I'm listening to 'Lovers in Japan' and randomly some muscle near my stomach started spasming along to the beat. It was odd.
(Did I mention I love this album? Yes?)
I've got a lot to do. When I say that I mean noshitI'vegotalottodookay. But in three months this should all be done, good riddance.
Don't know what to think about the newest A-Rod controversy. I watched Obama's press conference for a while and remembered why I've been such a political geek over the last year. I'm about to start a new book. I want to write but I'm too tired to make myself.
That is all.

JESUS CHRIST Viva la Vida get out of my head! I love this song but HOT DAMN. I can't stop hearing Jerusalem bells a-ringing, Roman cavalry choirs singing... (terrible joke.)
Went to my last game in Texas Stadium and they wonnnnn! pwnz0rs! And I saw Quantum of Solace today and thought it was really good. Between QS and Role Models it's been a damn good weekend, and hopefully Zack and Miri will just make it better and Twilight won't suck.
Keynes is incredibly difficult but enlightening.
Chris Martin quote of the day: if you're from Texas, won't you let me know? (Yeah I totally went to that concert on Wednesday. Booyakasha.)

Okay, so I've been listening to VLV for the past three days (and, in addition, Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief by Radiohead, both of which I recently obtained), but VLV is definitely the best of the three so far. I really hate to say this so soon, but I think it might be Coldplay's best album. It doesn't have a weak song, unlike their previous three. Violet Hill is a song I've never been a huge fan of, but it's still very listenable. Parachutes was an extremely solid album, and A Rush of Blood to the Head had spectacular songs, while X&Y expanded their musical pallete - VLV is a perfect combination of the three. This feels like the album I have been WAITING for Coldplay to make.
And it's such an uplifting album! I mean, it's got its moments of haunted beauty, but it never seems like everything's gone to hell - on Parachutes, We Never Change, and Sparks, on AROBTTH, Warning Sign and The Scientist, on X&Y, The Hardest Part and Swallowed by the Sea. VLV's songs are just as gorgeous and with their moments of pessimism, but as a whole it feels like a much more optimistic album. I think the best way to sum it up is a line from Strawberry Swing - "It's such a perfect day."
Eno and Dravs did wonders producing this. It sounds like U2 and Arcade Fire, obviously, but better. Buckman has really gone all Edge on this, not that I'm complaining. X&Y, I thought, suffered from really sketchy production - songs like Low, White Shadows, and What If were bogged down with this just soggy synthesized sound that really didn't work. The Hardest Part had the same kind of production, but it overcame it. What made it so frustrating was that X&Y, Twisted Logic, Fix You - the production on those was perfect! This album is much more consistent, and much more beautiful than anything they've ever done.
I'm so happy right now. Thank God for Coldplay. Radiohead did their bit with In Rainbows, and now Coldplay's done theirs with VLV. Focus is on you, Oasis! That album this fall better be damn good to live up to my expectations now!

Ummmmm well. Done with most my schoolwork, so I'm going to start writing more - yay! Really excited about that. I've been reading a lot, as has been the case for the last month or two, and I'm just really looking forward to the summer... especially VIVA LA VIDA (or Death and All His Friends). Not in love with Violet Hill, although it's fun to sing along to, but Viva la Vida (the song) is one of my new favorites and from what I've heard of Lovers in Japan, it's a good mix of Parachutes and U2.
Anywho, no idea when I'll work on Tommy, but hopefully soon. Still trying to finish that Evo fic, but the going's slow on that one. I went to a Radiohead concert recently, and it was worht every penny. Thom Yorke is a crazy bastard, but it was awesome - the crowd was psyched, they had to come out for two encores. Radiohead = teh awsum.
No real exciting plans for any time soon. Hopefully I'll be able to make it down to my friend's lakehouse, and I'm excited to spend time in Boston (especially) and then New York in early July, and spending a few days in Austin later that month should be fun.
So. Gotten new inspiration from watching an episode of Evo last night on Veoh (they took a lot of the episodes off!), so I should go write.
(Viva la vida!)

Wow, it's been a while. Not really much to update. Working on an X-Men: Evo WIP, trying to get inspired for Tommy. Edited my header with the alleged lyrics of an unreleased Coldplay song called "42" (ahhhhhh Coldplay/Hitchiker!).
Tired. Time to go!
