Welp, my last official Spring Break is over and I have nothing to show for it. I had really wanted to do something for Spring Break the first time ever in life but again, being broke pretty much kept me on lockdown in the house. Part of me wanted to be incredibly irresponsible for the first time in life and charge a trip to Vegas for a couple of days just for a change of scenery. I do have the credit, but absolutely no means of paying for it. lol Not to mention, I'm already $1200 in debt with no means of paying for it at the moment. So. Yeah. But whatever. At least it was a break, I guess.

I have 7 weeks of college life left, and as great as that is, it's scary as hell. Last Thursday, I went to see my career counselor to go over my resume so we could trim the fat and so I can understand how target it effectively and what to leave in/out. I didn't know you could leave jobs out. I thought you had to have everything on there, but that has changed. She gave me some great tips, which I followed up Friday as I spent like five hours tailoring my resume to one particular job and reading a lot of recent grad tips on MonsterTrak. Trying to find a job will be a full-time job, that's for sure. Just trying to get an interview will be a full-time job.

See, this I why I need to win the lotto. It would hold me over until I acheive world domination.

So a friend and I have to put up our big window Monday of next week, so we gotta get the stuff we need for it this week. We're doing a spa theme, and our main issue is buying the furniture that will go in it. That shit has to go back after the week is over. lol We need a zen/shoji screen or room divider and some sort of shelving unit like this. I don't like that one; there was one just like that but better on Target.com but I don't see it. I have a fountain thing with candles that can go in it, and we'll probably put trinkets and stuff on the shelves. It'll look cook when we get everything. I know we'll hit up Japantown.

Why is VH1 turning into E!?

We have a shadowbox window due in May but I'm not worried about that yet. I've got all of these other people to manage for the fashion show next month who aren't doing shit like they're supposed to. Over the past month, I've been frustrated and stressed because people aren't taking accountability for what they signed up to do, but now, things have changed. My prof. created a spreadsheet to log assigned tasks so if they don't do it, that's on them. I hate when you're in a class and put into a group where people don't take you seriously because you aren't the teacher. I also hate when people try to take on more responsibility than they can handle because they want to feel in control, and then they don't end up getting anything done, which also happened in my group, and her ass was demoted twice. But that's another story.

I am so sick of hearing about Tom and Katie. At least I get a laugh out of Brit and K-Fed.

Oh and I had another DVD night last night. I rented Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire, History of Violence and The Memoirs of a Geisha, all of which were entertaining. Although, I was weirded out by Harry Potter trying to be 14 in the movie when he looks 17. And they said he'd been there 4 years already. He started when he was 10?

Grey's Anatomy is new tonight, yes? I'm mad that I missed the new CSI. :| My TV said that it was a rerun when I checked so I decided to check up on The OC since I haven't watched in a month because it got boring as hell. And yes, it's still boring as hell.

Christina is performing at the MTV Movie Awards in June, which means her first single should be leaking VERY soon! And her boobs are huge in this pic. I wish I could squeeze my rolls into a dress like that.

Oh gawd. San Francisco is voting to raise parking lot fees $1 an hour and $25 a month. I'm glad I don't need to catch the bus down there. That shit is expensive enough. Some of those garages are $3 ever 20 mins!

I'm skipping my first class this morning because the cramps have settled in this morning and the idea of jogging around a track for an hour just isn't appealing to me. But I think I'll go to my aerobics class since I didn't go last Wednesday. I just don't like the idea of working out and being sweaty, and then having to rush out of there to get lunch and take the bus across town for my 12pm class. It's just not kosher. Then again, I am taking it credit/no credit. Maybe I won't go. lol

It's good that I watch the news every morning now. For those of you that get your taxes prepared at those companies like H&R Block, you might want to rethink that because they were talking about the fact that they have the ability to sell your information to marketers through an IRS loophole. Not to mention that a lot of that business is outsoursed to India, so someone across the globe could be stealing your infomation as well.

So Robin Thicke's album has been pushed back AGAIN. I was wondering why it hadn't leaked yet, and when I went on his website, it says "NEW ALBUM IN STORES SOON" where it used to say "NEW ALBUM IN STORES MARCH 21." :|

I wonder what Prince's album sounds yet. Anyone heard it? I heard Jojo's new song "Anything" and it's not bad. It was a live version so the quality wasn't great.

American Idol was pretty good last night for once, but I still can't understand why Kevin is up there. He's a nice kid but come ON. He's there but Melissa went home? And Kellie is the most annoying chick on the planet. The dumb blonde thing is not cute, and I'm starting to think that she's acting to play up to some of that. I mean the comment about her eyelashes? Oh God. I finally figured out why I don't like Lisa. Simon said it last night. Every time I watch her, it's like watching a high school talent show or musical. I don't see her on a real stage doing really performances for some reason the same way I do people like Mandisa, Taylor, Katherine, and Chris. Paris is almost there, but I think she's got a little more life to live first as well. But dude, if Bucky, Kevin, or Lisa don't go home, I'm gonna have a fit. A FIT.

Two months from Friday, I will be an official graduate with a Bachelor's of Science. Yes. Yup. Uh huh.

