- When I posted my favorites, I didn't end up including the Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne because I only read the first (Hounded) in December for an online book club. I read the second, Hexed, in two days Sunday and Monday and I'm waiting for the third, Hammered. These are quick reads and a lot of fun IMO. The main character, Atticus O'Sullivan is a very old Irish Druid and the idea is that gods from all the various pantheons exist. We see or hear about some familiar ones and some I'd never heard of before (like some Celtic and Asian goddesses). And, there are various other creatures (witches, vampires, werewolves) and random pop culture references. Plus, Atticus has an Irish wolfhound named Oberon whom he can communicate with telepathically and he's adorable. In any case, I thought I'd mention them because I've had a lot of fun reading the first two, I'm looking forward to getting the third, and the fourth is coming out in April.
