So I'm leaving for Tampa Bay tomorrow on a bus for 20-odd hours. OH JOY. Packing has been a blast. If you enjoy folding clothes over and over and then packing them and trying to find room to squeeze them into your suitcase. If you don't enjoy such activities, then you probably wouldn't have found it entertaining.
School and all has been insane recently. It's been great, mostly, some major surprises and minor disappointments but for the most part life is good and very, very busy. I've been feeling very nostalgic. Found out some stuff about my family that I didn't know before, so that's probably just added to it. Spring is finally coming and it has been a very Harmonious weekend spent on Portkey's archives (so far).
Six word poem of the day:
Outward, weary traveler: the universe waits.

I was sick Wednesday (didn't even eat!) and Thursday with what I guess was the flu - or at least that's what I've been told, I'm kind of dumb when it comes to these things - but DON'T PANIC - yes, I DID hear "Imagine" play and watch the New Year in! (I woke up from my nap in time.)
I actually wrote today and hopefully will write more later tonight and read Wuthering Heights. But it's me so let's not get our hopes up, yeah?
I'm really not at all excited to go back to school buttttttttttttttttt... such is life. The playoff games today have been good so far - up on the 2 minute warning of the Colts-Chargers game!
Hollatcha boy if you feel like it.

I am such a nerd. *erases subject line*
Nothing too exciting going on. I've been pretty busy this week, obviously, reading and doing homework and geeking out on CNN coverage of the Democratic convention. Watched Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama's speech (not to mention Jesse Jackson, Jr, who impressed me).
The McCain choice of Palin is really bizarre, especially considering he's only talked to her once before. But it's a risky move - it could pay off and help him swing the election, but I really don't think it will. In fact, I think it's a pretty terrible move. He's not going to get enough Hillary voters to make it count (a lot of them, in fact, seem to be offended at his implication that they just wanted a woman), and the Obama campaign is absolutely going to skewer this woman after McCain's spent the entire campaign discrediting Obama for "lack of experience." I think a lot of voters will be scared that a first-term governor of one of the two "satellite" states who two years ago was the mayor of a town of 9,000... might be a heartbeat away from the presidency (with McCain's age, that risk only increases). While the VP debates may be ridiculously scripted, as they seem to be on occasion, I still think Biden will skewer her. McCain took his maverick reputation and put it on the line: he's risking becoming, as Bob Casey put it, a "sidekick." I think, ultimately, this move just handed the election to Obama for sure, but I thought McCain was going to lose anyways, and perhaps this speaks to his desperation. But I could be wrong. We'll see.

Ugh. School. Been doing homework (!) tonight. Fun, fun. I'm about to start reading The Road by Cormac McLaggen McCarthyism. We'll see how that goes.
Been writing, still. Might join in on the new prefect project if that ever amounts to anything. But that's a big "might" there.
Besides that I've watched a lot of Law and Order recently (I've come to the conclusion that cable TV is just way better than network, especially since it has all of the good netowork reruns). My internet went down again, but it's back up now, obviously. rekhyt_djinni, I think you're just bad luck or something.
Gah.

My Harry Potter muse seems to be alive and kicking once more. In fact, I got a [new] account on Harry Potter Fanfiction and posted a one-shot on both that site and FFNet, Constant Vigilance, about Sirius passing through the veil. Oddly, I got a review from someone that's never read one of my fics (and therefore doesn't have me on their alert list) and was placed on a favorites list within five minutes.
Sweet.
Oh, and I had my last "real" day of school before finals next week.
