The Journal
This is the writing and graphics journal of Calex.
Calex uses Photoshop CS for her graphics, and various brushes and textures from all over the place. To be honest, she has forgotten where she has gotten most of these, but a lot of them are from DA so if anyone recognizes any of them, please tell her. She's got a very large collection on her hard drive, but she's forgotten which ones she's uploaded onto photoshop. Calex mainly does banners for stories and the like, and icons of whatever she feels like. She experiments using whatever tutorials she finds on LJ that seems interesting and pretty. Sometimes these experiments work, other times it fails. Badly. In any case, she hopes people will like them. Banners for this journal, FO banners etc are all made by her unless specified otherwise.
She used to write a lot of fanfic, some of which can be found on this journal. She dabbled in BtVS, HP, Anita Blake and various other fandoms that caught her eye, not to mention crossovers. She also likes making impossible pairings work. These days, she's taken a hiatus from fanfic to concentrate on original writing.
Her original writing is mostly fantasy, otherwise it is contemporary. The genre is most usually romance flavoured with humour and angst and her fantasy is usually rife with politics. Nowadays, she usually writes slash. Once, she dabbled in Sci-Fi, and she would like to return to it as the premise for the story seemed interesting.

| About Calex
Calex is 19 though she turns 20 next month. She's currently living in Malaysia doing an American Degree Transfer Program in Taylor's University College and will be transferring to the states as early as January 2009. She's hoping to major in Art History. She studied in England for 5 years previously.
Calex is the youngest of five children (and when she says youngest, she means by a LOT), with far too many aunts, uncles and therefore cousins for her to count. She loves cats and currently has two (although one is scared of humans due to trauma and hardly ever shows his face) but at one point owned as many as forty. No, she isn’t kidding. Yes, it really was that crazy. No, she doesn’t know why, they just bred on their own. No, she can’t give you any because her mother has already sold them all off barring for the aforementioned two. She likes reading manga (yaoi or otherwise), watching anime, playing RPG games and Guitar Hero on her brother’s PS2, writing, listening to music, watching obscure foreign movies, taking photographs but hates being in them, playing around on Photoshop, trying out restaurants and a variety of different foods, jewellery (she buys far too many and wears far too much at a time), make up, watching football in pubs, going to gigs, parties, concerts and raves with friends, and whiskey and cokes. Among other things.
Calex likes collecting things. Her room is a mess of knickknacks bought from various countries that she has visited with her family and she likes buying cheap local art with bright colours and striking shapes. She also collects cigarette cases and zippo lighters and would one day like to buy a pocket watch, a cane, a top hat and a hip flask. Oh yeah, and a monocle. She owns fedoras, used to own several corsets but they have disappeared into thin air and has a strange fetish for glasses and jackets. The number of which she owns is staggering.
