Last night Katie had a valentines disco and we decorated and made cupcakes and there was lots of food and dancing and posh frocks, suits and silly dancing - then I slept for 12 hours and I've spent all day watching come dine with me in my pjs and a hoodie drinking nice beer and eating leftover cupcakes.
All in all a very good weekend. I just wish it wasn't monday tomorrow.
All in all a very good weekend. I just wish it wasn't monday tomorrow.
I have a very strange hangover, for a start I am still deeply deeply suffering it at half eight at night and for another thing its been weirdly trippy but thats most likely because I have felt about to fall asleep at any moment. I blame the wine fair I was at yesterday, drinking that many kinds of wines and spirits in one day has got to strange things to your body.
BUT fun was had, even if making it there meant getting soaked to the bone for the third time this week - including an attack of hailstones on friday - but at least all the wine meant I soon warmed up again and found nice fairly cheap wines to drink. (One of the nicest ones was only £4.50, yay.) We went back to Duffy's later with the intention of going out but more booze and only a little food later that wasn't going to happen.
Today though having a fucker of a hangover and barely being able to move from the sofa I've had a pretty good day catching up on x factor, listening to jarvis on 6 music, watching hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and listening to Doctor Who on BBC 7 and eating everything I could lay my hands on while wearing Andy's pjs and these ridiculous long cozy socks I stole off cris duffy yesterday. I think thats what sundays are made for.

1. It was my birthday since I last posted in here, oh look I'm 24 now. I had a wonderful birthday and went out to see benga at the subclub. There are pictures but nobody wants to see them, as we were all so drunk that the photos are a mess of unintentionally awful expressions and everyones hair stuck to their head. One of my friends was sick on me ON MY BIRTHDAY and I was in such a good mood I almost didn't care. Almost. I got some ace presents including skins boxset and the prettiest dress from andy and gemma got me a brilliant veggie recipe book that I've had my head stuck in ever since.
2. I got a job! It starts in september so I should stop being quite so skint soon but it is call centre which I am not so keen on but I have applied for a couple of civil service jobs so maybe I'll hear back from them before I start. Its mildly depressing to think there was no point in going to college and I should of at least kept on my revenue job but oh well.
3. I have myself on a disturbingly healthy diet and exercise plan at the moment which is part awesome new recipe book and part trying to get out of bad habits cause by looong weekends and eating lots of nonsense during the looong hangovers. I have also started drinking hot water in place of some of the gallons of tea I normally drink. But not all I don't really think I could get through a day without some sort of tea.
4. Speaking of long weekends I had the best one ever recently at Duffy and Richie's moving in party (and pre and after party at Jude, Lauren and Smemples) saw lots of old faces and had a wonderful time, I drank too much, smoked too much and stayed up forever but it was really really fun. I think I'd need another month before I could have a weekend like that again.
5. For his 21st my brother is getting a bouncy castle and a party I think this is unfair, I only got a party but I will take full advantage of the bouncy castle because I am more like four than 24. Carl and my parents are in belgium just now a pukkelpop. I am well jealous. I think that makes it five festivals my parents have been at this year.
6. Due to the boredom that comes with being unemployed I read the first two twilight novels, I sort of wish I hadn't and yet want to read the other too. They are compulsively awful and I am quite amused by the idea of sparkly vampires. Oh and boredom probably explains watching One Tree Hill and Gilmore Girls every day on e4 (and liking it). I have no-one to blame but myself.
7. I do mostly just watch tv to see the sweetie advert where one sweet talks to another about how they are made from natural things and the other sweet just shouts BRING ON THE TRUMPETS. Its amazing, if only all adverts were up to this idiotic and wonderful standard.
8. I finally, finally got my digital radio to retune and get bbc 6 music to listen to while I cook, I did a small victory dance but I have no idea what button I pressed but I got lots more radio stations while just trying to get away from scouting for girls.
9. Playing drinking games to Doctor Who where you make up the rules as you go along and polish off two bottles of wine each and then going out to see your just started drinking friends is not a good idea. I cringe to think of myself last saturday. The drinking game part was really fun but I do think Andy and I were just drinking at anything by the end. 'Oh look a tree' DRINK. Much, Much less wine will be consumed this week.
10. I saw the X-files! And I really enjoyed it, it was more like a big episode than a film but thats probably why I liked it. The only think I didn't like was Mulder's beard. that was rubbish. Ooo and I saw The Dark Knight, which was so good one of the best films all year, really wonderful and really dark and entirely too scary for a 12, it was maybe a little too long but that was my only quibble with it. And I love Gary Oldman so much in it.
11. I have been watching first series new who reruns on bbc 3 and remembering that I really like Rose, and she only really annoyed me after she was off and getting mentioned all the time like she was the be all and end all of companions.