+ It snowed here in San Francisco Friday night for the first time in ten years. Not everywhere, just high elevations. I kinda wish I could have seen it in person but you know, oh well. We've had storms for the past week, and I don't know when they're gonna end. But then again, that happens in Spring. Wow, it's almost Spring already.

+ I don't have any the special to report. I'm stuck trying to find information on Costa Rica's textile industry so I can pick an issue and find pros and cons for a paper and presentation due next week. I want to do the pros and cons of CAFTA's affect on the textile industry but I can hardly find info on Costa Rica's textile industry at all. I know it's there because I've seen textiles being mentioned in their economic exports catagories, but damn, I need more than that. Or I'll do a search and an article will mention Costa Rica but it's about conditions in El Salvador or something. It'd driving me nuts.

And I'm trying to get an outline of some sort done because I'm supposed to meet with my group after class on Tuesday about putting the presentation together. Oy. The worst part is that I KNOW the information is out there; it's just finding it that's irritating the hell out of me.

+ These next two weeks are really busy for me, but you know, I'm kinda glad because once they're over, all I have to worry about are two window displays, my portfolio, and the fashion show. Smooth sailing into graduation.

+ Then I get to stress and freak out about REALLY finding a job. I need to win the lottery.

+ When is our next presidential election? 2008? That year cannot come too soon. And I hope like hell that Hilary runs. I don't care if she served on the board at Wal-Mart, as long she does something to fix the situation that Wal-Mart has created. I know people like Wal-Mart for low prices but 90% of the people that shop there have no idea how Wal-Mart achieves those low prices and the affect they've had on our economy and workers. Wal-Mart obviously isn't the only evil in our economy, but they're part of it.

+ There's a part of me that wants to go to grad school, just because I know it'll help me more with getting a job. But I don't know what for. I thought about Organizational Behavior, or Marketing, or even getting a certificate in Event Planning. I don't know what I want to do. It really sucks. But at least I'll have a Bachelor's degree. That counts for something.

+ Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate bars are really good. And in case you didn't know, dark chocolate has Flavanol, which is an antioxidant. They are heart healthy.

+ Why is cheese so good? I mean really. With a few exceptions, I love the stuff. One of my friends hates cheese, the poor child. I had a little cream cheese on Triscuits a minute ago and earlier, some cheddar on them. It just sucks that all of the low-fat, fat-free kinds are nasty. Who eats fat-free shit anyway? I mean come on.

+ I've been working on an assignment in my 600 class that's due tomorrow for the past couple of hours (off and on), and it's based on comparing two sets of ideas against each other from the book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. I wrote the Character Ethic vs. Personality Ethic part, but she wants us to compare The P/PC Balance-Production vs. Production Capability and the Maturity Continuum. That would be all fine and all but P/PC Balance includes Production Capability (the PC part), so I have no idea how I'm supposed to compare it to itself. Not to mention the P in P/PC stands for Production, so what the hell is a Production/Production Capability Balance-Production? Huh? Did I also mention that this teacher has yet to be in class because she's ill? This is the third week of school and she's not supposed to return until Feb 20th. I guess she's just giving us something to do to annoys us.

+ I went to the health center to see what the deal is with my knee, and they told me that I suffer from the estrogen-common Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome. From everything I've read, I can't seem to find a reason why it's not that because I basically fit the profile, minus the being an athelete thing. *sigh* Now my challenge is to work around it. I gave the printouts the Dr. gave me to my fitness instructor since she asked so she could review them, so she knows about it. Well the good thing about taking a Personal Fitness class is that you get to create a routine that caters to your own needs. Know I just need to figure out how to do that.

+ Grad Week starts tomorrow, so I get to order my cap and gown. I haven't decided on how much other shit I'm gonna get because money is practically non-existant. My dad said he would get me a class ring but after looking at how much they cost now, I don't need one that bad.

+ Oh I went to see Something New yesterday. It was...okay. I had expected it to be a little better, but it had its moments. My favorite scene was when Brian and Kendra were lying there in bed after they first had sex and he was running his finger over her features. The lighting, the camera angle, how it focused in on his mouth, and the whole intimacy of that made for a great scene. But when she freaked out about him asking about her hair, I was like, what the hell? lol She reacted like he asked her, "So why do you negros buy hair like us?" or something. lol Come on now. He just asked if it came out. White people get weaves too. Damn. lol If you haven't seen it, you can wait until it comes out on DVD.

+ Speaking of that, Saw II comes out this week on DVD. I'm definetely gonna rent that soon. I really liked Saw after avoiding it and thinking it was just another gross-out movie. I don't like horror movies that just have gratuitous killings for no reason. Saw had a purpose.

+ If I hear "Yo! (Excuse me Miss)" ONE more time today...

+ Grey's Anatomy continues tonight! Damn, if only I could win the lottery so I could afford DVDs. The first season also comes out on DVD this week. $120 million!

Why is it I get in some good workouts and my knee starts bothering me again. Something is WRONG with it. Whenever I bend my knee, you can feel the join pop or click. It doesn't do that on my left knee at all. And when I went to the health center to get it looked at last summer, the guy was like, "Oh it's just like that."

No, it's not. It wasn't just like that before last year.

