the schedule

This has been a pretty awesome week so far, even though I have no money(as a result of spending way too much, as usual) and no honey. Or maybe having great company from friends and family makes up for the no-money-no-honey bit. And you know, I was looking through all my previous entries in 2008 and I realized that the majority were rather cynical, cryptic and generally unhappy huh? I'm sure you must be relieved for a more upbeat entry this time round though :)

I list down all the events this week and the next as a reminder of the fun times I've had and will continue to have, during my last month here in Singapore :) And also because I am a freak when it comes to structure. (In fact I created an Excel spreadsheet for my packing list!)

Monday (05/01) - Spent bumming around at home. Well, not exactly, because I whipped up pasta for the first time ever! Quite a progress for me, you know. Because prior to this, my idea of cooking equated to pouring hot water over a cup of instant noodles. Mum has been teaching me to unleash my inner domestic not-so-goddess in the kitchen, in a bid to make sure that I can cook some basic dishes before I leave.

Tuesday - Went back to NUS with Peiwen to collect my exchange programme award letter as well as pay for my plane ticket. (I am travelling by Thai Airways!! Good God, I hope those protestors don't start all that catastrope at the airport once more because I am due to transit at the Suvarnabhumi Airport en route to Frankfurt) Peiwen and I are indeed excited for our trip, and we are going to be roomies! Our first time staying in a hostel too.

And afterwards I caught up with dear Nadia, and we checked out Bugis Village. And I found many clothes that are being sold at blogshops, but even so, a good majority of them are even higher-priced than those online! Got rather disillusioned ... guess I will stick to blogshopping instead.

Wednesday - Met Van and Michelle for lunch, followed by coffee and finally, the Twilight movie. Those girls are my council buoys :) I feel like I got closer to Van only after our JC days but hey, all's good. And Twilight ... ahh, needless to say I fell in love with Edward Cullen. His character though (think brooding, melancholic hotness - bloody sexy!), not his looks. Methinks he was cuter back in Harry Potter though.

Thursday - Went out with Beetsma and Qiling to celebrate the latter's 21st! Oh, what would I do if I hadn't met them in German class back in Year 1, Semester 1!

And it was followed by dinner with dearest cousins. Sitting at a coffee shop, drinking teh peng and then hanging out under the void deck are the most liberating activities, actually.

Friday - Another round of Cooking Lessons 101 by the Mother, and then dinner with Khee Hoon, Osha and Soon Ying. Secondary school friends whom I have not seen in 34289 donkey years!

Saturday - Lunch/dinner with Jacqueline. And maybe a session with the boys from the band too.

Sunday - Lil' bro teaching me how to cook baked pasta!

Monday (12/01) - Japanese lunch with Mingying, who's back from the States.

Tuesday: Free, but I want to spend it at home. Visited my granny at the hospital, followed by dinner in town with my sister.

Wednesday: Band meeting, and possibly a meet-up with either Joy or Elizabeth before that. Dental appointment and impromptu outing with Di, BFF!

Thursday - Dental appointment, going to the John Little Warehouse Sale with my mum after that and outing with Hairol and Mariana, the Biz Mat&Minah! Lunch cancelled :( Going to school later for a pre-departure briefing, followed by dinner with band peeps.

Friday - Lunch with Joy + Shahira's 21st birthday celebration.

Saturday - Funkamania @ NUS

Sunday - Lunch with Whale and Di

Monday (19/01) - Tentative lunch with Elizabeth + dinner with cuzzins

Tuesday - Outing with Nadia

Wednesday - Paid experiment in school + dinner with Pei Wen and Melissa

Thursday - Tentative dinner with TKGS girls

Friday - Dinner with Rini

Saturday - Might go for Adrian's Chinese New Year gathering among MJC schoolmates.

Sunday - CNY Eve

Mmkay, it's getting late so off to bed I will go. Tschuess!
