I WILL LOVE YOU ON A BENTLEY, I WILL LOVE YOU ON A BUS [26 Sep 2008|09:41pm]
UGHH driving around with all the road closures is a serious chore!! Every lane is just packed with cars cars vehicles cars and more cars. What's with these drivers who travel on the rightmost lane at 80km/h? That's what I do on Bella on the last lane! Damn these people who road hog; an expressway is not called an expressway for nothing! An expressway doesn't have four lanes for nothing! Sorry, I just needed to get this outta my system. This is when riding comes into good use, but poor Bella's gotta be sent to the workshop for repairs tmw :(

Ok, so the road closures aren't annoying anymore... cos I just caught the Channel5 live coverage of the F1 practise rounds with freddy and my sisters, and I must say Singapore's track is pretty damn amazing! I'm excited at how everything worked out and how Singapore is the hottest city to be in right now, with all the hype and festivities. It's F1 baby, the most viewed sport in history and where the highest paid sportsmen belong. But as much as an F1 fan Fred has made me out to be, he convinced me that there's no use getting tickets to watch any live races. Cos no doubt all the action's best captured on tv! And that's why we're gonna catch the race at the airport before our flight to Bali. Being at the live race in Monaco's definitely in my before i die list though.

Well, enjoy the hustle and bustle of the F1 weekend lovelies :)

SHINY HAPPY FITS OF RAGE [19 Sep 2008|01:23am]
"I made a decision about Doreen last night. I decided I would watch her and listen to what she said, but deep down inside I would have nothing at all to do with her. Deep down, I would be loyal to Betsy and her innocent friends. It was Betsy I resembled at heart. Quietly I stepped back into my room and shut the door. On second thoughts, I didn't lock it. I couldn't quite bring myself to do that. When I woke up in the dull, sunless heat the next morning, I dressed and splashed my face with cold water and put on some lipstick and opened the door slowly. I think I still expected to see Doreen's body lying there in the pool of vomit like an ugly, concrete testimony to my own dirty nature."
-Sylvia Plath 'The Bell Jar'

This has been something that's on my mind lately.

Aless came over today with loads of Vitamin C for me, and was all geared up with her mani/pedi set with the intentions of painting my nails bright pink so I'll feel better. She even brought her diamantes, how sweet is that. We then spent most of the time working on her scrapbook for Ben. That somehow triggered a huge surge of creative juices and made me wanna write a card to all my pals! I didn't of course, considering how lazy I was this hot sunny afternoon. Instead, I curled up and started on a new novel! I also heeded Rach's advice to go for a jog to sweat it out and detox. I shall not elaborate, but gone were the days where 2.4 was a 12min walk in the park. I admit I was overtly ambitious.. hah

Enough about my boring stayhome friday, onto happy things!

There's something about major hotels that really captivates me. Maybe being in one makes me feel somewhat insignificant esp when I'm surrounded by this twomilliondollar painting, that tenthousanddollar lampshade, or that Chanel boutique - that sort of decadence, if you know what I mean. I can't seem to string that thought into words right now, so maybe another time.

Anyhoots, I love The Venetian! It makes me happy. I much prefer the Macau one.. maybe cos it's newer, I hit the tables there and we got to stay in a really nice suite. Too bad we didn't stay long enough in Las Vegas to catch the opening of The Palazzo; I'd probably never wanna leave.

xx

OPEN UP YOUR PLANS AND DAMN, YOU'RE FREE [18 Sep 2008|10:42pm]
I haven't logged into this acc in ages! Been caught up with so many things lately.
But for these two weeks before under-the-sun-cos-there's-nothing-to-do-except-be-under-the-sun-24/7-Bali, imma goodietwoshoes hibernating at home cos my skin needs to heal. Well it BETTER heal before the trip. My parents find it really amusing that I'm home, and every time they see me they'll go "wah vel what you doing at home, such a good girl ah?"... "what happened to your skin, got see doctor a not?"... "go see specialist lah, how to go Bali like that"... "wah my good girl staying at home ah?"...
Sometimes I wonder what I can do to keep my parents healthy and prevent them from becoming senile next time. Cos comeon, they're gonna be considered senior citizens pretty soon. I'd definitely give my life to take care of them next time, but it'd be kickass if they can remain healthy. Now they're out at Morton's & the Singapore Flyer celebrating their wedding anniversary and I seem to be the most updated about it haha I beat my sisters to that.
I caught all 3eps of GGS2 today, emailing Rach in between (I read this book about this lady who sends instant messages and emails and write cards to her two bestfriends) and somehow it warmed my heart and filled my day quite a bit. For quite a while I was having Jason Mraz's I'm Yours on repeat, logging in and out of Freddy's Oanda acc to help him with his trades here and there, and that pretty much sums up my day with lots of snacking in between.

Ok, that was pretty boring. I'll show my condition to anyone who brings me bird's nest, I mean it.

I TALK ABOUT WORK; I HAVE NO LIFE [28 Aug 2008|02:20am]
Working so hard (like 10am-12am) every day for the first major project of my life, and not being able to be on set is just killing me.. it's, like, reeeeeeally killing me. No, seriously. Like what Vivi said, it just makes you incomplete. Moreover it's not just any normal TVC.. It's a pretty damn huge one. That also means that shoot days are gonna be so filled with fun fun fun.
I am so determined to book an early ticket back from Hong Kong. And that will be most confirmed if Bryan gets selected as one of the main roles. So far casting (the department I'm working with) has been doing a pretty swell job, and two of MY friends have been shortlisted for the main roles *teehee*.. plus I'm gonna get all the guys to play extra roles, so that means shoot days are gonna be even more fun fun fun.

Having 4-5hrs of sleep a day, and practically no life is so not cool. It'll only be worth it if I get to be on set. I have to seek permission cos afterall my family booked it to celebrate my 21st. Speaking of which, it's next week and I'm too lazy/tired to organize anything..... but I have to cos I miss my pals :(

Well night all, I promise a more interesting read the next time :)
