The music blaring in his ears and tears streaming down his face. he brought his trigger finger to the gun and held it. staring off in the distance. lost in a trance. another tear runs down his face and leaps off his chin to land on that blank piece of paper. he brings his weapon to the paper and thinks. and while staring off in the distance he allows his hand to move. not paying attention to the dance it does. but feeling it. as he stares into the sun he sees a silhouette. running. running. running. it grows closer and closer.... all the while allowing his hand to continue its movement as if independent.... running, running, running... closer. closer. closer. the sun starts to set. and slowly begins its departure..... the boy feeling accomplishment over come him slowly moves his finger with a smile and gently pulls....... it becomes cold as the sun fades in the distance. one last tear falls. and completes what is scribbled. a soft breeze carries the piece of paper to the feet of the stunned girl. as she drops to her knees she looks at the paper. and slowly reads what is there.... "I love you, and I’m sorry" a tear forms and slowly runs down her cheek and lands at the end of the sentence on top of the boy's. forming a period... its over. |
