Hi, I'm Dawn. For thousands of years I use to be a happy little glowing greenish energy thing. But back in the fall of 2000 (August 24th, 2000 to be specific), some idiot monks in the Czech Republic decided to make me a 14 year old girl, so I could be really, really worried about an evil Hellgod name Glory cramming me into a lock. Thanks, monks.

So, nobody knows who I really am. Not the real me. No one understands. Cause no one has an older sister who's a slayer. Making things even worse, nobody else used to be a shiny key of doom. So my life is cleary anything but normal.

As of late, I live with my older sister Buffy. My friends at the moment consist almost entirely of her friends. So yeah, I really need a real life. Although getting to hang out with a hot vampire like Spike is always cool. So guess things could be worse.

Anyway for more about the whole key thing, bellow is what I know.

The Key was a mystical ball of green energy which was created thousands of years ago to open the gates between different dimensions. If used improperly the key could break down the walls seperating all realities, basically throwing the Universe into Chaos and Darkness. Therefore was important for the key to stay out of the hands of anyone that would misuse it. So, the monks of Dagon hid the Key from Glorificus, who wanted to use it to get back to the hell dimension she was expelled from. They used Buffy Summers slayer blood to make the Key into a human girl called Dawn and sent her to be protected by Buffy in Sunnydale, CA. They changed the memories of everyone in Buffy and Dawn's lives that made it seem as if Dawn had always been Buffy's little sister. Only those “outside reality” (such as crazy people or clairvoyants) can see the Key’s true nature. Although Buffy was able to identify her as part of a spell by going into a deep trance. Despite Buffy and her friends best efforts to keep Dawn's secret, Glory eventually found out. The Key was used to open the portal by the crazy Glory or more specificially her very creepy minion Doc in May of 2001. The ritual would have resulted in Dawn's death, or the unleashing of countless demon dimensions on earth. Neither Spike or Buffy was able to stop Glory's follower Doc from starting the ritual. But by sacrificing her own life Buffy was able to stop it in time to save Dawn and the world. But luckily for Dawn, Willow was able to use powerful magicks to bring Buffy back from the dead 148 days later. Buffy and her chosen family again tries to protect Dawn from any future dangers that may arise.
