Lets see... Work has been great. Last weekend I was at UMD which was a lot of fun. I love my friends. =)

Bisc and Russian are complete =). All my KRs(Knowledge Requirements) are going well. This past week was just a plain awesome week at work. Plus I'm developing new flight controller lessons on the Atomosphere Control Systems on the ISS!!! Thats awesome that I get to do that as a co-op!! Its something that will benefit the company for a long time. Super cool!

This weekend I went to the Rodeo Friday night. That was a lot of fun. I got to ride a mechanical bull!! I stayed on longer than anyone else in line!! The two guys collecting money and running the bull shook my hand afterwards and told me, "Way to go cowgirl" It took a lot to not laugh after they said that. Plus the part of the rodeo I saw was fun and Clay Walker was much much better than I expected. Saturday I went to a water park with a bunch of guys and then we headed off to the beach for a couple of hours. Lots a fun.

Basically TX is still great.
Now I just need to get all my UMD friends to move down here :p

What a fun weekend! Friday I went to a comedy show for free =) It was funny but everything is funnier when its free. Saturday morning Mallory helped me with some volleyball fundamentals. It was super fun and helpful but boy could I feel it the next day. I guess that means I'm gaining muscles... hopefully. After volleyball was Kemah!!! Kemah is a boardwalk/amusement park. Soooo.. much fun. They have one roller coaster called - THE BOARDWALK BULLET!!! It was soooo much better than I expected. Plus there were lots of other boardwalk rides. That was almost all day and then about 9:30 I headed over to Vienny's for a really odd movie about ping pong players. It was entertaining in a stupid way. We all hung out until about 3 am
Sunday was church and errands.
Tuesday: my presentation went really well and volleyball was tons of fun. We were nowhere close to winning but we had tons of fun.

Today is my last day of BISC and rock climbing. =)

Work is still amazing. I'm in the middle of BISC right now which is basically how they make sure the engineers they hire can actually teach what they know. Today my presentation of the Pressure Control Assembly went well. Hooray! All of my other classes are also great. They've been scattered through out the breaks of BISC. My favorite so far is definitely the Oxygen and Nitrogen transfer ops class. Its very mock up interactive and covers how we transfer the Oxygen and nitrogen from shuttle when its docked w/ the ISS. Cool stuff. Plus I'm almost done my intro to Russian and my pressure monitoring KR. Things are going along nicely at work.

Outside of work volleyball is going really well!! I'm by no means and expert volleyball player but I am definitely improving. Its rewarding, tons of fun, and I'm meeting a lot of people. Plus I'm becoming closer with a handful of the co-ops which is nice. I've also met tons of awesome people through Quarter Life. About 5 of us went to a Country and Western Dance Hall/Saloon. We danced, we played pool.... There were soo.. many people in the cowboy hats, big belt buckles, and cowboy boots. It was the stereotypical TX experience. Lots of fun.

Basically everything is going wonderfully. I'm pretty positive I want to work here after I graduate so thats awesome.
Other awesome news, I got a ticket to MD and back for $5 through a series of events so I'll be up in MD for March 8,9. That'll be awesome to see people.

Another great week at work plus fun after work. At work I started my pressure monitoring knowledge requirements, took my first PTT on how to use the ISS computer systems, took a class on reading procedures and task following, and a really cool class about all the O2/N2 transfers, supply chains.... really cool stuff. Plus my Russian is improving.

Tuesday I had volleyball afterwork. I'm still rpetty terrible but I'm improving. It was much more fun this week. Next week is our first game so that should be interesting.

