A few of you have asked that I put these in order. So here is that post. I will set this so it stays at the top of the journal and update it as more stories are added. This should make it easier to keep up if you are reading along. You will notice some places where there are spaces in the list marked with "***". These signify that there is more to the story between those points that I have yet to write. the list will not be numbered as I would have to constantly renumber it. I will try to keep a list outside the cut of new titles for each month.

It wasn't until the next evening that Snake could get away to call. He was still sour over the yelling he endured from his officers. Still he managed to get away for another day. That was the benefit of learning quickly and being an officer. He took one of the jeeps and headed for Chicago. He needed away from the military for just a little while. That's when he remembered the cute cop. Snake got out his phone and gave her a call at her cell number.

Plissken was glad to be back in the states. After three months of nothing but missions out in the middle of eastern Russia Snake would have went to a garbage dump as long as it was warm and stateside. As luck would have it on arrival they were sent to Chicago for leave and training on a new software program for the targeting systems of the gulfires.

It was July, warm and they let them out for a day. Earlier had mostly involved sleeping in and gorging on real food in any place that caught their eye. Now that it was drawing toward evening they wanted to drink. The six of them found a rather low key bar and shuffled into a big corner booth together. They were drunk and relatively rowdy as the night wore on. It wasn’t much.. loud talking and too much laughing.

Snake got up to get another round. Sophia wasn’t old enough to drink and so he promised to find a virgin, girly drink for her. The bartender assured him that with a little time he could make a virgin margarita. Plissken waited eying up a rather attractive local who was standing beside him. He bought her a drink and stood talking to her. She was a secretary and single. She liked to drink whiskey which he thought was the best thing he’d heard in a long time. Together they stood there drinking whiskey and talking about his tour oversees. Things were going well and the drinks were lining up on the bar. Snake only now noticed that he wasn’t going to be able to carry them all to the table so he invited the girl to join them over in the booth.

She did join them and due to space constraints had to sit on Snake’s lap. He was all too happy with the situation especially when she got in close and wrapped an arm around his neck. Maybe he would stay off base until morning. That was when things went wrong.

To Snake, it appeared as though the girl just disappeared off his lap but the shriek told him something was horribly wrong. Some big, ugly bastard had pulled her off by her hair. He was going on about how she was still his. Snake glanced at the others who made a face. They didn’t want him getting involved but knew Plissken enough to see a fight coming. Snake stood up and scowled.

“Let her go son of a bitch.” Snake looked up at the man who had a good 3 or four inches on him.

“What are you going to do about it?” He shoved the woman away and turned on Snake.

Plissken didn’t even flinch as the bastard approached. Once he was in range Plissken sucker punched him full force in the stomach. It stumbled the man but he kept coming. Snake dodged a swing shoved his opponent. Off balance the man stumbled back again. Plissken kicked him and sent him back into the door which promptly shattered. Some of his friends got up as Snake chased him out the door.

A hit came to the back of the head that sent Plissken to the pavement. He rolled on instinct no matter the pain and saw his attackers now numbered four. He managed to get to his feet just as one came in. He took the punch to the side as he slammed his head into the attacker’s nose. It brought blood instantly. Snake ignored the wounded one and turned on the others. They were coming in hard and it took a trained eye to see one of them had a knife palmed. Snake could hear sirens coming. Inwardly, despite being reprimanded on base, he hoped those cops were coming here. Snake used his speed to keep from getting trapped. One dropped and Snake smiled when he saw Taylor revealed as one fell. He didn’t have time to say thanks as the glint of a knife caught his attention. Snake dodged praying those cops hurried the fuck up.

The first thought is always a dragon but it doesn't suit me. Really what I would have to be is a griffin. They're used to symbolize nobility, loyalty, wisdom and strength. I can't see anyone disagreeing with that except for those bastards in the USPF. For them, the griffin appears out of nowhere and is destructive, aggressive and war like. There, shut all the bastards up. Add the fact that in modern fiction they're depicted as careful and defensive parents and you ain't going to see an argument about a griffin being me. (We'll conveniently forget about that divine power shit applied to them.)

All that shit aside, I would love to fly. I wouldn't want to be a mythical creature unless the damned thing had wings. They look sleek to me like a sports car or a fighter jet. Dragons don't look that streamlined and efficient.

How big is your headspace? Do you collect dozens of characters who chatter constantly, or does one stand out and demand all your attention over a long period of time?


All of the above? There is a constant chatter in my head from all of them. Some interesting conversations come out of the crew I tote around. However, the ones that are played here are the most talkative and attention grabbing. Snake, Ian, Rosie, Peninnah and to a certain extent Hammond are the loudest as a rule. The others sneak in when they pipe down or get busy in behind the scenes stuff. For the most part all the muses I consider active speak at least every other week to someone or in some prompt or post.

My headspace is a pretty busy place. To get an idea imagine those videos of Parliaments in India or Korea or some other country where there is a debate that sometimes goes well and other times turns into something reminiscent of WWF SummerSlam cage match. That is my headspace all the time.

I’ve got to say something. It has to be said and I’m sorry to the poor girl who made me aware of how much this needs to be said. Americans, in general, do not understand the fucking holidays or why most of them are celebrated.

Let’s set today straight. 4th of July, better known as Independence Day, celebrates the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It’s a day to celebrate being freed from oppression and gaining the ideals that everyone is entitled to the same rights of freedom, liberty and other ideals that America was founded on. That whole line about "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness". That's what this holiday is about.

The holiday isn’t about wars or veterans or any of that bullshit. It’s not about people dying or battles. Independence Day is just what it sounds like. It celebrates independence. So stop with all the fallen soldiers and war bullshit. There are other holidays for that.

Give me a career. Any career. Legal, illegal. Old, new. Just any career that comes to mind and I will write a drabble with your muse interacting with my muse in their new career.

Still no net at home so might be slow at repping.

Our home net is down and I have no idea when it will be back. They can't even tell me what is wrong with it. So tomorrow there will be someone coming out to look at it. Until then... ugh no net at home. I'm at a coffee shop right now for a bit but expect tags to run slow until it is fixed.

1. How does procrastination factor into your writing habits?
Procrastination is the reason I write. Those days you see me posting piles of fics usually means I'm not doing something else that I am dreading in RL. Most of my writing and rp in fact are done when I don't want to do something else.

2. How much does it hold you back?
Procrastination rarely holds me back. However, if I procrastination too long I'll write too much and get that blank head feeling. (You know what I'm talking about, where you feel like there are just no more words left in your head.) That usually takes a day or two to recover from.

3. What do you do to put off your writing?
Do what I'm avoiding? I like to write and write often so putting myself off from writing is a big part of motivating myself to do RL things sometimes.

4. What, if anything, do you tell yourself to turn yourself off from the writing urge?
I play a game where I allow myself to write one story and then work on what I need to do for an equivalent amount of time or one story = accomplishing one thing on my to-do list. Yes, I bribe myself and I am not ashamed of it. XD

Can there be a better go out and get them, celebratory song?



No, didn't think so. It's the Rocky Theme. Anyone who's ever seen the movie and got caught up in it wouldn't argue.
