of the best people
in the world.


Sitting around talking and eating with good people all day long while listening to good music is not the same as doing nothing.
There is a distinct difference between the two.
I definitely require those laid-back evenings with the loves of my life.
In other words, today there was a cookout chez moi.
I got to see Maria, Mandy, Cynthia, Amanda, Leslie, Steve, Kathleen, Nixon, Shauna, Jon, Karis, Danae, Orlando, Jenny, Cameron, Sarah..plus a few other people.
We played a good game of who would you- throw off a cliff, shag, and marry- that included exboyfriends, Sufjan Stevens, various Johny Depp characters, and even Steve from Full Circle. What a laugh!
I never wanted to leave the hammock.
Seriously.
God was coming out of the clouds.
God was the clouds.

At one am, I left to drive the sleepy girls home...Cynthia, Mandy, and Sarah.
Then, Mandy and I decided that we had better things to do than sleep.
Which is why I just got home at 3 am.
It felt just like the good ol' Timmer Cottage get-togethers...only less spontaneous.

I love my friends.
I love having a group of people who don't get angry with me and who love me, not unconditionally, but enough to overlook the little flaws and silly misinterpretations.


I made four copies of Sufjan Stevens' Come On, Feel the Illinoise album tonight.
Hopefully I've created new Sufjan fans.

I don't ever call people. Especially since I don't have a cell phone anymore.

I think that I'm going to write a bunch of poems about saints.
I've got to get to work on that. It'll take a bit of research, but it'll be a fun way to pass the time.