**********************************************
So I never finished updating on Friday, thus here we go again. Wednesday, Liz, Jon and I watched the Duke vs MD b-ball game then hung out for awhile. That was fun. Thursday was amazing. I was greeted at work with a rose. =) All the co-op guys left the co-op girls roses. For dinner the Quarter Life guys made all the ladies a three course meal. It was very nicely planned down to the music. Valentines can't get much better than that while still being single.
This weekend was fun. Saturday we might've as well been swimming it was raining so hard. Thus no skydiving but still a fun weekend. Lets see... game night was fun. Zoo was awesome. There were lots of really cool people who went to the zoo. I need to make sure I hang out w/ those guys more. Afterwards I went.... SWING DANCING. Lots of fun. I'm not a huge fan of getting back late on a Sunday night so we'll see if I go again but I'm glad I've gone at least once. Fun times.
This week BISC (basic instructional skills course) begins. Plus my first volleyball game is tomorrow. I'll update at some point. Until then.. "Don't mess with Texas" =)

Work has been great. I love my job. I'm about to start my KRs (knowledge requirements) which should be really tricky. Lets see, since Monday. Well the launch was awesome. I saw it in IMAX!!! Pretty sweet. Plus this weekend I got to sit at a console and follow all the ECLSS data from the ISS, watch all the different cameras, and listen into the mission control loops. Pretty awesome.
Tuesday night was volleyball which was... interesting. I'm pretty terrible. Hopefully they'll put up with me long enough for me to improve dramatically. They say you get the most out of experiences when they are out of your comfort zone and boy is it out of my comfort zone. Afterwards I went to a datastore. Its where all the trainer prepare their consoles for simulations. Once everything is running properly the flight lead stores all the settings and data for the sim later in the week. This process takes several hours so if you are performing a 12+hr sim then the last thing you want is several hrs of prep before hand.

I don't feel like summing the rest of my week so lets just say it was great. Yay cool jobs.
Friday night was Stations of the Cross which are always nice. I really need to work on concentrating. Everything seems to be running through my head when I should be concentration on Jesus. Today I was a black jack dealer!! Super fun. St. Paul's Life Teen group held an event called Valentines in Vegas. They had amazing decorations and lots of gambling. It all started with dinner then out came the roulette tables, slots, black jack and texas hold 'em. The chips you won could be used to buy raffle tickets. They also had a silent auction. All the money was towards sending their youth to World Youth Day! How awesome. They had to've made hoards of money off the event.

Everyone I've met at St. Pauls has been great. They're a very huggy group which will take a little getting used to, but it'll be fine. Some of the men even kiss you on the cheak when they say good bye. That'll take a little more adjustment. I love the Quarter Life people. They are all awesome. Such a fun and active group. Plus they are all soooo welcoming. Its also a very nice side benefit that most of the parish is part of the space industry. Cool stuff.

Ok, I should get ready for bed. Fun night. =)

I had my first Russian class today. Should be good. We didn't really learn any today but it was a good overview of the course. Its only a month long but I should learn the alphabet and some Russian culture. Cool stuff.
Last week I had my first building 9 class! Building 9 houses all the mock ups. Super cool. Its like disneyland for space dorks. =) They also tested one of their new user lessons on me. I was a clueless Russian who didn't speak much english :p This week I am starting my Knowledge Requirements. Fun stuff.

Last week I went to the Rockets game on Tuesday with a bunch of co-ops. The game was ok but it was fun to head out there with the co-ops. Thursday I went to my first Quarter Life meeting. There was a speaker on the Eucharist =) It was a pretty awesome talk. Unfortunately St. Paul's bible study is at the same time as Quarter Life. I need to figure that one out.

This Friday my group went out to dinner for Cece's and Diedra's first certification. =) It was a lot of fun. Sunday I went to Troy's for the Super Bowl. Lots of fun.

I have more to say but I should get going to bed. I'm working from 8-5, volleyball practice 7-9, then showering and heading back to work to help prep for a gen sim until midnight.

Happy almost Fat Tuesday.

