I was amped up and didn't feel like going home so I went to Doctor Feel Goods by myself. This is a bar that Vince Neil of Motley Crue fame opened up. Motley Crue. Hair band. Metal band. Guess what was going on inside the bar... Country music and line dancing!!!! WTF?!?!?!?!? They would play 3 country songs and everyone would line dance then they would play like 2 AC/DC songs and everyone would line dance to AC/DC. It was the weirdest thing ever!!!!

Somebody told me that a bunch of lawyers hang out there. If those people are lawyers then our legal system is in a butt load of trouble!!!!!!

Piffle!

The Dead Can Doors (Title Courtesy of Nick)

Went to the Peter Murphy concert last night at Revolutions Live in Ft.Lauderdale. The opening band was interesting. The lead singer started out yodeling and that kind of sounded like Dead Can Dance but then it went into this type of sound that was very much The Doors. I kept expecting to hear "The west is the best" The singer had big Robert Smith hair. I am thinking the poor guy is confused. Am I Dead Can Dance? Am I The Doors? Am I The Cure? *blink, blink*

Peter Murphy got on stage. I was there with my brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and my husband. They wanted to stay over by the bar. I asked if they minded if I got a bit closer. It is Peter Murphy after all. They didn't care. I found a nice spot down in the pit. I had 3 guys surrounding me with a big enough circle that I could get my dance on. Peter did a cover of Hurt by NIN. I absolutely adored it!!! I love that mans voice!!! He sang: Strange kind of Love, I'll Fall with Your Knife, Sweetest Drop, Marlene Dietrich's Favorite Poem, and Cuts You Up. Plus he did a lot of Bauhaus songs. Those are just 5 of my favorites. :) Then at the end of the night he sang a song by The Doors and we all just looked at each other and laughed. Chris said that it tied things up nicely. Yup, yup, yup!!!!

"If he'd been a girl friend I'd have asked by now, but guy friends are different. Sometimes you have to sneak up on them like some sort of wild animal, no wereanimal pun intended; all men are leery of their emotions, spook them and they'll shut down. If you're careful, quiet, not too eager, sometimes you'll learn more. Of course, sometimes you have to club men over the head with some question to get any sense out of them, but they prefer to speak from a quiet place."

"I held his hand tight, not because of my fear, but because of the pain in his voice. Strangely, worrying about him helped me be less afraid about where we were. Who knew therapy for someone else was the answer all along to my own fear?"

"Fear was like cancer in remission. If you gave in to it, even by an inch, it would flare up again and eat you alive."

"People talk of sorrow as if it is soft, a thing of water and tears. But true sorrow is not soft. True sorrow is a thing of fire, and rocks. It burns your heart, crushes your soul under weight of mountains. It destroys, and even if you keep breathing, keep going, you die. The person you were moments ago dies, dies in the sound of screaming metal and the impact of one bad driver. Gone. Everything solid, everything real, is gone. It doesn't come back. The world is forever fractured, so that you walk on the crust of an earth where you can always feel the heat under you, the press of lava, that is so hot it can burn flesh, melt bone, and the very air is poisonous. To survive, you swallow all that hate. You push it down inside you, into that fresh grave that is all that is left of what you thought the world would be."

"Sometimes it's not the light in a person that you fall in love with, but the dark. Sometimes it's not the optimist you need, but another pessimist to walk beside you and know, absolutely know, that the sound in the dark is a monster, and it really is as bad as you think."

"it was more like two scared kids huddling in the dark when they knew the monster under the bed wasn't just real, but was holding a grudge."

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): In her natal horoscope, Icelandic chanteuse
Bjork has the sun, moon, and Neptune in the sign of Scorpio. Here's how
she describes what it's like being her: "I have to re-create the universe
every morning when I wake up, and kill it in the evening." Sound familiar?
That's a pretty good summary of the temperament of your tribe, and
especially so right now, as you navigate your way through the astrological
House of Resurrection.