And it was fine all week until I got up this morning and started walking on it. Damn, man. I need my knees, damnit.

Grammys are next week. Hopefully, we'll get some quality performances, and those who are deserving win a statue.

I really wished I lived in LA. Justin is peforming in this benefit concert with BEP, John Legend, Jill Scott and some other people on Monday, and honestly, I would go if I could get a ticket. I'd have to rent me another car or find a cheap ticket, but I'd go. Le sigh.

My graduation application is complete. I just need to go get it signed on Tuesday, pay the $40 application fee, and turn it in. I'm nervous and excited.

And you know what pissed me off? I was looking for jobs yesterday again and found like, the perfect entry-level job working for this local boutique company Ambiance as an Admin Assistant for buyers. That's all I need. Jobs like that don't require a lot of experience, but you get to work in the environment you want and learn other shit as you go, so when the time comes, you can add more responsibilities and hopefully move on up like the Jeffersons. Damn, man. That would have worked so well if I DIDN'T HAVE SCHOOL FIVE DAYS A WEEK. What is this? High school again?

I think I'm gonna go rent some DVDs. I was supposed to go see Something New with a friend but she's busy, plus, her car doesn't work and she doesn't have the money to fix it. So she can't get around easily anymore since she doesn't live in the city. And I was tempted to go anyway without her but she'd be mad if I did that. lol So I think I'll just do what I usually do and go rent 3 movies for $6.50. Isn't that a deal?

Well, the beginning of the end is tomorrow. School starts and there are four months until graduation. Oddly enough, it's bittersweet because I like school; there are a lot of other things I'd love to spend time learning. In fact, since I registered at CCSF again, I might take a couple of classes here or there in the summer or fall at night or something, probably in business. But for now, I'm focused on the final stretch.

Walked to Trader Joe's this morning and did some shopping. I'm gonna do some laundry, and probably a Pilates DVD since I just got my hur did on Friday and I don't want to sweat it out.

That's another challenge for me that I have to endure. See all of the working out makes my hair sweaty and I can't exactly wash it without it turning into a fro. :| iVillage recommended this stuff called Klorane Oat Extract Dry Shampoo. I'd never heard of dry shampoo before, but I dunno. It's worth a try. And I've been wanting to get some stuff from Carol's Daughter for years, even wanted to visit the store in Brooklyn when I was in NYC, but I didn't make it 'cause I wasn't going to BK alone. lol But I might try a couple of things from there 'cause I know they make good stuff. I just wish I could smell it all first. Wow, they were even in Vogue magazine, which is great.

This uh, BET show/documentary Beef is...interesting. I didn't know so many rappers had "beef" with each over, especially over STUPID shit. Or maybe it's just 'cause I'm not in their world so I just don't understand it, that lifestyle. I mean, Chingy talked about how Nelly didn't make up the word "Dirrty" and Nelly was like, "I CAME UP WITH DIRRY!" Who the hell cares? lol All of the shit going on in the world and y'all arguing about that? Sheesh.

And I'm all for ass and everything, but if you have a lot of it, please make sure it fits in your pants. Serena seems to be having a problem fitting her ass in her jeans. Not to mention, she's obviously not wearing draws. Um, no draws and tight denim is not comfortable. Trust me.

This is really gonna be a good year for music. Really. All of the good artists are gonna make up for the last couple of years of cow dung music that we've all suffered through. Yes.

I was looking for pictures of Robin when I came across this article. He also has snippets of some new tracks on his website, and all of the other songs sound 100x better than his new single. I think "Got 2 Be Down" has Faith Evans dueting with him. Album comes out March 21st! (Isn't that the same day NSA came out?)

Between Teena Marie and Justin Timberlake – though some may agree his black card was revoked during to the legendary 2004 wardrobe malfunction! - there have been few white artists who could successfully break into the selective and critical world of R&B/Soul music. However, if there is anyone who can make that leap almost effortlessly, it is the bountiful soul artist Robin Thicke.

Sound a bit familiar? Robin Thicke is the artist formerly known as Thicke, who made a light splash with his 2002 release Beautiful World, which garnered critical acclaim and musically matched soul artists at the time like Musiq, India Arie and Jill Scott.

Still sound familiar? Robin Thicke is the son of Alan Thicke, one of the most beloved television fathers from the 1980s sitcom Growing Pains. Robin Thicke is returning to music with his first and last name, a fresh sound and an album titled The Evolution of Robin Thicke, which will hit stores this Valentine’s Day. His first single, “I Wanna Love You Girl,” which he wrote and produced with Pharrell Williams, is already creating a buzz on radio stations across the country.

Don’t think because Robin is the son of a big-time television dad that his road to the music industry has been paved in sitcom-esque gold. Robin stresses he received no breaks because of his last name, “In music there’s no connection to sitcom television unless you’re Eve and you were already in music. Sometimes in movies and TV you can get by on good looks and charm, but in music you still gotta be able to put down a record – so there was no help. My father encouraged me to learn and grow, but he didn’t encourage me to be a star. I always had my own path and followed.”