Job is still awesome. My coworkers are amazing. Friday was safety day. One day a year all of NASA stands still and devotes their time to safety. Since it was raining everything was moved to Gilruth. It was basically a carnival for profesionals w/o the rides but tons and tons of free stuff. =) One of my favorites is a funny head with orange hair that dispenses floss from its teeth. All morning we "weren't allowed to work" so we played with our safety day toys. I met some co-ops which is awesome and then got to play with different toys with some of the guys in my group. Then six of us went to lunch. Wow, they are crazy. Fun guys but crazy. In the afternoon I got a lot of reading done. =) Its such interesting material but it takes awhile b/c I really need to know all of it.

Friday night was my first co-op party. ummm... wow. Too many people in too small of place. I like talking with people and it was too loud to do that. I was completely over whelemed with all the people and I like people. Evidently the police also thought there were too many people b/c they broke up the party. Nothing too exciting happened Saturday. I found a pair of shoe for work and that took awhile. My box from home arrived so yay. Today I was at the gym for a long time and now I'm working on security paperwork. I'm going to try the life teen mass tonight at 6 so we'll see how that goes. I'll probably change soon and go food shopping. Yep.

Then its off to week 2 at work. So far I love work. Week number two here I come. Volleyball is Tuesday after work. That should be.... interesting. Very interesting. I'm sure lots of exciting things will happen at work and hopefully I'll meet people that I can have lunch w/ and hang out w/ after work/on weekends. Ok, time to plan my meals and go food shopping.

I love my job!!! Its so surreal. I have access to building 4, 5, 9, and 30.

4: My lovely cubicle is in 4N until they move my group to 4S next month. Nice area, plenty of space, and my group is awesome. I'm in the environmental controls and life support systems for the ISS training group. How cool!!

5: Where all the simulators are located (haven't been there yet)

9: The shuttle and ISS mock ups. Pretty awesome. I'm probably going to be working in there part of tomorrow

30: All of the mission controls and back up rooms.

Plus I'm now on a volleyball team.... that should be... interesting. I'm on one of the co-op teams in the NASA league. yeh... It'll help me get over one of my biggest insecurities - sports. Ok, anything athletic. Its not my cup of tea. I guess I'll get over that hurdle while I'm here. Even if I still stink when I leave, hopefully I'll be more comfortable with my athletic abilities.

Ok, off to relax a bit then start looking up contact info for more of my security paper work.

I'm super excited about work =)

Wow, I'm in TX!!! I arrived Thursday night. Friday I opened a bank account, moved into my appt, went shopping, and explored a bit. Saturday I bought a car, played tourist at Space Station Houston, and had dinner with someone my mom worked with several years before I was born that lives a little over an hour away. Today I went to mass, said bye to my mom, finally got my internet working (after several days of calling customer support), went food shopping, and have been sorting through things since. Crazy weekend. I loved Johnson Space Center during my tram ride tour. My first day of work is tomorrow! I'm super excited.

So my new eyes are going well =) I'm still seeing halos but thats been getting better. My vision should settle out and halos disappear as the swelling decreases. =)
I'm starting to get the butterflies about Houston. They are a mix of excitement, the desire to be there NOW, and a little bit of nervousness. New eyes, new city, a real job, my own appt, ... ok new almost everything. I'm super excited.
I leave Thursday morning and until then I'm:
- sorting through all my things
- packing (I can only take what fits in 3 suitcases)
- repacking
- figuring out what type of car I want
- figuring out utilities
- figuring out how to check out of SCC when I'm not in MD (whoops)
- spending quality time with my family
- sorting out furniture and such w/ my appt
- getting really, really excited =)

I may post again before leaving but most likely I'll post sometime during my 1st week at work.

