Help me! Oh, and a meme.

I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong with my sewing, but I can't figure it out. The stiches on top come out fine, but everything underneath is all over the place, as if too much thread was used. I'm pretty sure I have the Singer maching set up right, but I could be wrong. Looking for an online tutorial hasn't helped much. :[ Then again, I might not be looking hard enough. And I really, really need help with wigs, too.
Oh, and what the hell, a meme.
1. Add a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It’s actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I’ll assume you’re playing the game and I’ll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Non-spoilers for TDK

In case you haven't noticed, I've temporarily "upgraded" my LJ to Plus status.

Just so I can upload a shitty icon I just made on the fly.

Anyway, two things:

- Bale's presence was weaker in this film. His rasp still sucks. That's the ONLY BAD THING I CAN SAY ABOUT THIS FILM.

- Ledger's Joker just told Nichelson to EAT A DICK.

Film of the year. That is all.

Now, all shows for The Dark Knight at IMAX have SOLD OUT.

A political entry? UH OH!

I'm sure you all know well my opinion on this election year: it sucks. Neither of the favored candidates have exhibited any real ability of repairing the economy, much less lead this country. In light of that, I figured I'd share this with you:
http://larouchepac.com/news/2008/07/02/1932-video.html
Yes, it's decidedly anti-Empirical British, yes, it comes off heavy handed at times, and it does sound like propaganda, but it primarily serves as a history lesson, in which its backdrop mirrors our own current economic standing as a country. It's worth looking at, and I feel that it's very empowering.

Yeah, I sound corny, but you know what? Fuck it.

THE BOULDER IS CONFUSED

Truly, 2008 is the year of the Fighting Game.

I wish there were an entity I could pray to to bestow thanks upon for all the fighting games we're getting this year.

- Street Fighter IV has generated some more hype with ALTERNATE COSTUMES, so you know I'm happy about that. Super Street Fighter II Turbo: HD looks like it just might come out when it's supposed to. Tatsunoko VS Capcom looks surprisingly good, too! I mean, come on! Tekkaman and Alex are in it!

- The GG successor BlazBlue is getting not one, but TWO US loke-tests, with the possibility of more to come.

- The King Of Fighters 98: Ultimate Match and KOFXII may not be coming stateside any time soon, but they both look goregeous.

- Namco is slowly winning me over by re-releasing Soul Calibur 1 for the XBL marketplace. Soul Calibur IV doesn't look bad either, even though its new characters have left me kinda... wanting. But hey! That's what CaC is for.

I really can't see anything going wr- hey, what's this?

...

.....ok, maybe it's time to go back into RAGE mode.

WHAT THE HELL?! DAMN IT, OBATA, JUST BECAUSE YOU MADE DEATH NOTE DOESN'T MEAN YOU GET TO MAKE ALUCARD LOOK LIKE SHIT! AND WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH SIMON?!

-----------------

Hhhh.. ok. That's enough for now. Anyone busy this weekend?

You know, and I've been doing some thinking...

I don't really understand why it's so hard to find Count Chocula cereal around here in NYC. I mean, why did General Mills create Chocolate Lucky Charms, which is essentially the same thing, only with different marshmallows? Were they getting complaints that the Count was too scary? Or did they realize that something Irish was scarier because the Irish are REAL?

Food for thought. :P

Hey all. What good? Samo-samo with me.

Saw Zohan and Hulk in the past two days. I like Zohan, although parts of me are screaming in my head, saying I shouldn't. But it had puppies! AND George Takei!

Hulk, though, I liked. A lot. It's another movie everyone seems iffy on(some teenaged girl went into the bathroom saying it was the worst movie she ever saw, her friend/brother waiting for her in his MCR hoodie... she probably hasn't seen National Treasure 2. Or she did, and liked it. Fuck her anyway). However, it pretty much nailed the Bruce/Betty/General Ross dynamic. They picked the right actors this time. I love Jennifer Connely lots, but Liv Tyler blew her out of the water. And she's just a teeeeensy bit hotter, too.

The action was hit or miss, ranging from "HOLY SHIT DID YOU SEE WHAT HULK DID TO THAT SONICS EMMITTER WHAAAAAAAA", to "Wow, this fight with the Abomination can't be more boring." That brings me to Tim Roth, one of my favorite actors. He was weak in this. He fumbled with the dialogue, and he was only good when he was angry, which isn't a stretch for him. He needed more dialogue and a bit more fleshing out for his character. The monster design was lame, too. I really wanted some fins and scales. Still, when the movie was great, it was fantastic.

But next week. NEXT WEEK. You know what's coming.

Also, will someone PLEEEEEASE buy me a PS3? PLEEEASE. I'M TIRED OF HEARING HOW GREAT MGS4 IS AND NOT BEING ABLE TO PLAY IT.

Super SLAMWICH, or, "Why I think the PC gods hate me."

Even after a reformatting and reinstallation of its drivers, my VAIO is officially dead. Explorer refuses to run, and I simply don't know why. If it's a HD issue, why did everything else run fine until now? And I was REALLY looking forward to playing CoV, too. :/

Soooo... it's probably going to be a few weeks before I can actually scan some drawings and doodle in tegaki, and it will probably be a few MONTHS before I can get a new lappy. Bleeeegh.

