Went to an International Women’s Day event at the Women’s Library which was awesome. Well, the speakers weren’t all that great but I met some awesome Radical Feminists whom I quickly befriended (or they befriended me as I tend to be rather shy when I first meet people). And now I’m in. I’m going to start volunteering at the Women’s Library and going to lots of cool womyn’s events. Finally I get to start being an active Radical Feminist. I'm rather sick of being all talk and no action.
Anyway, I spent most of this Saturday at the International Women’s Day rally talking with this great woman who had met almost all of my heroines. Mary Daly, Sonia Johnson, Robin Morgan. She had been at the Women’s Conference in Nairobi 1985. She had also spent two months at the Greenham Common. She was telling all about these absolutely mind blowing actions that I’ve spent the last year reading and dreaming about and she has been there.
It’s so exciting to have other women to talk to about all the thoughts and ideas, anger and rage, joy and care that increasingly I have no one else to share with: ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) dis_senter, demonista and dragort excepting. Finally, I have somewhere to direct my energy. It’s so exciting.