Crazy, crazy, crazy....
I 1st learned of United Space Alliance when I was at space camp for my sweet 16. Now I'm working there... crazy. =)

I need to update more often. whoopss...
Lets see, I'll try to go in order. The end of the semester got really crazy. Busy, busy. My favorite class by far was dynamics. I loved that class. Shapiro went to slow for my liking but I really liked the material. Fun class and I loved working on the project. I ended getting a B in electronics which I was bummed about but considering he gives out almost 50% Cs and I had an upper B thats still good. Flight Software... I learned soooo much. The class I was worried the most about was amazing. I learned a whole lot and did extremely well in the class. Aerodynamics, I never liked the class or the prof so...its over. All my other classes were greats I can't complain too much. Balloon stuff went really well. All of the freshmen teams developed great experiments. Its so much fun working with them. I love explaining everything, encouraging them, and then watching them achieve. Plus I was in charge of the programming and electronics for the new xbees. The practical hands on experience was a lot of fun and I am now much more comfortable with electronics. AIAA is always fun. Unfortunately I was super busy this semester so I didn't complete my ambassadors requirements but I had a blast when I did help with events.

On a different note, I have amazing friends. =) I've realized it more and more through out the semester but especially after realizing they wont be with me next semester. My apartment threw me a surprise going away party and it was a blast. I love those girls and love my friends. They all made post it notes and stuck them all over my appt. It was really cute. At one point during the party I just sat back and took in the awesomeness of the people around me and how much I loved spending time with all of them. One on one and as group. =) They are pretty amazing. I'm going to miss them tons in the spring. I love my friends.

So on to winter break. I don't feel like talking about the rest of the semester in detail. My class are summarized above anyway. After exams I stayed a couple of extra days in CP to hang out with friends. Soooo.. much fun. =) Upon returning to NC I had to turbo Christmas shop. On Sunday I met up with Court for a bit which was nice. Midnight mass was awesome. God giving us himself in human form... wow. The day after Christmas we headed to NY to visit relatives. Everyones doing well. On Friday I met up w/ Hayley and Alex for a day in Manhattan followed by watching MD fall apart at the Emerald bowl. The next morning we left for Phili to spend a day with my mom's side of the family. Basically the parents talked about their kids upstairs while we all tried to entertain each other downstairs. Poor Jeff, he was the only male downstais and some of the girls were picking on him. After mass with everyone we met up w/ on of my moms college friends and then started to drive home. My family dropped me off in CP and a week of fun began =)

The first day and a half I spent entirely with Rachelle. I love that girl. We talked and talked and talked. New Years Eve day we went into Georgetown and ended up spending two hours in the basement of Urban Outfitters reading their books and talking about life. This was followed by an adventure through the Four Seasons Hotel and hunting for a canal. Lots of fun. That night she threw a surprise b-day party/new years eve party. Sooooo much fun. I had a blast with all the people. Not my normal crowd but still a lot of fun. The last people left after 6am!!
The next day we managed to go to a Spanish mass and then explored some more of DC and hung out. Unfortunately Rachelle had to leave the morning of the 2nd for her foot surgery. Shortly after she left Hayley, Nick, and Nathaniel were over at my appt playing cards. The next two days I met up w/ more in-state friends and explored DC with Hayley, Nick, Nathaniel, Seth, and Dru. Each of us represents a different state =) Saturday morning Nick, Mary, and I left for the Eastern Shore. Brandon gave us a very thorough tour of the Eastern Shore. Did you know that Harriet Tubman is from Cambridge? We visited a store where some one threw a brick at her and the median they made in her honor. Yes, thats right. A median in the middle of a highway. Its a little park with historical signs, benches.. the works. That night a bunch of his hs friends came over for his annual white elephant party. Basically its a Chinese gift exchange but with funny presents. It was a lot fun. Everyone stayed for a long time afterwards (5:30amish) and had tons of fun. Plus his parents cooked a ridiculous amount of delicious food. The next morning Nick, Brandon, Mary and I chatted until I had to leave for the train station noonish. It was my first time riding a train. Lets say there are lots of interesting people on trains. That could be a post in itself but this post is already too long.

The New Years Eve party and my weekend in Cambridge also could've been solid posts by themselves. Thats what I get for not updating. Now I am back in NC. My laser eye surgery is this Thursday and I leave for TX the following Thursday. I'll make another post once I settle down in TX unless I feel particularly inspired when I'm on the valium after my surgery. Congrats if you have made it this far in my post. Final note, I love my friends. I'm super excited about TX but I am going to miss all my MD friends tons. Hooray for cell phones and AIM.

