March 20 Oasis @ the ACC
We arrived to our fab seats in the middle of the Arctic Monkeys. Before seeing them live I thought they were one of the currently over hyped bands around, and they failed to sway my opinion.
While I waited for the stage crew to get everything set up I enjoyed watched all the people trying to get to their seats on the floor. (We were second row in the stands) Kim and I were in mocking heaven. Newsboy caps for guys and gals, and guys in jeans and blazers were very popular.
Oasis came on and were actually earlier than first announced. They opened with Turn Up the Sun. Good song but I think even they knew no one was really there to hear the new stuff, and stuck to the older hits.
When they played Cigarettes and Alchol I wanted to ask all the young people if they knew Rod Stewart did a cover of the song and if it disgusted them as much as it did me. I have always hated Rod Stewart, mainly because my Mother likes him so much. Yep, I had that easy a childhood that my way of rebelling is to hate Rod Stewart.
Just so you know, Don't Look Back is a make out song. I didn't know that until the couples behind me practically started having sex during it. It was a little disturbing, but the nice little sing a long going on helped to get my focus back.
I've often said that I think Liam is useless. Sure he gets to sing Wonderwall, but he wouldn't be anywhere today without Noel. That being said, this concert proved that Liam is a rock star and Noel is a musician (masterplan was the highlight of the show for me).
I had two fears going into the show. A)that they would get in a big fight with each other or someone in the airport and something or someone would get punched or arrested and the show would be cancelled or worse cut short. That didn't happen. Although Liam is too cool to be on stage when the spotlight is on Noel. And B) That they would talk a lot and I wouldn't understand a word they said. Well they didn't talk much, but when they did I had no idea what they were talking about. Noel said something about singles in the UK and "thanks for coming out, have a safe journey home" that's all I got. Of and Liam said something about waking up before Morning Glory.
The end song was a cover of My Generation where this guy on the floor amused my by doing a crazy dance/spin through the entire song. The lights came up while they sang. What's with that? They did that at Pearl Jam too, is this a new trend? I thought they did it at Pearl Jam because Bono was there. I won't compare the bands beside saying I loved them both when i was in high school, and singing Rocking in the Free World with Bono as an encore is better than letting skanks up on the stage with you while you sing My Generation.

Aw, they used to be in love.