In other news, I'm moving back in with Anna for about 6 months until she finds a roommate or moves out of that shitholeCanarsie. Not much else is going on except massive amounts of working out, getting some Solaris training, and supplies shopping. Oh, and a little Ninja Gaiden 2-ing Virtua Fighter 5-ing heeeeere and theeeere.

'sup?

I'm on my second consecutive week for working out, and I'm now at 234 lbs. Granted, only 2-3 lbs lost since I got back into it, but I'm not complaining. The results are there, more or less. Of course, the increased testosterone isn't helping me cope with a total lack of sex, so it may be time to start bar hopping. Or just keeping my eyes open. *shrug*

I shocked myself this morning by finally encountering my runner's high after 2 miles. I could have ran for another mile, but I'll save that for a more intense work out. Otakon's just over 2 months away, after all.

I've got some more drawings coming up this weekend; I still need to scan a good portion of my work, but... well, I'd need a scanner for that. Something to consider once I get my fed income tax return.

BTW, congrats to JORGAN, the TWO HEADED-BEAST which vows to (DESTROY US ALL!)*nauseum, for finally tying the knot. I heard there were many souls sacrificed and devoured was much dancing and drinking. Wishin' 'em the best on the road to global domination, and what not.

So... Wednesday = costume shopping + mailing out my broken DS(which I found, go figure)+ NA. Wonder if I should try working out again.

Weekend plans:
Aside from Saturday night onward, I'm free.

...wait, there's a con this weekend too? Fuck.

Getting back into the GROOVE ON FIGHT.

I've slowly been coming out of another one of my 2-week long funks. Hopefully, I won't be seeing another curve like this in a while.

In the mean time, I've got a friend I'd like for you to meet. )
In other news, the Otakon room is essentially all set for Friday and Saturday. Troytoy, tee, THE DRAGON, and I are down for those days. An extra person wouldn't hurt either, but we're trying to keep the numbers small. THURSDAY NIGHT, however, TEH DRAGON won't be able to stay, so if you're looking for a ONE NIGHT STAND(oh, baby!), you know who to talk to.

I figure my problem with women is that I want both sex and a friendship, but don't know where to start. Oh well.

Guess it's a bit late for this, but Happy Horny Werewolf Day. Good luck at Katsu, all.

You ever have one of those weeks where you blow money on nothing, lose track of work, and break your own phone after you slammed it on a desk, even though you were absolutely sure that you didn't use enough force to break it?

Or when you just feel like you can't pick up things with out dropping them?

Or you can't seem to talk without stuttering?

Or you attempt to cheer up a friend with a special gourmet pizza, only to realize at the last second that he/she is lactose intolerant?

Or when you go 3 & 1/2 hours early into work because your coworker asked for it, but they meant a day two weeks from today?

Or you think that you'll never, ever be able to closely connect with anyone ever again?

Or you realize that you're lazy, and that it's been 3 months since you started your new job, and you still haven't made a plan with your life?

Seriously, there is no suitable "facepalm"/"headdesk" icon to put how I'm feeling right now.

Vote.

Eyo, boys and goils.

The Superbowl Party was fun. Loved watching Brady getting raped. Was totally elated to see Manning do some excellent evasive maneuvers before throwing a 40+ yard pass. I hope Erin has another hang out, since it's been a while since I had that much fun.

I'm skipping Crunch today so I can vote in my district on the Island. I think I'm probably the only person on my FL who actually isn't voting for Obama.

Also, just finished Barkley: Shut Up and Jam GAIDEN. PC GOTY 2008. Don't really need to say more than that.

I also need sex.

Toodles.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey. Lookin' sexy today, Friend's List. I wonder what you've got under those hot pants.

...yeah, too creepy. But whatever.

Diet is rocky, but getting back on schedule, soon to be followed by good school habits. Art? Maybe if the stars align(or if I can reset the fucking 30 PS trial period AGAIN....UGH).

Recent happenings and hanged-outeds:
- spent the previous week doing nothing but overtime. Big payoffs in the future, but I have to keep a keen eye on a coworker who doesn't seem to want to pay attention to anything.
- Weekend wise, I spent the majority of it in Victor's pad, visiting online haunts such as somethingawful.com, and talking about southern Staten Island girls, particularly how terribly empty the space between their ears usually is.

Upcoming happenings?
- going to the gym tonight with anna. I'm going on 0 sleep and on a gut full of mcnuggets. I think I'm ready.
- Thursday, i've got a doctor's appointment. Hoping I won't be diagnosed with Phimosis. Otherwise that means circumcision. Which means ouchy.
- Friday, Vic will help me get mah tee vee from web2zone and haul it back to the island. I may want to reschedule, because I can't imagine the commute being any fun, unless it's at night.
- Saturday, arcade tournament at chinatown fair. depending on work schedule, I plan to go to this and win. If that fails, get morbidly drunk and hit on slutty fire hydrants.
-Beyond that... I'll see Rambo. Eventually.