Happy Thanksgiving!! Thanksgiving is amazing. I love my family =)

Wednesday Matt took Alex, Andrew, and I to the airport super early. We learned that you can't check in your bags more than four hours early. New tidbit of knowledge for you. Needless to say I got to know Andrew much better. We had 5 hrs of story time in the airport, another hour on the plane, and then we met each others parents when they picked us up at the airport.

By 7am the next morning my dad and I were on the rode to the lake. The rest of my family and grandma were already there =) Today involved lots of cooking, watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, some pool and kayaking with my brother, some hw, eating, learning Canasca, and soon bed.

Tomorrow morning I'm waking up @ 5:30 am for black Friday. Last year I got a nice top, skirt, and shoes for about $40 and normally just the top cost about $300. Pretty sweet. I absolutely need to find my dad a birthday present and hopefully I can finish most of my Christmas shopping. =)

Well time for bed everyone. Yay for a fun Thanksgiving and hopefully a productive but relaxing break.

I will be working in the International Space Station Environmental and Life Support Systems. A mix of training the astronauts and some mission control work. =) Pretty cool stuff. Next up is finding someone to sublease my apartment and a place to live in Houston. Very exciting. =) ok.. SUPER EXCITING!! Yay =)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Wow... life has been insane. I need Thanksgiving break sooo bad. The entire semester has been ridiculously busy but these last two weeks.... wow. I feel very burnt out. Lots of good has happened, bad too, but overall its all crazy. Soooo much school work, sooo much work at the lab, soooo much everything. The exciting part is Ive had a bunch of phone interviews w/ United Space Alliance. Its excited that they want to interview me for the job but I wish I didn't have to do a different interview w/ different people for every job. The prep time, hour interview, and follow up take up a lot of time I do not have. Still super exciting though. The last interview was crazy hard. The first question, so tell me what you know about our company. Not standard but fine. Then it turns into all these questions that indirectly see how you handle stress. Tell me about a time your professor spoke down to you in class and how you handled it, a time someone criticized you infront of a large group of people, a time you disagreed with a boss, a time you were working on a project and everything was going wrong, a life threatening situation and how you handled it..... Then it turned into technical brain teasers. Tricky but I managed. Then it got really difficult. For example, please explain to a nontechnical audience why the astronauts float in the ISS. Ok, first off there are 15 people on conference call with me while I try to answer. I came up w/ an answer but for engineers who learn everything from the technical side its really hard to think of it otherwise and explain it nontechnically. More questions continued that were designed to throw me off and see how I reacted in the stressful situation. Rough interview and then I ran off to the lab. Returned, studied all night for a test that I've been studying for the last 2 weeks. This morning I bombed the test.. ugh. I'm doing really well in every class but that one. Now I have to worry about passing it. sigh... I guess thats what I get for majoring in aerospace engineering. Life is overall going well, just crazy, insanely busy. Too much is going on right now. I need to make sure I sleep a lot over Thanksgiving. I have a full day of labs tomorrow followed by an interview followed by more work @ the SSL and then thermal testing of the payloads. I could easily be getting back 11ish. Then I'll probably go to sleep.

For now back to hw and at somepoint interview prep for tomorrow.

