I hate it when it's summer, and I have noooo time to read

mood: busy
Yeah, I also hate it when the subject line says my entire post for me.

Yes, I've been a busy girl as of late, and still have a bunch of my current book to do-I almost feel as though I've been neglecting it..

But other then that, nothing new. Except for I'm now starting to look at the idea of a library card with a tiny bit more fondness. It's either that or I get a job at a bookstore. And, because something is seriously messed up, you have to be 18, and well..I'm not. So that rules out that one. *Sigh*

Ok. Done now.

  Bought some books this weekend.

A Sarah Dessen and..The Notebook-I have to read all of Nicolas Sparks' books right after I see the movie. New tradition for me. And I've only read A Walk to Remember too.

Blah blah blah blah blah, right? Yeah..

I just finished The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery. Although I didn't find it to be one of her best novels, I wasn't let down. She writes beautifully, never failing to put me in a good mood. They all do end happily, so tend to be somewhat predictable, but that's not what a good books about.

A good author is one that is able to make you enjoy the journey, no matter what said ending may be. And L.M. Montgomery is one of those writers.

In this book, I think everything was tied together beautifully. The recurring mention of John Foster was sewn in flawlessly, mainly to prove a point. I found it amazing.

I love her work, and appreciated the book, because I love her work. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who hadn't had a taste of her yet. And for that, I'd suggest Emily of New Moon and the rest of that trilogy. Yes, there are trilogies that aren't LOTR. I know, hard to believe, right?

I went to a fairly decent bookstore (in Okemos, we have absolutely nothing closer then that. I hate Jackson), and I actually couldn't find anything. Shoot me now. I don't want to live.

Pimpness

mood: cheerful

I've found a couple new communities, and I'm about to pimp them.  No, I don't talk like this, I just...thought it would be fun for the moment.

[info]bigcomfycouch - Right now, I think they're posting Pride and Prejudice

[info]everydayreader -They're posting Peter Pan

These communities get books from Project Gutenburg, and then they post them on the journal.  Brilliant.  I'll probably be using that a lot now.  The website, not necessarily the communities.  Although they're great too, but I read just a little more then a chapter a day....

Project Gutenburg- A site of FREE ebooks.  Yup, they're free.  And there's a ton of 'em.  Cool right?  Right.  Now GO!

I've linked it a thousand times-DO IT!

  To Kill A Mockingbird-Harper Lee

Awesome, probably the best thing that I've ever read. I love it. Harper Lee has a brilliant mind, and I just love every word that comes from it. The charactors are great, and I actually loved all of them. That only has happened before with L.M. Montgomery and Madeleine L'Engle. I just love it.
