Books [04 Feb 2007|10:42am]
I found this list on a Radical Feminist website (I think the one advertising a conference in New Mexico with Mary Daly and Sonia Johnson both there as speakers, damn I wish I could go). Anyway it seems like a pretty good list although I am ashamed to admit that I’ve only read 12 of the books on this list (and a couple of the articles but I can’t remember which ones). Makes me feel as though I’m not a proper feminist. There are books on this list that I don't think should be here. Gender Trouble should not be on a Radical Feminist book list (let alone between Jan Raymond and Sheila Jeffreys!!!!). Also there is no way I would touch a book by Naomi Wolf. There are probably others on here that shouldn’t be but most of then look like necessary reading.

A number of authors on here I’ve been wanting to read for a while now, Gena Corea, Catherine MacKinnon. I desperately want to read Janice Raymond’s The Transsexual Empire: The Making of the She-Male but I have no idea where I would get my hands on it. And Kathleen Barry’s Female Sexual Slavery.

There are a number of books that aren’t on here that should be: Beyond God the Father by Mary Daly, The Technology of Orgasm by Rachel Maines, Going Out of Our Minds by Sonia Johnson, Our Blood by Andrea Dworkin, Wild Politics by Susan Hawthorne.