Robin does have an illustrious path in the music industry having written and produced for artists such as Usher, Mary J. Blige and Michael Jackson. Robin’s own journey as a singer/songwriter has been complex and full of life lessons. “I had a record deal when I was very young and it took seven years from the time I had my first deal for the first album to come out. I was afraid of failing and had a fear of people not liking the music as much as I did. The Lil' Wayne thing is just out of pocket. I don't understand it. Not to mention, he performed with Robin on The Tonight Show (you can search youtube.com for it), and I can't explain how disturbed that was. Oh and I just read that they will be performing again together on Last Call with Carson on January 31st. I didn't even know Carson still had that show.

As crazy as it sounds, it's kinda weird seeing Pharrell next to a different (yet fine) blue-eyed creature like this:

I hope he tours, even if it's a little club tour or something.

I MISSED YOU!!!!!!111

Yes, I have my computer back after three weeks of being internet-less. It was painful. I didn't realize how much of a junkie I was until I didn't have it anymore. I use this thing to look up any and everything, and resorting to the yellowpages or nothing at all just sucks. But she's back now in my possession with a new keyboard three weeks and $157 later.

In other news, I just drove back from LA yesterday and I had a pretty good time.

1/12 - I picked up the rental car from the Oakland Airport at FOX Rental and got a cranberry colored Impala. Great car. Fun to drive. Just not when you notice a weird plug in tire later that day. After I had lunch with my dad at We Be Sushi, I showed him the car and asked him about what the hell the thing sticking out of the side of the tire was, and he said it was a plug. So I drove a block away to a Shell station, asked the mechanic about it, and he told me I should get it fixed ASAP or call the rental agency to get a new car, which I ended up doing. After complaining to the people at Oakland and the SFO location, SFO finally agreed to let me exchange my car for the same one. The guy there said that the only Impala/Full-Size he had left was reserved and he couldn't guarantee it to me. Um. I paid for it already. I should have priority. And he finally agreed to hold it for me until I got there. So I drove out there that afternoon and exchanged it for a silver Impala, and complained as well since they shouldn't let anyone drive off in a car with a tire like that. Punks.

1/13 - After pretty much no sleep, I was up at 3:30am that Friday morning getting ready to leave. I called Michelle to tell her I was on my way at about 4:30, and then drove out to San Bruno to pick her up. We were back on the freeway at 5am and headed out to LA via Highway 5. The drive wasn't that bad, not as scary as I thought it would be since I'd never driven such a long distance before. The only scary part was the dense fog we went through about halfway there, but it didn't last long.

Michelle drove the rest of the way there once we had stopped for a pee break and some gas. We stayed with her sister Shani, who lives in Culver City about 2 mins from Fox Hills Mall. Her sister is a UCLA Computer Science/Engineering grad, and she's really nice. After we got settled in, we hung around until her roomate got home and then we all went to the movies to see Narnia, and then we snuck into Casanova, which was cute, but I was getting sleepy by then and was ready to pass out.

*That reminds me, Heath is gonna be on Oprah with the rest of the Brokeback Mountain cast sometime soon. I saw a preview for it today.

1/14 - Saturday... Um. Oh, we went to the Fashion District in sorta downtown/east LA. It reminded me of Mission St. here in SF. Most of it was knock-off and really cheap stuff. I did get this cute little $10 top and two pairs of $5 earrings. It was raining off and on that day so that kinda sucked, but otherwise it wasn't so bad. Normally I wouldn't shop in places like that, but it's not like I had the money to go to Rodeo Drive or anything. lol Then we went to Fox Hills mall for lunch and to walk around the mall a bit. I got some sunglasses from Charlotte Rouse and this cute hat from this hair store, nothing special. Then we went home.

After hanging out, we changed and went to The Highlands nightclub on Hollywood and Highland with one of Shani's friends, Olivia, who picked us up. We met up with another one of Shani's friends, Cathy, who is the one that got us on the guest list so we got in for free. The club was okay, nothing special. But there was this old guy in there in this suit and tie, who must have been about 65-years old that kept walking around and staring at girls all night. ALL NIGHT. And he'd stand two feet from us and just stare. It was creepy as hell. *shudders*

1/15 - Sunday, Michelle and I went and drove around Beverly Hills, Sunset and went to The Cheesecake Factory on Beverly Drive. I spent way too much money in there and didn't even realize it until I got the bill. :| I wish I could live in Beverly Hills. We drove up in the hills just to look at some of the homes and... *drools like Homer Simpson* When we got home, we were supposed to go to some Shaq party but we ended up staying in and watching movies.

1/16 - Monday, we went to the Martin Luther King Day Parade over on Crenshaw. It was underwhelming. I didn't want to see a parade full of police cars, Ambulance's, fire trucks, and government officials. The only highlights were the couple of marching bands with baton girls and dancers. Otherwise, it wasn't much to look at, which was disappointing. Maybe there was more to it other than what we saw, but after standing there for an hour, we were ready to go. We hung around for the rest of the day and then went to see Tristan & Isolde, which was pretty good, emotional. Mr. Franco is hot. Mmyes.

