Guess who I bumped into today while waiting at the bus stop? Miss Karen Lembke. How delightful! We took the bus downtown together and she had time to kill before her movie so we went to Pioneer Place and to the Apple stored and futzed around with the expensive equipment (sadly, no Jon was to be seen) as a sales clerk tried to flirt with us and sell us something simultaneously. Then we went to Gap (sadly, no Jackie was to be seen)... I broke down and spent $40 on a jacket I can't wear for another two months. After she left for the movie I had nothing else to do and went home.
I watched Snatch until Alisa and Lety came to pick me up to see Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. It was alright; I could ramble off more than a few reasons why the original was way better. Johnny Depp was good though.
All in all, a super summer day!

God the new songs were horrible...

I am curious as to which guy acosted you! Any descriptions?

OH my lord were they ever. Probably the worst part of the movie.
Ummm...tall. He didn't really accost us, he just did far more than the "anything I can help you find?" spiel.

Haha, of our 25 people there, like ten are over six feet tall, including one guy who is 6' 11".

Yeah if you come you are definitely going to just get the "anything I can help you find" thing, I'm sort of boring!

Jesus, 6'11"?
Oh believe me, I am the queen of "Is there anything I can help you find?...Well, just let me know if you have any questions." I always hate hearing myself say those words. What strange is how much I hate saying that and how much I hate having it said to me...and yet, when it's not said I feel affronted. Stupid salesclerk etiquette. Did that make any sense?

Yeah definitely. Well, at a computer store half the people end up actually having questions and the other half are either just looking or know exactly what they're doing. I'd assume more people are clothes-savvy at a clothing store so it might be a different situation...

Still, the job must be done!

I always greet people and ask them how they're doing, but I only ask if they need any help if they are looking confused. 95% of the time I ask they want help.

Made sense to me. I hate asking if people need help/being asked if I need help because I figure if someone had a question, they would ask because that's what salesclerks are for so you really don't need to tell people that. But yeah, it's like hey, you're not doing your job when it's not asked.
