Tootoo Part I [10 Sep 2009|05:25pm] Finally, the mad rush to send all the Balenciaga-Inspired Jackets is OVEEEERRRRRR. Thank God BC is taking a short break now, we all can finally have a breather.. Both Jie&Rach are away (miss you two already x), and I have to spend as much time as I can with Fweddypong before he leaves for the U.S. of A on Monday. Booo, how depressing. Anyhow, I had a splendid time celebrating my birthday last week. Can't believe I actually had a whole week-long of celebrations. It's not like I wanna pop champagne at turning tootoo.. I wanna be forever twenty one. Really. But I had fun nonetheless.. Thanks to great pals. You guys really deserve all my love xx I am really blessed with an over-abundance of all things tangible and intangible, in every sense of the word. And I am nothing but grateful for that :) Okay, so I have 432 birthday photos, 72 photobootd ones, random ones in all the other pals' cameras and a couple of vids; I really don't know where to start! Dearest Rach, Thank you for always always being so thoughtful and for being the angel that you are. You never fail to always be there for me in tears or in joy, and you never fail to crack me up.. You're the most genuine person and the closest friend to me; you mean the world to me. P.S. The presents are only a bonus to what you've already done for me! To Gege, Wei Tse and Via, I thank God that I met you girls through Rach :) You girls have been nothing but lovely and supportive and you girls will be the only reason I'll convert to an East-Sider ;) We're gonna plan soooo hard as bridesmaids ok!!! :) Bea, We've blossomed from working partners to friends; you're the sweetest person to work with and the cutest friend to have. You don't know how much we appreciate all your hard work and even if we don't get a chance to work tog in future, you'll always be our (foodie) Bea :) Thank you for the amazing cake. Clare, You, Rach and I got to know each other through rather unfortunate circumstances but we can't be more thankful to have you as our friend. Thanks for always being there for Rach when I'm not (hee) and being the great person/friend that you are. We've got plenty of dinners to look forward too and plenty more conversations ( about you know what ;) ) to have over dessert. I can't wait to use all my pretty things from you! Thank you for the surprise, I couldn't have had it any way else. All the love in the world, Vel -- I haven't been hibernating contrary to what it may have seemed from my last entry. I've been rather cheerful thanks to the Teppanyaki party on Sat, Fung whom I've been forcing to play mahjong (my latest most scary vice) with, the Mountain Cat durian & 126 dim sum pig-outs on Sundays, the word 'perserverance', the short but very happening Skype session with Teo, mee siam and very kind encouragements from dear customers. So much so that I'm in the mood for a outfit post!! :) I love flouncy skirts!! This amazing raw-hem tweed shoulder blazer I got is so Chanel + Balmain-ish, that's what I lovelovelove about the boutiques in Siam!! I'm still trying to find the right fabric to manufacture it in though.. If you girls are skeptical about the strong shouler look, please don't be. I have the broadest shoulders any girl can have and yet I'm hooked! I know we have tons of these throwovers but you can never have too many! They really are your saviours when you can't think of what to wear. & I looooove my bandage skirt. It's so super versatile. Can't wait for my samples to be back! My favourite of the lot! That's what happens when Jie&Rach come over for shoots -  I get first-hand picks ;) Can't really see the details here but Rach just launched this dress on BC.. YOU MUST GET ONE! Gotta scooot off to Angie's now! Please, Excuse Me [22 Aug 2009|12:24am] If you know me well enough, you probably also know I have this innate ability to go MIA for a couple of days that turn quickly into weeks. I have so many little voices in my head speaking to me right now it's annoying me to no end, and all I want to do is list every single one of them right here right now. But if I do so I'll probably be left jobless, friendless and loveless. And no, I wouldn't want that, so screw it. Now with a can of Budweiser and my crisp new notebook-turned-diary, I shall attempt to conquer the demons in me. Just for the record, I'm in one of my foulest of moods this entire year. Thankfully my birthday is soon and that calls for a celebration of somesort, and given my acutely poor attendance as a member, I'm rather surprised the management at Zouk upgraded me to Velvet Membership. But these scarcely lifts my spirits. So if you would, pardon me.
