Because it's the New Year, and I need one of these.

My journal is mostly public, but if you've added me and want me to add you back - all you have to do is comment and ask! My friending policy is kinda vague, sometimes I might add back anyway but most of the time, just come and say hello and I'll friend you :D

However, if you want to defriend me, just go ahead (unless we're actually friends and do talk now and then, in which case I will make sad faces at you until you explain yourself). I don't do friend cuts, so it's really the only way you're going to get rid of me.

I should probably do a proper 'about me' thing here, but have a Fic & Art Master Post instead. (I'm pretty much 100% fangirl, so this is a fair summary of me.)

My thoughts on Torchwood: lol, & Gwen was lovely and in no way annoying! \o/

My thoughts on the Panic At The Disco news: D: D: D:

eta: Heee! Okay, I have a secret to confess. St Trinians is one of my favourite guilty pleasures. It's ridiculous and camp and OTT and I completely love it, and I can't wait for Tennant in the sequel XD

Derren Brown is ridiculously attractive, terrifying, and the best con artist the world has ever seen. FACT.

Heee. Just got back from seeing his Enigma show for the second time. First time was last Friday with some very lovely LJ people, sitting near the back of the Dress Circle. Tonight I was with my parents, sitting in the middle of the second row from the stage. 8D

cut for some small spoilers that only really make sense if you've seen the show anyway. also talk of how some tricks work, if you want to avoid. )

But, it was still an amazing show. There's still some things in the second half that I'm completely baffled by, but Occam's Razor is alive and well.

More importantly, his hands. They are distractingly lovely.

Omg, second year is over. Had my last exam yesterday, which didn't go as well as I had hoped but omg, don't care. I'm free!

And now I have no idea what to do with my self, because the last month has been dedicated to revising and avoiding revising, and now I have nothing to be procrastinating against I'm bored and listless. I've already asked this on twitter, but: anyone want to give me art prompts? I already have Sweet Charity and [info]spn_j2_bigbang stuff to be working on but, hmm, I feel like just playing around. Any fandoms that I know are welcome! And I'm already doing Harry/Dougie, so variety would be lovely :D

Part of my avoiding-revision was discovering new fandoms. I accidentally fell in love with Aladdin and then was heartbroken when I discovered Aladdin/Genie fic does not exist (please, someone prove me wrong on this?). And then briefly it was The Fast and The Furious, which was fun because Dom/Brian is actually crazy hot and even the bad, OOC fic was entertaining (at least, in comparison to revision).

And now it's Tin Man, which I think may take over my life for a while as there's an active! fandom! and Cain/Glitch is kind of the most perfect 'ship ever. la, spoilers & squee )

But um yes. Basically Tin Man is amazing and the characters have already set up camp in my head and there will definitely be art and quite possibly fic and does anyone on my flist know what I'm talking about? I need people to squee over this with!

Anywhoo. Thanks to Glitch I've realised I am completely in love with Alan Cumming. It helps that there's pictures like this (possibly NWS!) floating around, however. If I hadn't just set a huge close-up of Glitch as my wallpaper, I'd have that tiled across my desktop background and possibly just stare at it all day. ♥___♥

In other news, Psychoville is amazing and the online stuff is insanely awesome, and I'm seeing Derren Brown this Friday. \o/

eta: whoops, forgot to mention - my art for [info]bandombigbang has been posted! It was for the heartbreaking and lovely Life Is Just A Ferris Wheel, and my art can be seen HERE. I'm rather proud of it :D

Apparently I can only write Life On Mars fic that's post-Sam's death. wtf.

one - Thank you all so much for the lovely birthday messages! I had a wonderful day and got awesome presents which I'll talk about... some other time.

two - Question! I was given an Amazon gift voucher for my birthday and am considering getting Sims 3. Does anyone here have it? Has anyone had any problems with it? I'm so hestitant about buying games, it's ridiculous.

three - why on earth do I have a song from Dirty Dancing stuck in my head?

Oh hey look I'm 20. How did that happen?

More importantly - Porn Battle VIII! It's been pretty much my favourite challenge ever since I discovered it a couple of years ago and I love how it takes over my life for a week even if I never manage to finish anything of my own for it and, okay, if you've got the time, go through the comment pages and read anything that catches your eye because there's brilliant stuff in fandoms I've never even heard of and this is all coming from the girl that usually has very little interest in smut so seriously, go! Read! Write!

watching Wolverine. spoilers! )

So anyway last night I dreamt I was at some midnight street party with Panic At The Disco and The Academy Is, and I was sitting on a picnic (just mistyped that as 'panic'. well done, self) bench with a few friends and Jon Walker and we were chatting and being awesome, and then Brendon came and sat next to me and all I manged to say, after a really long pause, was 'hello'. And there was an awkward silence. And then I reached for my phone so I could text Twitter about how lame I was. IN MY DREAM.

eta: forgot to mention - HOW AWESOME IS IT THAT AMANDA PALMER/NEIL GAIMAN IS CANON? It feels a little strange saying that about real people but omg, ultimate power couple. If they have kids they are going to rule the world.

