BioBonjourno, My name is Jonathan and im a practising non-conformist. I'm not sure if God exists but see utilitarianism as the only truley objective doctrine from which societies can dirive their ethics.
I consider myself left-wing in many of my opninons but believe that i often act outside the traditional political designations. All people, however extreme in their opinions, should be allowed the maximun freedom of expression. Without taking into account the contray opinions to our own we can never be sure that our views are truely what we believe. 'Truth' can only be reached through discourse free from tyranny, fear and oppression. The only justifying criteria for infringing upon another's liberty is to hault a larger enfringement upon another person. I follow the teachings of Friedrich Nietzsche, John-Stuart Mill and Jurgen Habermas, but feel that many of my thoughts are inderpendant of these thinkers.
I'm 20 years old and currently studying International Politics and Inteligance Studies at the University of Aberystwyth. I'm in my final year here. I have a girlfriend, Kayla, who is the love of my life who lives in Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA. Although we don't see each other that often, we often write to each other and exchange quirky gifts