10:38 pm
ok so I've been failing at updating. Thats what happens when you become super busy. So lots of interviews, lots of business, lots of SSL stuff, lots and lots of hw...... I've learned so much this semester!! Its incredible. I like all my classes besides aerodynamics. The prof is a nice old man, but you can't hear what he says or read his writing. Plus hes super boring. Nice man, seems to love teaching... he just can't teach a class anymore. Hes easily in his mid to upper 80s. Please retire. All my other classes are great. =) Tons of work but I've learned sooo much so its worth it. I've thus far had interviews with Boeing, GE, Lockheed Martin.... and now UNITED SPACE ALLIANCE!!!!!!! I LOVE UNITED SPACE ALLIANCE!!! My interview went really well and I am lined up for multiple phone interviews with different managers. The phone interviews are an hour long conference call with the managers, some HR, and the staff I would work with. Intense... I'm soooo excited and it looks like theres a good possibility I will co-op with them. This means I would disappear to Houston, TX for a year. =) I'd graduate a year later but sooo worth it. They are in charge of NASA's mission operations. In lay terms, I would either be working in mission control or training astronauts!! It takes awhile to get certified, but that would be the end result. They want technical people w/ good communication skills and teaching experience.. thats me!!! Im so excited =) We shall see how all this pans out. Ok, I should really try to concentrate on my hw again. Normally I plow through my hw for hours and hours w/o problems but tonight I'm so excited its been near impossible to concentrate.

11:37 am
Wow, its been awhile. Lets see, the week of the 11th. I guess I'll talk about classes then go over general exciting news b/c I have some.

Flight Software: The first hw took ridiculously long but I did well and the rest have been much more reasonable. Surprisingly this has been my best class so far this semester

Aerodynamics: First test is Thursday and I don't feel like I've learned a thing. I've done all the hw and have gotten good grades, but I don't feel like I've learned the material. That'll be fun times this weekend

Dynamics: Shapiro is amazing. The TAs are having problems collecting and grading my hw so officially I am failing the class right now but as soon as they realize they accidentally gave me some zeros it should be fine. Hopefully I can work that out with them this weekend. Did I mention that Shapiro is amazing!

Electronics: Winky is crazy!! Labs have been fine and I currently have an A... but we haven't had the dreaded Winky midterm yet. According to his sylabus he takes off pts if you miss a question... eek

Outside of classes life has been crazy. I don't have time to talk through everything so heres a brief summary of the high pts:
-1st AIAA meeting had an awesome speaker from the Personal Spaceflight Federation

-Balloon launch last weekend was a success. =) Plus I learned a lot about electronics when trying to recreate the sensor and camera systems using a picaxe processor.

lots of other stuff happened too but I don't feel like recapping everything. Time for the really exciting stuff, beginning this past Tuesday.

Tuesday was crazy! I attended an astronaut debriefing in the morning at NASA headquarters, rushed back, changed out of my SSL polo and into a suit, ran in heels to the career fair, was told by multiple people to apply online in a couple of months, ran in heels to class for which I was now late, 3 hrs electronics lab.... I finally got back to my room 5:20ish and was about to eat for the first time when the fire alarm went off! grrr.. As soon as I got back inside I scarfed down food. Hw and career fair prep the rest of the night.

Wednesday:
I actually had time to breathe and take my time at the career fair. I went to flight software in my suit so that I could head straight to STAMP. Wednesday I talked with Teach for America, United Technologies, Boeing, ATK, NASA, and Aerospace Corporation in that order. United Technologies went well though the recruiter was either drunk or english wasn't his native language and he had a speech impedement. It was strange. Boeing went, really, really well!! I told them exactly what I wanted to do at their company and how I could contribute. I was soooo annoyed with myself I forgot to get the recruiters business card (I got one for United Technologies) I wasn't planning on talking with ATK but Kevin saw me and exclaimed "Hi Laura" and immediately began talking with me about ATK. NASA I spoke w/ a clueless HR rep and got a sheet telling me what majors they recruit and to apply online in December. Aerospace Corporation went fine. I have his business card so I need to send him a cover letter within the next week.
So I then head back to my appt and change before electronics. Electronics was pretty normal until Winky teaches us how to make a circuit that would tazer deer.... He built it around his garden and put peanut butter on the wire. aka he baited the deer and then almost killed them.... yeh
Afterwards I had an hour before I left for tutoring so I read electronics and chatted with Wrightie on the mall. We were discussing career fairs and how they didn't seem to useful since all anyone did was tell you to apply online. This is very similar to a conversation I had earlier with Tracey and Adam. Remember this part b/c it becomes ironic later in the evening.
Next up was tutoring in Langley from 3-5:30/40ish. I love my kids. My table is all 4th graders and they have the widest spectrum of personalities that could ever exist. They range from shy to complete attitudes, studious to not wanting to do work..... I love them all. Last week I promised Sally I would give her a piggy back ride if she read an entire book. When I arrived she was glowing as she handed me a piece of paper and a book. She was so excited she read the book during the week and wrote a small book report about it. =) awwww.... wow.... I could make an entire post just on all my kids but that will have to wait until this weekend.
So I get back to my appt, make dinner, and start working on hw. Then I get the call.... Its 6:40ish and an unknown number with an area code I do not recognize.
"Hello, this is Joe Frazier. May I please speak with Laura Meyer."
"This is she. How may I help you."
"Today at the career fair you met with a recruiter who was really impressed and I am here to offer you an interview with Boeing. Are you interested?"
This is where I have to start thinking about breathing slowly
"Definitely"
"Great. Can you come in tomorrow at 11:30am? It would be a 30 to 45 minute interview?"
"Yes, that would be perfect"
"Now this is an unofficial, non job specific, soft skill interview. Basically, we will ask you behavioral questions.