In the past week I have consumed an awful lot of cheap wine, it all started last thursday which gave me a headache for going into the jobcentre on thursday and didn't help when my lovely computer crashed and lost my job application so I had to complete it by hand in the jobcentre and then run into town and hand it in, five mintes before it closed. And you should see my handwriting normally - good god it is horrible. Much more wine was consumed on friday at a cinema marathon where I had to go and see Mama Mia because I didn't want to go and see a scary film but it turned out to be better than my admittedly low expectations, I really should of just gone home and not gone to see Journey to the centre of the earth 3D but I am powerless against 3D Glasses, it was one of the worst examples of a film I have ever seen and having a cinema card has meant seeing a lot of nonsense. Saturday was spent at Katie's eating food and cakes and playing scattergories and shouting at each other, all in all lots of fun but on sunday I think I might die.
This does not stop me from going out to optimo though on almost no money and smuggled in wine - really really cheap wine this time and it was pretty quiet because it was T in the park weekend so that was ace and I got to dance a lot but I probably shouldn't have stayed up until half one on monday afternoon drinking loads more and playing backseat chess. That was the last of the cheap wine but I still don't feel right now. ugh.
Aside from adventures with alcohol I have been watching the Sarah Jane Adventures, I'd only seen one episode before but its a lot better than I thought it would be and I have lots of love for Maria, oh and tons of Tom Baker Dr Who but we are jsut bout to watch the story where Sarah Jane leaves which will make me sad. Oh Dr Horrible's sing a long blog, which I woke Andy up to watch this morning and is ace. I need a Sarah Jane icon...
In a completely different direction, I wonder why I feel the need to ramble on like a fanny when faced with a difficult situation.

So I downloaded a client guy and I shall see how this works.
I say guy for too much, I call everything a guy and I can't stop doing it argh!
My mum and dad are back from barcelona and are coming to pick up soon and I am excited to see them, its very strange when they go on holiday because even though I don't live with them I speak to them about three times a day normally so I am left feeling a bit strange. As if to compensate my brother has been sending me pictures of dalek merchandise all week. oh dear. dr who really has eaten my brain and i think carl's too. It was bound to happen we were sci fi partners in crime when we were little it was and still is about the only thing we agree on.
( more on dr who, kill me nowCollapse )
Oh and I went to fife this weekend and had a wonderful time we went paddling in the sea in the middle of the night on friday and threw duffy a surprise birthday party. On saturday we went for a three and a half hour walk along the fife costal path and it was absolutely beautiful. It was so sunny and lovely and we took a few beers and the views were amazing, it was one of the best days I have had and now I have a tan hurray, I will post some photos once i can get them off my phone!

I have finally worked out a way of getting photos off my phone, uploading them directly to the internet. It takes bloody ages though!

norman, me and gem at optimo for gemma's birthday, my aren't i glittery?

me and the newly returened jude-y in almost the exact same dress
Our new favourite game for photos is to pull the poser-y faces we can while the person taking the photo shouts act natural! This is good because then at least if you look stupid in photos, you can pretend it was on purpose. (And I wont want to cry every time i see me doing the one eye open one eye shut face that keeps happening when people take photos of me - every time i see a camera EYES OPEN WIDE LORI just goes through my head.)
In the past couple of weeks I have:
- thrown a sucessful surprise party for gemma's birthday, where she was actually surprised and we made a tasty birthday cake
- celebrated gemma's birthday in customary style i.e. all weekend and into the bank holiday monday which was beautifully sunny and i spent in kelvingrove park on no sleep and lots of alcohol
- spent a lot of time in queens park with a book and fruit and no tights (hurrah for sunshine and a park less than 5 mins away)
- got a wee bit of a tan
- had my wisdom tooth come through, rather painfully and taken an awful lot of painkillers
- had bonkers dreams, all very sci-fi some relating to Dr Who, some just on space ships but with lots of running and being shot at
- applied for lots of jobs
- enjoyed houswifery, well mostly baking and made a soup too spicy to eat
- had a bbq at kevlingrove park and drank boozy smoothies
- got one of these guys
- got far too into dr who
Does anyone know any good wisdom teeth pain remedies, it is killing me here, i can't close my mouth properly!

I am ill, both andy and i are actually with this evil cold thing that has made me dizzy and made all my muscles ache. This has put my studying out a bit so I may have to cancel my planned day trip up to largo on saturday to hang out with gemma and norman.
I have pages of shorthand from watching torchwood the other night that i will write up when i get some energy but instead i have been watching season 1 and 2 of Buffy. Oh the fun, I love it so. I may be annoying Andy by constantly giving him trivia facts about it, I can't help it.

So this weekend we went to stay at Gemma's mum's flat in Largo, Fife. Andy had to stay at home because of work (booo) but there was still nine of us going and when we set off on friday ther weather was beautiful and stayed that way mostly until we came home on sunday, it made us all want to go on a proper holiday even more.
