Thanks for the well wishes. I am back and I will definitely be blogging about the Summit in the near future. It was unbelievably amazing. I wish every woman in the entire world could have been there.

Hey, thanks for the link to Gardasil info. I'm very suspicious about the anti-Gardasil proponents because they seems so anti-woman, but, uh - it's tricky. It's hard to find an opinion on either side that isn't based in misogyny.
I've already undergone surgery to remove cancerous cells from my cervix, and I found it so utterly distressing, invasive, and just, I can't express it. I have enough problems being thought of as a walking (but not thinking)womb in my day-to-day life, I don't need it from doctors with knives as well.
So something that would prevent me from having to go through that again is very very appealing.
But, suffice to say I will do a lot more research before I decide whether or not to get my follow-up shot.

I am so sorry for you. If I had have known I would have been a little more caring in my comment. I've just been really worried that so many women are getting this vaccine unnecessarily.

Totally understandable. And I think that the vaccine possibly can be helpful to those women who are at risk of contracting cervical cancer. My worry is that this is making the pharmaceutical companies a shitload of money at the expense of women's bodies, whose chances of getting cervical cancer is not particularly high (relative to other forms of cancer). And cervical cancer is not a major killer. I just want women to have access to all of the info before we have our bodies pumped full of chemicals. And it is not in the drug companies interest to give us ready access to that info.