The conversation continued a little bit longer but thats the jist. WOW!!! So I am supper excited. It ends up Heather also got a call! We both screamed and ran around for a little, ok a long while! All my planned hw got pushed back a day as I spent the rest of the night researching boeing and running through practice behavioral interviews.

Thursday morning I woke up at 5am to make sure I had everything together and run through the interviews again. Before aerodynamics I stopped by Meredith's office to borrow a padfolio and Clark school pen for the interview. During the hour between the end of aerodynamics and my interview, my goal was to stay calm and focused. I arrived at the interview at 11:15 and chatted with the lady at the front desk. We had a long time to chat b/c he ran 15 mins over with Heather. I learned he was only interviewing 6 people!!!
My interview went great!!! I was supposed to be done by 12:15 but it ran almost to 1:10!! Afterwards I went to the AIAA lounge to pick up my backpack and then realized by the time I got to dynamics there'd be about 15 mins left so I stopped rushing. Next I returned the padfolio to Meredith and SIBYLLE!! was there!! We caught up and I told them both about the interview. Sibylle is about to move to Cincinnati to work for GE Aviation!! Cool stuff. I have an interview with them next week so that would be really funny if I end up working for Sibylle next summer.

The rest of the day involved me being really excited and trying but having little success with concentrating on my work.

More details about the interview:
It went really, really well. Boeing does everything through an online database so I was curious how my interview would help. It ends up they have a special database that the four regional managers can choose 11 people each to add. They add many more details about the student and basically try to market them!!! The normal database has easily over 20,000 applicants while the other database has less than 50!!! eeekk!!! I am also supposed to e-mail him directly about my favorite three or four jobs posted online and he will personally call the managers for me!! Plus if I have an internship with Boeing this summer they will give me a job offer at the end of the summer and if accept they will reimburse my senior year expenses!!! Yeh... wow....
I still want to apply for a bunch of other companies but I am super excited about Boeing!! They are the prime contractor for the ISS and are doing a lot of work with the Shuttle and CEV!!! Cool stuff!!

Ok, I need to run to class. I had time to make this post b/c I finished my flight software lab early. =)

