Michigan Womyn's Festival
Ok so I've decided that someway, somehow, I am going to get myself to Michfest this year. I am going to do it. I am determined. So, I'm going to the US for the fest. I think. Is there anything worth exploring in the US that should make me want to hang around after the fest? I could probably finance an extra week. But I have no idea what I could/would/should do with that week. So, dear US based readers, should I bother staying for an extra week after the fest? What should I, could I do with that extra week? Keep in mind a fairly limited budget.

Yay, Allecto at Fest! I can't wait! :D

(Assuming I get myself there, of course, I never am sure til the last minute!)

If I were in your situation, Dani, I might want to spend a little time visiting wimmin's lands, Subahmuh comes immediately to mind. It's in SE Ohio which is not too far from Fest, considering.

If you can go further, it would be fabulous if you could visit OWL, Oregon's Women's Land, now being threatened by the U.S. Government which wants to run an oil pipeline through there. :( I blogged about that here:

OWL needs women who will go and visit and right to the government agencies planning to condemn women's land and also who will be able to testify for them if they need to bring a lawsuit. :(

There's also Outland in New Mexico where I stayed during the Feminist Hullaballoo-- you'd love it!

Wow, so many women's lands and only one week. Thanks for the info. I'm still not too sure about whether I'll make it but I'm going to try. I have to admit that it was your blogging about Michfest that made it so attractive. I can't imagine being only in the company of womyn for an entire week. So exciting.
