the movie, there are lots of ways to kill a werewolf. Destroying her heart and/or brain are musts though.

The eldest daughter of Pam and Henry Fitzgerald, Ginger grew up a social outcast with only her younger sister Brigitte for companionship. This didn't mean that Ginger was a victim by any means, the redhead simply preferred to have others do her bidding all the time and devoted Brigitte was the only one around to fulfill that requirement. Also she like their games of mutilation better than other ones. Like hopscotch. Their little town of Bailey Downs was a disappointment of mass proportions and Ginger and Brigitte ended up making a pact (something properly dramatic and macabre to fit into Ginger's narrow, selfish worldview) that they would leave town or kill themselves by the age of sixteen.
Underneath all the bravado and animosity, Ginger did care for Brigitte in her own possessive way, believing that only the sisters could ever understand or love one another, and thus after bully Trina Sinclair pushed B into the remains of a dead dog Ginger and Brigitte decided to get revenge. This led to the sisters being out in the woods late one night and Ginger being attacked by a werewolf. At first all of Ginger's physical changes (healing, chest hair, etc.) were attributed to the onslaught of puberty, or "The Curse" as they called it, and Ginger stuck with this idea for as long as possible, accusing B of being jealous when her sister tried to get Ginger to face that something was terribly wrong.
Things gets worse after Ginger agressively persues and basically rapes their classmate and local jerk Jason McCardy, killing a dog on the way home to ease the ache inside her that screams for violence. It's then that Ginger agrees to some outside help, leaving the details to B, who convinces local drug dealer Sam Lemche that Brigitte herself has been infected to order to find a cure. It didn't help that the eldest Fitzgerald had grown a tail either. They try silver in the form of a navel ring but this does little to help, her anger only increasing especially at the sudden appearance of Trina at their home.
Ginger toys with Trina, cruely telling Brigitte it's all her fault this is happening (because B's become really annoying about this whole werewolf thing and why is she looking to someone like Sam for help?!), but the terrified Trina takes things into her own hands...and ends up slipping, hitting her head, and dying on the Fitzgerald's kitchen floor. The sisters hide the body in the backyard, B explaining to Ginger that she can't go out anymore.
It was after this incident that New Horizons showed up for their own kind of fun.
Author's Notes:While I'm taking Ginger from a point before she transformed fully into a werewolf I'm taking the standpoint that she does and can transform back and forth by the appearance of a full moon.