1/17 - Tuesday, Michelle and I went to Venice Beach, which was really nice. I wouldn't mind living down there in that area. It was beautiful weather, warm, clear, and sunny. I only bought some oils and a pair of navy blue Havaianas for $9. I would have liked to buy more stuff but we were both pretty broke, Michelle more so than me. Later on, we had planned on going to some comedy club but I found out that it was Louie Anderson that was headlining and it was almost $20 to get in, soooo we didn't go. Then when Shani's roomate got home from work, we decided to go to Boardwalk 11, which is a kareoke bar, but her roomate had left her purse at work and the guy wouldn't let her in without ID. So we ended up going home and staying in.

1/18 - Wednesday, Michelle and I went to Hollywood and walked around. Actually, I drove up Robertson Blvd. first 'cause I wanted to see lisa kline, Kitson an the other shops the celebrities go to. There was no parking and I didn't feel like paying to park in a garage to look at shit I couldn't afford to buy anyway. lol Plus, Michelle was PMSing or something and seemed a little cranky, partially because she didn't have any money to spend really, which I understood. But we didn't stop there on Robertson 'cause I couldn't find parking and we had to be back home by 3pm anyway. So we drove up to Hollywood Blvd and walked around, looked at the hooker shops and the stars on the street. We didn't see a whole lot 'cause by the time we walked back up to the Chinese Theater, we had to leave to drive back home.

That night, the three of us went to Paramount Studios to watch a taping of the show Girlfriends, which is on UPN. It's actually a cute show, and Michelle's favorite show so she was really excited. It was their 132 episode, and I didn't realize it had been on so long. But we had this guy (I don't know what his job title is) who basically entertained us and amped us up to cheer and stuff. He was obviously a comedian of some sort and was pretty funny. The stars looked pretty much like themselves, just a lot smaller. And we did have one nice surprise. Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child was there 'cause she was playing Toni's assistant on the show, and she is tiny as hell, but cute. It was nice though. I'd never been to a live taping before, so it was cool.

1/19 - We came home. Nothing interesting to report on yesterday. We left at around 10:30am and I drove off of the Bay Bridge into San Francisco at 3:30pm. Suprisingly, there was no traffic at all the entire way home, and I was damn grateful. I took Michelle home first before I came back to The City and brought my happy and tired ass in the house to do laundry and decompress.

I also have to say that I slept like a rock last night. Shani lives in this big apartment complex where every sound is heard through the walls. Kids running through the halls, people walking around upstairs, people stomping up and down the stairs outside, people singing gospel music Sunday morning... I mean COME ON. So sleep was a bit hard to come by most of the week, so I slept hard last night. Damn it was nice too.

I wish I could have seen and done more but it just sucks when you've got no money to spend and everywhere you go, you have to pay to get stuff or get in. But it gives me a reason to go back. Plus, Michelle is moving there with her sister after graduation so I have some place to go visit and stay (for free) so I can see more of the city. And if anyone has been to Oakland, CA, LA looks like a big Oakland. Straight up. lol With the exception of Hollywood and those areas, most of the other areas look like Oakland. I thought that was interesting.

As the New Year approaches, my Tae Bo DVDs and Pilates for Weight Loss DVD appear and remind me that I need to start working out again. You know, when I went to Wal-Mart down in Arizona, they had those Tae Bo DVDs for about $2 cheaper than the ones I bought on Amazon. :\ I went home to see if they had shipped my order yet and they had, so I didn't get the cheaper ones. I actually ordered those DVDs in November with this Neutrogena Deep Clean Oil-Controlling Mask that I like to use but cannot find anywhere anymore, and it told me it was gonna take a few weeks for the mask to ship, which is why I just got the package today. I just don't understand why they're not in stores anymore. I've been in Safeway, Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Target, and a couple other stores. I probably should have ordered more than two. Hmm.

Anyway, Arizona was cool. Well hanging with my dad was cool. Apache Junction was dry, warm and um, trailor park-ish. lol Outside of Pheonix, it looks like that show King of the Hill. Everything is flat and there is cacti everywhere. A lot of roads don't even have sidewalks; it's just dirt or rocks. But it's being developed a lot. There's a lot of new homes being built. My dad's house is new, and it's really nice to be honest. It's the kinda house I'd like to move into for a starter home. I just can't move down there. The water is hard, the air is dry, and I knew I was gonna get sick from the climate change. Not to mention they have about 100 days straight of 100+ degree weather in the summer. I think 80 degrees is hot. So I don't think that's the best place for me to move. lol

Most of the time, we just kinda hung out, watched DVDs, and drove around a bit. Monday, the day before I left, we decided to get out of the house and go look at the Superstition Mountains. To do so, you have to go to the Lost Duchman State Park, which we didn't know until we just happened to drive by it and decided to stop there. They have hiking trails that take you up the mountain, which actually looks like a nice walk as long as you go while the weather is cooler and have plenty of water.

Then we decided to keep driving down the 2-lane highway to some place called Coyote Lake, which took us through switchbacks along the mountains. It was a nice scenic drive, and I was glad that I don't get nauseous 'cause I would have been going around those corners. Once we started to descend the elevation, there was a lookout point where you could stop and see the lake from a distance. We stopped there, took a few pictures and decided to head back. There wasn't any point in going the whole way since we didn't have a boat, we weren't going swimming and it was lunchtime. But we at least had an idea where it was. We can come back at some point.

