Hi, I know I've been absent. I'm pretty much sure most of you have lost patience at this point. But for those that haven't, I haven't totally given up on this story. It's just that with school I don't have much time to write this. My writing energies have recently been redirected to my thesis. But I'll gradually get it done. No promises on the time, though. Keep 296 at the back of your mind. I'm going to try to work on an update this summer. |

Okay. I know I said I'll post an update...and I will. Just not now. I'm half-way through the next chapter and it's taking longer than I thought. I'm really very very very sorry to everyone who stuck with me through this. The next semester started and things just got busy again. On top of that my finace had surgery, so life's been a bitch again.
I think it's for the best that I don't rush myself. I want 296 to be a good story, not rushed, not half-assed. So I'm taking a hiatus until June. However, I will keep working on the story and if I get a good chapter, I will be posting. So check back occasionally and I PROMISE I'll post chapters regularly during the summer (June - Sept). Maybe even finish the story!
I'm sorry. I really thought I could do it, but things just got busy. Thank you so much for sticking with me this long.

Hi all! Many of you have emailed me and commented on both LJ and FF.net asking about my whereabouts and I'd like to say sorry for the one year unexpected hiatus. Life caught up with me and I've been extremely busy at college. But I'm back! And 296 is officially off hiatus. I plan to start writing again soon and hopefully have an update a month (so not as often as it was before). Thanks so much for all your concern and I'm really really sorry about disappearing for a year. I'm perfectly okay and hopefully will be back soon with an update. (For those that care, 296 is only half-way finished at this point).

First of all, I want to say sorry to anyone who saw this on their friends page and was hoping for an update on 296 or a new fic. I usually don't write personal stuff on here, but I just really feel like I need to dump all this baggage somewhere. This is just a "what's going on in my life" thing that you can feel free to disregard or read considering how much time you're willing to waste.
Okay, so I'm really happy. Perky, like. And that's rare for me. My roommate's a slut, but a nice one, so no issues. I'm living in a dorm that's exclusively computer/engineering majors, so there are 100 guys and about 20 girls. It's the best dorm on campus apparently (we get our own private bathrooms, and second year onward, we get two-room suites so that we each have a room all to ourselves). We have the best food on campus. And basically, we feel special and our heads are really bloated with all the jealousy our not-so-priveleged-friends show. I've never been away from home before. The only time I tried was a two-week camp about two summers ago. I came home the second day in tears. But I feel very proud of the fact that I haven't cried yet, and it doesn't look like I will...from homesickness, at least.
I just came back from a meeting of the campus GLBTQA (Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender Queer/Questioning Ally) club/association/thingy. I met so many interesting people that I'm literally ecstatic. The good news? It looks like I'll make some great friends. The bad news? I'm officially infactuated with a gay guy. Yeah. Nice, huh? How come I can never meet straight/bi guys that perfect for me? *sigh*
I feel so...conflicted right now. On one had, I'm excited that I met so many great people with whom I'll probably become very good friends. On the other hand, there's the gay guy. *sigh* *sigh* *sigh* Sorry, I just feel like sighing. This always seems to happen to me. Every guy I like is either (a) gay; (b) already in a permanent/very committed relationship; or (c) not interested. *sigh*
Oh well. At least I've met some really nice people. I'll stop ranting and boring you now. I just really needed to get that off my chest. |