Last week was fine. Winkleman is officially insane but in a good way. Flight Software lab was insane!!!!umm... yeh.... Fortunately Kiwi is amazing. He heard of our reaction and delayed the due date so that we could all discuss the lab in class. Mondays class was extrememly helpful and now its due Friday.
Now for the fun. Jon arrived Friday and stayed for the weekend. When he arrived we got dinner at Noodles with Heather then Jon and I walked around campus for about 2.5 hrs. On our way back Hayley called and she met up with us at my appt to hang out. Eventually we ended up at Matt's place in Courtyards playing Mario Kart.
Now the bus ride to Matt's appt was fine but the return trip was a different story. One girl kept pressing the request stop button and the bus driver eventually flipped. He stood up, yelled at her and then mouthed her off to his superiors over his mic. As soon as we started driving again she preesed the request button. BAD IDEA! He was pissed. One of the drunk guys yelled, "DON'T STOP FOR HER!! REVENGE! REVENGE!" So the next thing we know he is speeding past her stop. Well now shes furious and storms to the front of the bus. She gets all in his face but he ignores her. During this the drunk people start the Hey You Suck and a##h## chant to her. Well finally she pushes the front door open and he stops in order to not hurt her. The entire bus is still yelling out the window out her and the bus driver speeds away. At this point the driver is zipping past all stops and the drunk people start yelling for him to not stop until wawa. Well we started by Denton and he didn't stop until we hit a light on RT 1. Boy did he cut it close with the circle through campus. At the light almost everyone ran off of the bus. Interesting ride. Jon and I got back and were chatting when the fire alarm went off at 2:30am..... Interesting evening.

Saturday a group of us left for the Spy Museum 9:30ish. Such an amazing museum =) It was followed by lunch and the Air and Space Museum. =) We went from being spy to soaking in the best museum ever. That was followed by mass before about 30 people came over =) Soooooo much fun. We had games going on everywhere and it was a blast. I love my friends. Afterwards I made an appearance with Brandon and Nick at Laurens party and then met up w/ a bunch of friends that had been playing frisbee. Time to diverge and comment how well Jon fit in with everyone. It amazed me. He would many times go off and do things with my friends w/o me being there b/c everyone split up. He was completely comfortably with everyone and had an awesome time. He liked my friends and my friends liked him.

Sunday morning Jon left and I worked on hw all day.

Monday, o Monday... I woke up 12 mins before I normally leave for my 9:00am class. Amazingly I made it there 13mins early but I didn't shower or eat breakfast. Flight Software went really well. It seems to make a lot more sense but no promises until I try to work on my project tonight. Right after the class I helped at the study abroad fair. That was a lot of fun and I got an awesome t-shirt. Its definitely one of my all time favorite t-shirts. I rushed back to commons, showered, ate, and worked on some hw before electronics. Electronics was just fine until the end of class. Lets just say it was very embarrassing and if you want to know ask me personally. I partially made up for it later by cooking him a delicious Shepard's Pie dinner. The rest of my day involvedh hw.

Today(Tuesday) has been relativly uneventful. I turned in a bunch of hw, received more hw, and had my first electronics lab. I am planning on programming most of tonight minus when my RA takes my appt out to Adeles =)

O, I forgot!! The Balloon stuff is back up and going. This semester we are mainly focusing on helping the freshmen and all of our tracking procedures(GPS, HAM Radio) . My first ambassadors event is Friday! Engineering Picnic and Inventis tomorrow! CDA and AIAA start the following week. The rest of my ECs will slowly get rolling.

Ok, off to hw

So I am a huge fan of long weekends. Lets see...

Friday evening/night: The guys house warming part was so much fun. Easily 60+ people came and it was a blast. Dancing, chatting, trivia games, table tennis... it was fun. Plus I got to see lots of awesome people. When I returned Rachelle, her friend Emily, and Matt were about to head out to Laurens house - a friend of a friend. Since it sounded close, I decided to join. umm.. no. Angelica, the link between Lauren and Rachelle, gave Rachelle directions that led us to the Sig Ep satellite house.... yeh.... So I immediately left.Rachelle and her friend got back less than 5 mins after me.

Saturday: hanging w/ Hayley and Brandon, football game, then housewarming @ Nick, Seth, Andrew, Guy, and Scotts. I got to ride a unicycle!! That was loads of fun!

Sunday was church, chilling, Sound of Music while reading electronics, and over at Alex's

Monday: Hw and cooking while finishing the Sound of Music =)

Long weekends spoil me.