Other than that, there wasn't anything special, besides my dad. For being almost 50, he's the biggest kid I know. lol But he's a lot of fun and I wouldn't want him any other way. He's coming home on Sunday, not for any good reason though. He's getting to that age where friends are starting to drop like flies. I just talked to him about an hour ago, and he told me that his friend Barry, who's wife just died of cancer a few months ago, collapsed and had brain surgery yesterday. His best friend's mother is on her deathbed, well, she's been on her way out for a while, but she doesn't have much time left. And a couple of other people he knows have died since he moved down there in September. It's really kind of depressing. But this is the age that it all starts, and he constantly reminds me to enjoy life while I can 'cause you never know. I want to, trust me, but it's hard when you have no money or friends or anything. Luckily, I got a few of friends now, but I'm still working on the happiness thing. It's a process.

Speaking of friends, I'm supposed to go to LA with my friend Michelle in a few weeks before school starts up to visit her sister, so that should be fun. To be honest, I've only been to LA once. I've been to Disneyland a few times, but that's not LA. I've never done the tourist thing, been on Rodeo or Hollywood or Melrose or anything. Maybe I'll run into Lindsay or Nicole and buy them a sandwich or something.

I'm waiting for Michelle to call me back so I can find out what she's doing for New Years. I suggested that we'd just all hang out at her apartment, get some food, drinks, DVDs, whatever, and hangout there. We've had non-stop rain for the past few weeks and it's not supposed to stop for a while, so I'm not trying to be out there with all of the drunkards tomorrow night on slick roads.

I'm hungry again. I guess it is time to eat since I hate four hours ago. One of my goals, especially as I try once again to lose weight, is to make sure I eat every four hours. So I'm gonna find some grub.

Christmas in AZ

So I'm in Apache Junction, AZ, outside of Phoenix and it's like 75 degrees outside. And you can tell that's there's a shitload of people from all over the place that migrated here too 'cause who wouldn't want to spend Christmas in 75 degree weather opposed to 10 degrees?

Anyway, the house is really nice and makes me almost tempted to move here after I graduate. But it's in the boonies. On the way here, all you see is cacti, undeveloped lots, developing lots, and strip malls. I've never seen a cactus in its natural environment as silly as it sounds. lol There's a shitload of them everywhere.

Another reason why I couldn't move here is because it is not diverse at ALL. And it's a lot of old people to that just stare at you like, what are you doing here? I've never seen one of you in person before. And you know old people aren't afraid to stare at you either. They're like little kids that way. lol

I love my dad but he is he could power his Mercedes with all of the damn gas coming out of his body. I mean, Christ. lol SHUT UP ALREADY. I did miss him though so it's okay. I'd rather have him alive and farting every five minutes that not around at all.

I haven't really done much 'cause there isn't shit to do to be honest besides shop or sleep. We went to the swap meet/flea market earlier and then went to get a late lunch since he kept napping all morning. I think I'm gonna look up some stuff to do/see in Phoenix and make him take me somewhere 'cause AJ is just *yawn* and dusty.

That's all I got at the moment. I might go lay down myself for a minute. Dude, they bought one of those Tempurpedic mattress toppers on my bed and it's WONDERFUL. I'd recommend one if you can spare the dinero, homie.

Old Navy has 100% Cashmere sweaters for $35! Yes, I got one, just now. Old Navy is the devil, like Target. I went in there just to see if they had jeans on sale, which they did, and I walked out with a beige cashmere sweater, this split neck sweater in ivory for my great aunt, some pinstriped khaki slacks for $6, and this glitter knit grey zip-up. I'M SO WEAK. And it's not like I have money. lol :\

But seriously, if you need some xmas gifts still, go there. I could have shopped for just about everyone in the gigantic clearance area alone. Even my grandma came in here and said, "Girl, you sure know how to shop." Damn skippy. I'm not paying full retail for SHAT.

In other news, I have to pack tonight. Surprisingly, I have pretty much everything I need to go down to Arizona, so I didn't need to buy anything. I leave tomorrow at noon. I just hope the weather holds out until I'm safely there on the ground 'cause they keep talking about another storm rollin' through here. As long as it wasn't like that thunder and lightning storm we had a couple of days ago, I'm cool.

I hope I like it down there. My dad says he lives in the boonies, and that people down there walk around with guns and shit in their dashboards 'cause it's legal. :\ And it's not very diverse either, not that I had expected it to be. But we'll see.

Shit, I forgot to look for the Billboard mag with the *NSYNC ad in it while I was in Virgin. I *knew* I was gonna forget to do something.

My step-mom got me another gift, which I was like . Well actually, she traded it for one of her Louis Vuitton bags and ended up not liking it much so she gave it to me. I have wanted one of these Luella bags for like, two years, and I finally got one.

Yeah, I feel special.

As far as school goes, I got all of the classes I need almost. I have to take a drawing class, which I'm gonna do at CCSF. Actually, it's Fashion Illustration, which is what I'd rather take anyway because I need to get better with the 9 heads thing and drawing croquis. I already e-mailed the teacher, whom I've had before and she said it was okay for me to add because the class is already full. So once I actually add the class, I'll be happy as a pig in shit.