Bye.

S'been a while.

For those who don't already know, I've been renting out a room by the ferry for the past 2 weeks, and, aside from not being able to run the dryer and the washer simultaneously, I've got 0 complaints about it. My roommates have been cool, and I'm getting a lot for my rent.

I've also gotten into exercising again, and it's looking promising so far. Any gym that has body wash and other toiletries already in stock is a good gym indeed.
Even with exercise, I've been feeling too up and down lately. Socializing regularly is slowly helping that, but it's too easy to slip up and misinterpret people. Thinking on it, that's been a habit of mine since I was a kid. I'm either too gullible, too cynical, or too short on temper to really hold a conversation 50% of the time. It would be nice if it were only ONE of those three things that were recurring, but like I said... up and down. More on that later. Still not drawing or studying enough. I'm just going to throw my hands up on that one.

I've been to 2 surprise b-day parties recently: a party for my friend Rob's boyfriend, and [info]asuka_inferno's. Both were short but fun. As for future plans, I really should be making some, but I digress.

Hey. It's been a while. How're you? I'm pretty busy, honestly.

- I recently got a job in the city that pays $5 more an hour than my old job, with OK hours. It seems I left just in time too, since the printer died, and my boss was trying to screw over an operator(AND they still didn't give me vacation pay, but whatever). I like the new job lots, but something tells me I could have pried for an extra dollar or two. I digress...

- I'm currently taking online courses(which I should REALLY be studying for, since I'm nearly a WEEK behind when I promised myself I wouldn't be).

- I'm keeping an eye on the renter's market, since I still plan to move out soon. I'm looking for room shares on Staten Island near the ferry and above mid-Island. Bay Ridge, Brooklyn is ideal, since I could potentially get a car and have a parking space, and be close to home. I'm trying to keep it reasonable within my means of income(estm. $1750/m with the new job), so I'm eyeing places within the $450-$550 range, and boy, are they slim fucking pickings. I do have a max price range, but I won't get into that right now.

As far as upcoming stuff goes:

- next week, 11/29/07 at 5pm, I'm going to Jim Hanely's for the Armory Wars signing. Claudio(he of Coheed and Cambria fame) will be there, so if anyone wants any signatures and other stuff, please let me know NOW.
- plans for NEC next weekend are up in the air. depends on how my schedule works out.
- the weekend after THAT, Dec 6th-9th, will be NYAF. I won't cosplay, but I do plan to go.

WoW tards and RPG twats can ignore this post. Or not. I don't care.

My baby is coming back to me.

I like the logo. It's not so much new edge as it's a variation of the classic, 'swooshing' logo. I'm willing to bet that the game engine will be 2d w/ 3d puppet animation ala Rumble Fish, only a lot flashier.

My dick's harder than adamantium right now, by the way.

Recap of the past week

Argh, forgot to wish [info]trishalynn. Hope you enjoyed Vegas!

THE BAD:
- my potential job couldn't hire because they're in the middle of contract renewal. I have to wait 3-4 weeks before the higher ups can actually approve my application. It's no scam, but.. it just really feels that way. The whole thing left me really fucking winded.
- current job is laughably unorganized, and I'm THISCLOSE to beating up random people.
- job recruiters calling me and not leaving ANY info via voicemail or e-mail. nice to know you have your client's best interests at heart, assholes.
- said job recruiters not giving me a salary quote. just because it says open doesn't mean I'm desperate, people.
- not being able to socialize because of appointments and sleeping in...
- losing track of my art due to my lack of cleaning...

THE GOOD:
- going to Digital Life this weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to socialize with some people, as well as other private events over the weekend.

BTW, I lost track of everyone's art requests (save Mandy's and Meg's. I'm getting on that. :P), so I'm asking y'all if you haven't gotten the art you requested, lemme know. I'm going to be doing some drawing and cleaning this week, so I figure now's the time to sort my shit out. Comments screened for the sake of privacy.

In case you haven't noticed, the inked pic meg is down, only because she went and colored it. Girl's a damn coloring marvel.

In other news, I'm worried I may have to miss Evo World for the 4th time, mostly because we're still dead set at 6 people right now. Karl's being a pain and not answering phone calls. Instead, he texts me, which sucks, since I don't have unlimited text messaging support.
Currently, plan B is to downgrade the room if no one else signs up with us. I talked to the others rooming with us about it, but noone is really reacting to that plan. I'd love to have a suite with 15 people in it, but at this point, it's just not realistic.

ABOUT FUCKING TIME, ISHIWATARI!

Apparently, since I can't save the large size version of the article, I can only link to it.
Guilty Gear 2? In 3D? And a non-fighting game? Hell, if it advances the plot(and it definitely looks like it does), sign me up for it. With the announcement of GGXXAC getting distributed officially in the USA, this could lead to many, many good things for a fan like me.

BTW, that's not Ky, that's SIN, the guy that's been on one of the XB360 skins when it was released in JPN. And his weapon is a flag. Possible ties to the Order Sol vs KY versus theme, Keep the Flag Flying? Knowing Daisuke Ishiwatari's affinity for weird song titles... who the fuck knows.
