I was sick Wednesday (didn't even eat!) and Thursday with what I guess was the flu - or at least that's what I've been told, I'm kind of dumb when it comes to these things - but DON'T PANIC - yes, I DID hear "Imagine" play and watch the New Year in! (I woke up from my nap in time.)
I actually wrote today and hopefully will write more later tonight and read Wuthering Heights. But it's me so let's not get our hopes up, yeah?
I'm really not at all excited to go back to school buttttttttttttttttt... such is life. The playoff games today have been good so far - up on the 2 minute warning of the Colts-Chargers game!
Hollatcha boy if you feel like it.

A Day in the Life is done. Really have some issues with the ending - Chapter 21, in particular - but I like the final chapter and what's done is done.
Got Dig Out Your Soul, and I absolutely love it (surprise, surprise). Waiting for the Rapture and I'm Outta Time and Falling Down = love.
Went to the State Fair, was bored, but I ate greasy food and saw a friend I haven't seen in a while so all in all a good day.
Really busy, but oh well. Need to write.

So. I really have not done anything at all today, besides watching CNN and, briefly, Swordfish on TNT. I've been listening to Wilco and the Verve and now Definitely Maybe, which for some reason always makes me very nostalgic. No clue why.
I've finally convinced myself to write some of the X-fic, which is ridiculously close to done but needs a LOT of editing. I'll probably edit ADitL today or tomorrow - it's weird to think that it's almost finished posting. Luckily, the HP WIP is still mercifully in its early stages. I need to write Tommy, but I just don't feel like it, so I won't until I garner some inspiration.
Today's probably going to consist of reading and not much else. I am SO exciting!!!!
Still following Gustav coverage. It looks like Jindal (from his press conference) and even Perry (not a fan of him) have all their shit together, but we'll see. Hopefully the preparations hold.

I SLEPT IN TODAY YAYYYYYYYYYYY!
Been a good day. Woke up, ate, had a baseball scrimmage, and then I came home and typed up some writing I had written in a notebook (parts of two stories added up to 1300 words together - huzzah!). Had fun with recording equipment and microphone effects. Frank Sinatra never sounded so evil (uh, yeah... I'll explain this sometime later, too lazy now).
Super Sunday is tomorrow! It's late, but I'm going to try to write from scratch a little more, perhaps add to what I've typed up or start something new. And then sleep time with my dogs. (YES PLURAL. PUPPY! He's already managed to chew up everything.)

Game 1 of the doubleheader tonight:
Rangers 30, Orioles 3
Holy shit. Modern-day record! (At least we don't completely suck.)
Anywho, been to a few museums lately for school, listened to some old Oasis demos (wow Noel Gallagher sounds weird) and The Clash's "London Calling" (one of my new favorite albums), and a bit of writing. Summer's ending and I'm perfectly indifferent towards it. Oh well.
And the guitarist from Dire Straits is a genius, as my guitar teacher will tell you. I'm considerably dumber than him when it comes to music but after going through that song I agree. Or at least some of his stuff is hard as hell to play.
(Ahaha, Noel Gallagher demos... I'll never get over these.)

Long entry ahead, so I have provided the (above) song for your entertainment - the code's being stupid so just click on the link for it. It's a little song called "Wonderwall" written by one Noel Gallagher of the band Oasis. This is a live, simplistic acoustic version and he's actually the one singing (not Liam), but it's a nice change, I think, albeit it sounds a bit more personal and vulnerable, a la "Talk Tonight" (wow, I know too much about Oasis). Oasis and Coldplay are my two main muses. They get me through the day. And if you haven't heard this song already, I'm ashamed. ( Whiney whine whine. Kind of. )

A few months back I gave a snippet of my story, "The Scientist". Well, I never really liked that version, so a few days ago I deleted it completely and am now reworking it. I'll post what I've written so far (I like it much better, although that's not to say I won't just rewrite this, too - I've been looking at it for five minutes and have all ready made as many changes). Tell me what you think, if you'd be so kind. I have yet to go back and edit it, so it needs the help.
( The Scientist, Draft Two )
And I adore this Neville icon. Neville was the best part about GoF.

A drabble that took about ten minutes to write.
Title: Feeling Useless Rating: 12+, PG, K+ Ship: none Word count: Upwards of 300, but not by much Warnings: HBP spoilers Disclaimer: Characters and situations belong to JK Rowling. Lyrics at the beginning and end are from The Mermaid Purse's "Tonight". Lyrics are not capitolized on purpose. Summary: 'Feeling useless, Hermione says, is not a bad thing.'
( There will be an end. )
Okay, and on a different subject...
I don't know how people juggle so many fics at one time. One of my favorite authors does, and Lily Evans on HPFF does, but I can't do it. Believe me, I've tried, but I think one WIP being posted at a time is good for me. Or at least a large WIP. If I've worked ahead and gotten a decent chunk of the fics done, then it's different, but I just can't deal with the pressure of it all. Constantly updating... well, it takes too much to do that for so many fics. That's me, but I like to focus on one or two ideas at a time, with the occasional drabble or one-shot to write something different.
Any thoughts?

Ah, I just woke up. Technically, I woke up at eight when this dog I'm taking care of came in to my room and stood on my head. It took me a little while to remember that standing on my head means that he has to go outside and answer nature's call.
He's the greatest little dog, though. I'm thinking of kidnapping him.
But his owner is my sister's friend, and he's kind of huge, so...
Nah.
I finally had one of those days when I was writing last night - you know, like when you're a little kid and you get exactly what you want for Christmas and you're like, "OMG Santa EXISTS!!!11!!" I started at around nine (at night) and when Julie started talking to me at 1:30, I'd somehow written 6,000 words. I slowed down after that, I finished with having written almost 7,000 words.
That would basically be my second-longest chapter ever by itself.
Uh huh. Writer's block seems to be gone. Now it's replaced by climaxophobia.'
Nyah.
I finally saw the cover for the UK version of Ptolemy's Gate, the third book of the Bartimaeus Trilogy (the fandom I was writing for last night). I'm ordering it straight from England, because it comes out in October in England and February here, but I'm threatening to get almost as fanboy-y as I did for HBP. Bartimaeus is amazing. He's single-handedly the best character I've ever read about.
Because snarky djinn are just too cool.
And I was suffering from lack of interest in Runaways so I took a little peak at nevacaruso's talkback about the True Believers arc. The one thing I saw...
Well, it got me interested again, and I think it's easy to tell what I saw from that.
*is stoked*
(Hey, I'm on a roll with predictions... first having the most accurate HBP predictions on the HPFF forums, and then this... although I still don't really know the details, I saw a bit of it. *whistles innocently*)