The Nip/Tuck finale was . I can't even summarize or talk about it 'cause I think I'm still processing. lol Plus, I thought I was gonna have Carver nightmares after that. :| lol But it was really good and I look forward to next season, especially since this is the first season that I actually started watching it.

Days of our Lives is SO getting on my nerves. They're reverting back to the old Sami/Austin/Lucas/Carrie love-square. Oh wait. And the drunken slut Nicole, throw her in there too. YAWN. I'm also sick of Marlena getting amnesia. I'm sick of Chelsea and wish she would have died in that accident. I'm sick of Kate being a hypocrite and meddling when her own life is shit. And WHY DON'T THESE PEOPLE WORK? Gawd. But I still watch it. I'm a glutton for punishment.

+ Hear my sigh of relief. Thursday was my last day of classes this semester, and besides the two finals I need to study for next week, I am happy as a clam. And bored. So bored. And when I'm bored, I want to spend money. Money I really don't have to spend considering that I became a bit generous to myself with my credit card again after Thanksgiving. I had been good for a couple of months but um, now? :| Plus, it's gonna be a whole nother month before my financial aid check comes to visit me, so that makes it even harder. But I must be good.

+ Me and some friends went out after our last class over to Olive Garden in the mall to have a pre-celebratory dinner to our celebratory dinner after finals. I had been up late (like everyone else) trying to finish a term paper that was due that afternoon and I was exhausted. Michelle and I went to the library to get handouts printed out, her paper binded and some copies of data for me during our break period, and when we left, I was like, "You know, I'd really like to just go to Chevy's, get a big margarita and veg out." And Michelle was like, "OOO. We can go after class!" since neither of us had lunch. So after our last class, she and some other friends and I went over to Olive Garden (which is next to Chevy's), had some drinks, a lot of breadsticks and pigged the hell out. I loved it. lol I was hongry too, not hungry, hongry.

+ Next Sunday the 18th, we're tentively planning on going to Crustaean, but it depends on who has the time off. I'm actually gonna e-mail everyone about it now.

+ And at some point next week, I think I'll be going to Arizona to see my dad and the new house. He just hasn't called me with the flight plan yet. We were talking about it yesterday so I figure he'll book flights this weekend if he hasn't already. I'd rather he come up here, or we all go somewhere tropical but whatever. lol Ima do that one year. Go somewhere hot for the New Year.

I am so annoyed. I bought those jeans for Michelle on Monday, and I called the customer service number today to see where the hell they were because I paid for 3-day shipping and hadn't gotten any sort of shipping or tracking info. This heifer told me that I wasn't going to get it until Wed the 30th.

...the fuck?

And when I said, ...the fuck? but nicer, she said that it was shipped on Wednesday and that Thursday and Friday were holidays. No shit, Sherlock, but I ordered it Monday. And she acted like I was the confused one, like 3-day shipping means that it should take over a week. I ordered some other stuff on Monday and it came today. So...wtf?

So I told Michelle that her gift was still in NJ and wouldn't be here until next week. She's not mad or anything because I know she didn't expect anything. But still. It's the principle of the whole thing.

I'm waiting on her to call me back 'cause she's still trying to pick some club to go to tonight. I'm like, don't ask me 'cause I've been to maybe two clubs since I turned 21. I'm not a club person.

We're gonna go eat at the Cheesecake Factory 'cause that's where she wants to go for sure. Other than that, I don't know.

I need to clean up my eyebrows a little and figure out something to wear. :\ I do not have any cute shoes either. I live in tennis shoes.

Yeah, so I braved the stores this morning and surprisingly, there weren't that many people out there. I was expecting to have to stab someone but nope.

So I went to Old Navy first, which is actually the only place I really wanted to go in the first place. And I got:

Then I went to Walgreens next door and got a banana since all I had was some tea before I left. And it's raining during all of this. Then I felt the chili I ate trying to work it's way out of me and went to Nordstrom 'cause they have nice bathrooms to go potty. After I looked around Nordstrom, I went downstairs to Victoria's Secret and saw that they had a ton of those free tote bags so I looked around for $50 of stuff I wanted and got this henley pajama set. I wanted this one but they only had a three different color sets left, so mine is a salmon pink with matching striped pants.

And because it was $45 and I had to spend $50, I got this padlock keychain, which was $10.

And then came to find out that the pajamas were on sale for $39, and everything was $49, so I had to buy something else. :| So I got this little sugar-free gum thing. I think they were like $5 or something.

Then I went to Sumbody and got some natural soap and a bonbon scrub. And now, I'm spent. My back has been killing me the past couple of days. I wish I had a man that would give me a damn massage.

I think I'm gonna do some homework today so I'm at least slightly productive. I still don't know what I'm gonna wear tomorrow for Michelle's birthday. I don't have any cute shoes. :| Having flat feet sucks.

+ Happy Thanksgiving to you all that celebrate it. I'm not really *celebrating* it even though my grandma made food over the past couple of days. We're just farting around all day, and I'm watching the DVDs I rented last night.

+ I watched Crash this morning and...wow. If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend it. It's disturbingly honest, but very well done. And now I'm in the middle of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which is kinda cute. After this, I'm gonna watch Madagascar and maybe actually eat some Thanksgiving food.

