| For those who don't know, I just had a tooth pulled on Thursday. My jaw is all swollen, but it's ok. I have vicodin.
Unfortunately, vicodin and my stomach don't get along.
I just vomited milk and pop tarts into my sinus cavity.

I feel a lot better now, though.

| Ignore the issues for a moment and face it. What's more likely to happen, that McCain will stroke out and die while in office, or that Obama will be assassinated by a radical conservative wingnut? I'd say it's pretty much a toss-up.
So whom do you want a heartbeat away from the presidency, a long-time senator with experience on both the Senate Judiciary and Foreign Relations committees, or someone whose total political experience amounts to two terms on a small-town city council, two terms as that small town's mayor, a brief state committee appointment, and not quite two years as governor of a state containing fewer people than Columbus, Ohio?
What it does mean, though, is that Republicans will be forced to STFU about the "experience" issue. If Palin has enough experience to be qualified in the event of an emergency, then Obama's a senior player.
And when I factor the actual issues back into the equation, it makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit. I, a Hillary supporter, am supposed to fall in line with the Republicans because of this choice? I don't think so. I don't think so at all. Is that all the more regard McCain has for my intelligence and my commitment to the issues, that any vagina, however well used, will do? If his perception is that Hillary's campaign and her supporters were about that, then he has wildly miscalculated his choice of vice-president. She endorsed Pat Buchanan, fer cryin' out loud!
What makes me most sad and angry, though, is that when you read what most people have to say about her in the blogosphere, it's about her physical appearance and sex appeal. It's all they know about her! Given her "unknown" quality and the fact that she's come way out of left field into the spotlight from somewhere few people know jack about, the only thing that seems to be worth noting about her is that she is pretty and seemingly fuckable. Somehow this old-time feminist was hoping that a woman's being nominated for high office at long last would be something we could readily distinguish from her being a Playboy bunny. We've come a long way, baby. Or not. - Mood:gloomy

| This entry was inspired by a set of comments (on an entry written by a friend) about abortion, I didn't want to hijack the thread, so I'm opening a forum in my own journal. :)
Respond to this if you like, say whatever you want to. Or completely ignore it. I'm going to open this up publicly and allow anonymous posting with no IP logging, just to give you a safe place to let loose anything you need to say.
EDIT: FIXED!! Anonymous posting is enabled now. >.< Sorry about that debacle.
Somebody I once knew used abortions for "family planning" she should have had 8 kids [when we fell out of contact], but has only 2. To abuse a 'right' (a person can have a termination before 12 weeks at a few clinics in the state I was living) because they got too caught up in the heat of the moment to use protection just begs the question: where the hell is responsibility for our actions if we can just selectively delete our mistakes?
That makes me VERY angry.
How do YOU feel about abortion? My overall opinion will be in the comments with others.

| In my head, I'm a very good liar. In my head. | |

| On the plus side, the weather has been so gray today that I'm kind of glad that we weren't able to go to the Ex.
Someone suggested going on Sunday, but there's also a suggestion to go to Centre Island. So probably gonna get to do something sometime.
Today is the wife's birthday, so I guess I should get her a card, eh?

| My kiddo's favorite chicken (Raven) sits on her lap to get petted and tries to get underneath her when she's sitting, as if my kid was a mom hen and Raven is a chick. Sometimes Raven tries to jump into Bean's lap when she's standing up, which is funny. But every day, after she finally lays her egg, she's like a new bird, and yes, she'll still stand next to Bean, but Bean can't touch her anymore and she'll run away if Bean tries to pick her up.
It's like a brand new heartbreak every day.

| i'm convinced that the best way to piss him off is to become a nihilist. pretend he's not even there, that there's no purpose and that there's no way to even come up with a purpose if you tried...
it's the ultimate "fuck you" to your parents, your creator and humanity all at once.
i'm just saying. | |

| There's not enough time in an hour or even a thousand hours to explain it all the way I would need to, so I don't.
And nobody who hasn't been there themselves could ever possibly understand what it's like. Which is why I hate therapists and their "sympathy" at $75 an hour. Haven't I been through enough already, and now you want to pick my pocket because there's a diploma on your wall? Fuck off.

| there's a cricket in my studio and it sounds big. like it's 3" long or longer and has a greasy, shiny belly. like it's got twitchy legs. like it's waiting to spring onto my neck and kill me the second i relax. like it eats black widows for breakfast, lunch and dinner and uses bee stingers to clean it's mandibles afterwards.
i didn't know you could have a cricket phobia until today.

| This teaching says that all sentient beings possess the true mind of emptiness and quiescence, whose nature is without exception fundamentally pure. Bright, unobscured, astute and constantly aware, it constantly abides to the end of time. It is called Buddha-nature; it is also called tathagatagarbha and mind-ground. Because from time without beginning it has been concealed by false thoughts, sentient beings cannot realize it, and thereby experience birth and death. The Supremely Enlightened, feeling pity for them, manifests in the world to proclaim that all dharmas characterized by birth and death are empty, and to reveal the complete identity of this mind with all the Buddhas.

| Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.
This is a new LJ account for me and I am looking to use it for my esoteric work and for networking with other occultists and martial artists. I don't have any friends and don't have much up yet. But I will in the future! And I think it will be interesting. So here I am. You can call me Frater Syrinx. I am a member of Ordo Templi Orientis and a student in the A.'.A.'., soon to be, hopefully, a probationer. My interests include Tantra, martial arts, dark stuff, ceremonial magick (robes and all), and the use of music for occult purposes. I am a thelemite. I am also interested in writing grimoires or illuminated texts for the purpose of my own pleasure, profit and the enlightenment and entertainment of my fellow human beings. I am fairly well versed in the basics, but only the basics. However I have a lot of ideas about all the rest of it.
Love is the law, love under will.

| The ascension of the original Superhero continues. It looks amusing, and since they only make six to eight episodes of each show, it won't get a chance to wear out its welcome. I do like how one of the characters seems to use her power only for petty theft. Plus, Smart Car! Via gamera_spinning. edit: ObDr.Who She Force is played by Rebekah Staton, who played the nurse/Mother of Mine in Family of Blood. | |

| I made a bit of an idiot of myself in front of my principal this afternoon. We were arranging a library schedule, and I mentioned that we needed to factor in the upcoming schedule changes so the switch-over would be smoother. I told her I was very excited to be getting my kids back. And then I started to cry.
Jeez. | |