Second exam tomorrow, so obviously I'm ignoring the pile of revision I've yet to do and dossing about. It can be mostly blamed on the fact that I watched The Fast and The Furious 4 last night, and it was fantastic and had everything I adored about the first film and reminded me just how much I love Dom and Brian, especially together (the het scenes felt so out of place that I actually laughed when Brian and Mia started kissing), and so today has been spent mostly failing to revise because I've been too busy desperately looking for decent fic. :D

I have recs! )

Sighhh back to revision.

eta: QUESTION! If you could be anyone in this picture, who would you be? Hint: 'the bath' is an acceptable answer.

re: the eleventh doctor's companion )

Anywhoo. Thanks to a sudden and unexpected new obsession, I cannot stop plotting out Aladdin crossovers. The other night I was seriously considering how it would work within the Doctor Who universe (Djinn are an extremely powerful and malevolent alien species who tried to destroy the universe and were punished by eternal imprisonment! In lamps, obviously. The Genie is a nice guy who can't help that the rest of his species are dicks) but then I started thinking, where else has canon magic? CAMELOT. Travellers from the Arabian Peninsula bring back treasure, including a dusty old lamp (I'm sure that's horribly historically inaccurate but hey, it's Merlin.) Merlin is assigned the task of cleaning the sand off everything and suddenly he's the master of the Genie. Hijinks ensue! Probably involving genderswap and a lot of Arthur being very, very confused. :D

Sadly, for the next three weeks I'm a slave to revision and exams, and it's my birthday in about a week and a half, so someone should write this for me. :D

:D

A couple of memes while I'm totally busy reading zombie fic instead of an article on intelligence. There may be some irony in there but Merlin/Arthur is far too distracting for me to care.

Today has been mostly spent making the lineart for my [info]bandombigbang piece look less like a scribbly mass of messiness and more of an actual scene. There's a kitty! \o/

Also, meme, that looks like it could be good:

I never seem to make icons just for the fun of it anymore =/

Tomorrow, I'm going to start on my last essay of Second Year. Yep, totally. It's not like I've been saying that for the last three weeks or anything.

I finally got around to finishing S3 of Heroes. I'd reached a point of being so uninterested that I waited until new episodes were being shown on tv here, and then watched Ashes to Ashes instead and eventually caught up with them on iPlayer a few days later. If I remembered. Urgh.

anywhoo. I has thoughts. )

I'm all unsettled and antsy and gross, urgh. I was horribly ill at the start of the week and am still recovering and have had like, four strawberries and two slices of baked beans on toast in the last 3 days and the thought of food is in no way appealing and I've got Important Things to do and sigh. Keeping myself amused by falling back in love with bandom (are there bandom ficrec comms? I need the good stuff) and getting excited about various Big Bangs and watching my shows. All caught up with Dollhouse and Scrubs! \o/

pee ess does anyone have a Dreamwidth invite code they fancy flinging my way? I don't really have any intention of moving over there but I'm curious.

The first TEN people to comment in this post get to request a drabble or a sketch of any pairing/character (from one of my usual fandoms). In return, those ten people have to post this in their journals, regardless of their ability level

Please say whether you want a drabble or a sketch! I'll happily do gen, het, slash and femslash, and I might not get them done quickly, but I will get them done. :D

I just got an invitation to my own living room to play video games, heh. But, idk, sometimes I adore just hanging out with the boys but I'm in the mood for staying in my room with my soda bread toast (♥) and watching something with David Tennant in it.

Speaking of, and because I can't make decisions for myself, another poll )

I didn't bring enough DVDs back to uni with me. I wanted to watch The Dark Knight and Bullet in a Bible today and then OH YEAH they're not here. =(

eta: I've signed up as an artist at [info]bandombigbang, [info]spn_j2_bigbang and now [info]tardis_bigbang. WHAT THE HELL, SELF. I THOUGHT WE'D FINISHED TALKING ABOUT THIS. DEADLINES =/= GOOD FOR YOU. D:
eta2: also [info]boxofmagic, ha. I'd actually forgotten about that one, but the deadline for it is far, far away, so that's okay.

I'm not sure why, but I've started actually watching The Mentalist, rather than just catching an episode if it happens to be on. I'm starting to find Patrick Jane and his tiny pockets attractive. I even don't like blond men! This is entirely Derren Brown's fault.

Although, every time I look at Lisbon I just go, "It's youu! From The Craft! :D". Which is rather ridiculous, because I've watched four or five episodes and I should probably be over that by now.

Is anyone else watching it? Does anyone else find Patrick completely adorable?

Thank you so much to everyone who did the poll in my last entry! ♥. I ended up handing it in a day late because I have absolutely no self control and spent far too much time watching Flight of the Conchords and Scrubs, but I just have one 1,000 word commentary to write and then I'm completely done with coursework for this year, so \O/.

It's lovely being back at uni (now that there's no deadlines in my face), especially with everything being bright and green and lush instead of dull and cold and brown. A couple of days ago I sat on the beach for an hour reading Richard Dawkin's Unweaving the Rainbow and just felt really... happy. Which was nice. (although, pebbles? not comfortable to lie down on. who knew?)

Bought myself the second part of Neil Gaiman's Batman comic (Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?) today - spoilers, if anyone cares and hasn't read it yet )

Supernatural comes back tonight! I've been so impatient for new SPN that I dreamt that I'd watched a new episode - there was dark!insane!Sam and incredibly cracky implied wincest (if Dean dies again and his corpse doesn't end up in a wedding dress, I will be so disappointed). It was wonderful ♥___♥

I haven't really been talking about episodes as they happen but, omg you guys, I'm loving season 4 so much. It took me a while to realise this, because I do adore MOTW episodes and all the moments of Sam and Dean just being brothers and saving people, hunting things without major myth arcs bearing down on almost every single episode, but. I love Supernatural mythology. general S4 spoilers, nothing for upcoming episodes )
