The Hush Sound - The Boys Are Too Refined |

So I know that I'm in the right fandom when I couldn't save one picture immediately, because the filename already existed in my Panic at the Disco folder. The filename was married.jpg. ♥
I have officially sold my beppybear on Jon Walker, btw. And she pretty much rocks.
7timesfate (11:44:32 PM):i really think that if you are not aware of this picture that you must go look at it RIGHT THIS SECOND
7timesfate (11:44:33 PM):http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/addictedkitten/panic/brendonwater.jpg
7timesfate (11:44:35 PM):and thank you.
beppybear (11:47:03 PM):I want!!!!!!!!!!!!!
beppybear (11:47:10 PM):why are they twin-ish?? ( More AIMing, including me having to pick between Jon and Brendon :( )
Also, because I cannot keep myself from telling you all any longer, beppybear is an Art major, which means she's AMAZING and she spent most of Beach Week sketching Ryan Ross, Gee Way, one *very special* Mikeyway picture ALL FOR ME (I don't have it yet or you'd be looking at it right now), Jon Walker, etc etc I think you get the picture. These sketches will eventually be scanned and I will be linking them, because seriously. They're amazing. One day, I will finally finish a story and she will sketch something to go with it, and it will be epic.
How did I not know about This Is Ivy League? God, I'm still such a bandom n00b. *headdesk* One could argue, though, that my introductions have been largely Panic-centric so far, though. In time...
I really want to share my fic ideas, but mainly I want it to be a surprise. I am conflicted. Maybe I'll share with a select few of you on AIM. *g* Someone make me go to bed. XD Why am I so giddy? idek /o\ but I am going to hate going back to school for research in 2 weeks.

Hokay, so this game is boring the bejesus out of me, but I can't quite sleep yet, and thus I am fucking around on the interwebs. In the course of said fucking around on the interwebs, I found this Vine column asking about the best baseball movie of all time.
Now, for the record, I am a whore for a good (and sometimes bad) baseball movie. I have yet to attend a baseball game wherein a conference on the mound occurs and not busted out 'Candlesticks make a nice gift.' wing2j and I entered our reception to the music from the final scene of The Natural. I once saw a documentary on the making of Field of Dreams that contained, literally, a five second shot of the field lit up at night with all the cars lined up and lost my shit completely because I KNEW WHAT SCENE IT WAS FROM. I'm still not allowed to watch all of 61* alone because the last time I did I got so angry at Mark McGwire's cheating ass that I broke the remote. My dog? Named after the dog in The Sandlot.
I am a sucker for baseball movies, people. I've even sat through Summer Catch voluntarily. I LOVE THEM ALL FOR SO MANY DIFFERENT REASONS. So I am curious as to what y'all think here.
Poll #1190098 Bays Ball...Movie?
Open to: All, results viewable to: AllBest baseball movie ever? THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE.
PS: I watched that scene from Field of Dreams that I posted and I am now a sniffly mess on the couch. 'Why don't you introduce him to his granddaughter?' *sniff* 'Hey, Dad- want to have a catch?' SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOB.
ETA: HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT I TOTALLY FORGOT TO INCLUDE BULL DURHAM WHICH IS MY SECOND FAVORITE BASEBALL MOVIE AND SO IF YOU VOTE FOR THAT ONE JUST VOTE FOR THE OTHER OPTION. CHRIST I FAIL.

| Have you ever seen the rain? |
[18 May 2008|08:12pm] |
DUDE. 1:30 PM game start. Two hour plus rain delay, during which they put the Flyers/Pens game up on the jumbotron and I got to snicker as I watched the Flyers get royally spanked. Then five innings of baseball, during which the lead was coughed up and I started getting super fucking cranky.
And then the storm clouds rolled in. I mean, black fucking storm clouds. We looked up, and my friend's eyes widened in terror and we grabbed our shit and our ponchos and ran for the closest overhang, ducking under it just in time to see literal sheets of rain start falling. We decided that we'd been wet and cold for about six hours at that point, so we weren't going to wait out the rain. As we headed for the car? A thunderstorm.
AND THEN THEY FUCKING LOST ANYWAY. God, baseball, I hate you sometimes. Hi. I spent about seven hours today at a supposedly afternoon ball game. I am cold and wet and cranky and I never want to see Citizen's Bank Park ever again.
And now I am home, and I have to watch the Yankees and the Mets and I am really just hoping that a tornado rips through that stadium and causes the maximum amount of destruction possible. God, I hate every single person in that stadium. I extra hate Derek Jeter's calm eyes.
PS: This is fucking ridiculous.
Rebecca Maykish is 17 and dreads school so much that she stopped going regularly.
In fourth grade.
Those days off have come at a price to her school district and the Palmerton taxpayers who support it. Since 2004, the Palmerton Area School Board has authorized payments of more than $45,000 to help Rebecca make up for her missed school days. Rebecca's mother, Barbara, has used the money for at-home tutoring and education software purchases. She has also spent it on modeling classes for Rebecca, subscriptions to teen magazines, and travel to New York and Toronto with a summer camp.
I'm soryr, but your precious snowflake can go to SUMMER CAMP IN CANADA and not school? Bullshit. God, go fuck yourselves.

The good news is, I'm not coughing anymore. The bad news is, my head is going to fucking explode. Sinus pressure everywhere. My nose is half-congested. I know I have one whopper of an ear infection (it's going "whooshwhooshcrinklewhooseclickclickclik"), and I'm all dizzy and disoriented and fucked up because of it and the sinus thing putting pressure on my brain. D:
It's better than coughing, but only just.
I've got some medicine though, so hopefully in a few days I'll be healthy again.

Ugh, wtf, 9am. Can't sleep. D:
Things I did not know before today:
Dollhouse, which is a show involving Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku and Amy Acker, so right off the bat I'm into it. The premise sounds awesome. I can't wait. Then again, it's new and interesting and Joss Whedon is making it and it's on Fox. This probably won't end well.
Totally Gay Samurai: There was a widespread practice of institutionalized homosexuality among the samurai, so widespread that it was considered the norm. They practiced the kind of master/apprentice gay relationship stuff that some of the Greeks did. That all changed when Westerners brought their homophobia in; until then, you were considered a weirdo if you didn't do your teenage apprentices.
If you have 20 minutes or so and you like history and humor, watch this. It's an HBO special by Robert Wuhl, who I think is a teacher/comedian. He's funny, and full of historical facts I didn't know about, including that Washington Irving is the guy who made up the 'Christopher Columbus wanted to prove the Earth was round' thing. (I knew it wasn't real, I didn't know the 'Headless Horseman' guy made it up. xD)
