Looks good!! Try putting a little hook and eye at the top and bottom. Or a longer busk. On my corsets, I always make sure there is no more than 5 or 6 mm at the top and bottom.

Aha!! I read today on Geschnuert about the lattice ribbon pattern :P I should make a few of them, no??

Thanks, I may try to do it better next time. It is not easy if you leave only 5 or 6 mm space, hehe!

Make some...Ribbon corsets or patterns for ribbon corsets? ahh, I know you do not like to make this style so much, but what about the patterns?

I do not know so much about this style of corset anyways. I just think it looks very decorative. I am more in lover with this one actually:

Ooooo!!! That's nice!! Easy to do as well!

I might do the lattice underbust if there are people who want them. My version is "cleaner" than J's. It looks more finished, if you know what I mean. Do you think they would do well? They would cost about 135 EUR. That is fully lined, using coutil.

Speaking of J......I notice that she is now on Facebook. And her Etsy store is empty. Interesting, no?

always interesting! Sure!!!

But my mail box is empty too - so ist mein Briefkasten. No mail, no corsets, no free corsets, no money, no refunds, no J. I just can say the same as the one girl at geschnuert: "Bleu de Que", haha! I loved this!

Hey if they only cost this much I definetly will order one. This is very, very afordable good price!

I belive that for this price you could sell a lot, I know some girls are after them and there is no way to get this style here in germany from someone. But will that price justice your work, time, material - and will there be anything left for you? Hmmm, now as I have sewn a corset I know better what kind of work it is and how much materials cost....

I can keep my prices down because all my fabrics, busks, coutil I buy directly from the manufacturer. My silks, taffetas, ect...those I have a special company for. They are based in Germany and supply Opera companies, Ballet companies, theaters, and so on. I was *so* lucky to get an account with them. So if you ever want Dupionseide, best quality available, let me know. This fabric would cost 50 EUR per meter at the fabric store. I get it for 13 EUR per meter. I can get about 2 underbusts from one meter. I can order for you anytime. I order from them a couple of times per week. I can email my colour charts for you.
German coutil - I buy it directly from the people who make it. Busks and boning I get from Wissner. Do any of your friends need bones? I have to order some next week. And I am getting low on coutil too. Yikes!
Plus I am very good at sewing - it doesn't take much time for me to make a lattice underbust. The handsewing I do while watching GZSZ :P
So that is how I can keep the prices down. Custom work is completely different.

ahhh. okay, I see. Need to be registered to look at it, grrrr!

Oh, yes, we all need bones atm. Because we are praticing a lot now, haha!
Let me ask around. I definitly need some more. You buy them per meter on the roll?

I love Dupionseide. It is one of my favourites. But I do not want to mess this up, not yet! I guess I am not at this point yet where I can trust myself to use such a nice fabric. I am still sewing with plain cheap cotton and cheap ikea fabric. I am very bad with sewing!
But you know what, I like it. I couldn't believe it can be so much fun. And I will try and try and try, hahahaaha.

The Dupionseide I get is the *nice* stuff - not yucky and slubby like you get in the US.
Secret: Use Vliesofix for your cotton fabric and your strength layer.
www.stoffversandhandel.com has some wonderful black cotton fabric. It's in their "Anzugstoffe" category. I just bought 5 meters of it to make myself some clothes for summer.
www.stoffamstueck.de is also very good. Their Segeltuch I buy for mock-ups. If you don't want to use coutil yet, the Segeltuch works very well!

What kind of machine do you have?

Yes - my boning comes on a big roll. I think the minimum is 200 meters to order. I desparately need flat steels, so I am going to call Wissner tomorrow morning. I will get the prices for spirals too.

Looks like you have a new hobby! I love sewing - not only corsets. I sew all my own clothes too, as well as fun things like purses, pyjamas for Florian, ect...Why not get an Abo for Burda? Every Spring and Fall they have a special issue - "Easy Fashion" which has lots of easy cool patterns! The more you sew, the better you get at it!

yes, need the flat ones as well. I have some but they are to big, need the narrow ones 0,5mm. I have tools to cut them, I am lucky.
200 meters? Oh well, I don't need that much, hey, maybe 5 or when it is a good pice ten, haha!

Well, I am a bloody beginner and I sew with a very cheap *aldi* machine - shame on me! But, I have the oppurtunity to get my grandmothers Pfaff - this is good, but it is old too. Not antique, but old, about 20 years. It is in a wooden little closet - so it is not easy to carry. So I never picked it up at her house.

Maybe I will save up and buy one, but I need to get information first. As long as I am practicing this is fine. Aldi sew good. Better than I thought!

Yes, I think I got addictet. Want to sew a bustle gown, tatata. But thats is a number too big for me so far!

Thanks for the links, wow - good pices! I paied 9 Euro for my Köper fabric. At Ikea you can get it for 3 - but it is thin and it is not as good. It is more for curtains and not for corsets.