+ Johnny Depp really is a great actor. And weird. I like weird though. I wonder how he is in the sack.

+ Is anyone fathoming shopping tomorrow morning? I considered it, but I think I'm gonna shop online instead. If I went downtown, I swear I'd have to kill someone.

+ For some reason, I feel like making rice krispy treats. I haven't done that in eons.

+ Do you know that my grandma defrosted TWO sweet potato pies AND made a peach cobbler? I stood there like, WTF are you thinking? Then I asked her, "What the heck are you thinking? Are you gonna eat all that?" And she gave me this look like, "......." lol Crazy lady.

+ In my Nutrition class last night, we watched Super Size Me, which is really gross, especially on an empty stomach. I went to school last night and was kinda creeped out because half of the buildings were dark and pretty much everything was closed, including the vendors in the student center. So no dinner for me, and watching him gorge himself on McDeath just...ew. If you want french fries, get some potatoes and one of these and make them yourself. They'll probably taste better too.

There's a girl in my Product Development class group who is tiny and I found out that she had a 2-year old daughter. I was like, say what? She is like, the size of my pinky. You never think she had a kid at all.

+ My advisor/professor asked me if I could be apart of her presentation that she has to give to the President of the University and the provost (which I don't even know who/what that is), and I'm a little scurred, flattered but scurred.

+ I decided to take seven classes next semester. I only need four to graduate but the rest are gonna be activity classes to help me shed the extra blubber. So I'm planning on taking Aerobics again, plus Personal Fitness Program and Weight Training. Now if I don't have something good to report by the time I graduate, I'm hopeless.

+ I am not used to it getting dark so early. I don't like this. It's just about 6pm and I'd swear it was 9 o'clock.

+ Saturday is a friend of mine's birthday and we got her House of Dereon jeans because she lubs her some Beyonce. I just hope they arrive by Saturday. :\ We're also going to a club, the Velvet Lounge, which should be interesting. I don't know what the hell I'm gonna wear. I need something that covers my fat but isn't too hot. God, I hate shopping now.

+ I really hate when I try to write something one way and it doesn't work out, but I don't have time to start all over again so I have to try and make it work. I have a 10-20 page term paper due on Tuesday in my Historical Costume class, and my initial topic just...didn't work for what she wanted us to do (which doesn't make much sense in the first place), and now I've ditched that topic and am grasping for straws trying to make some sense out of what I do have. *sigh* I'm gonna have to go back to the library again just to check out or xerox some more info because she said 50% of our references need to be from books and right now, most are from the internet.

His new song "Wanna Love U Girl" has Pharrell on it and after listening to it, you can kinda tell. And you know how Pharrell has like hit or misses with a lot of his songs, I think this is a miss. It just doesn't work well with Thicke in my opinion. I liked his first album a lot and this song gets away from the music, the actually intruments. It just sounds like a beat they came up with on a computer. I hope the rest of his album is better.

+ I'm upset with my friend Michelle. She gave me her damn germs on Thursday when we went to Britex to get fabric, and I've been sick for the past two days. I've spent most of the day with toilet paper up my nose, feeling like I'm gonna pass out from having no energy. I got all this homework to do and no energy or ability to concentrate to do it.

+ Um, did any of you know the Lady of Soul Awards were on? Why don't they ever advertise this shit? And I'm watching it on VH1 of all places.

+ Who is this chick named Yummy? Whoever gave her that name needs to be slapped. There are a bunch of artists on here that I'm totally clueless about.

+ But I did become a new fan of this new artist Shoshana Bean. She performed "Aint No Way" as part of a tribute to Aretha Franklin with Brian McKnight (who discovered her I think) and killed it. You can listen to it on her site. Shit, half of the artist nominated for a Lady of Soul award can't sing as well as her. I was all set to give her an award after she performed. And her biography is pretty awesome; she even did backup vocals for *NSYNC, Christina, Luther and Michael Jackson. After seeing her perform, I understand why.

+ Dude, Foxy Brown is deaf. I feel bad for her especially since it happened damn near overnight.

+ My grandma left this morning for her cruise to Mexico. She'll be gone all week. I'm happy for her. Maybe she'll even get laid since her long time "friend" is taking her for free. She doesn't get to go anywhere, so it should be a nice experience for her. Shit, I wish I could go. lol

+ I didn't get a job offer from H&M. They sent one of those Thanks but no thanks postcards in the mail, so...yeah. I guess that's a sign that I need to focus on school, which, yeah, I definitely will be doing considering how much work I have to get done. I can't WAIT until this semester is over.

+ What also came in the mail is my last check from Target. I didn't know I had one, but I do. And so, I'm kinda looking at this money and wondering what I should do with it. I mean, save it, yeah, that would be smart. But at the same time, I can think of a zillion things I could do with it, like go to the dentist, get new eyeglasses (or just lenses), pay my phone bill (in the future), get a gym membership, etc. And then part of me wants to go buy a designer purse, or cash it and put it in a sealed envelope for my graduation vacation fund. I don't know.

+ What I do know is that I need a Fass Pass for October. There goes $45. Shit, it's October already. 2005 is almost over.

+ And my $61 cell phone bill is due by 10/9. *whines* Can I go back to kindergarten?
