I've been thinking about getting a new tattoo... I know I want it on my left shoulder blade - possibly either coming around over my collar bone, or at least being something that I can add to later if I want to.
The problem is I have no idea what I want. I know I want it to be colourful, but not exactly sure what colours. The tats I already have are inspired by classical Greece (like the one on my belly in my icon) and are in silhouette. They all mean something to me (that was my area of study) and at the time I was glad to steer clear of colour, but now I definately want something colourful.
The sort of thing I have been thinking about is maybe something feathery, or possibly something with stars (but not too emo, lol).
Does anyone know of any good sites online with some sort of tattoo catalogue so I can try and get some ideas?
i got my feet tattooed on thursday. just some fun little moths. ( ugly puffy feet! ) they're going to need touching up at some point, but i'm not too worried about it. they were just for haha's.
I'm planning to get my first tattoo next month on my upper arm. However my arms are rather chubby. I plan on toning/thinning them some... day, and I was wondering if weightloss/muscle gain in that area would distort the tattoo at all?
I used to think they were. Turns out they really aren't. If it were up to me to decide I would say this, interviews do not solely reflect the character of the interviewee, but rather that of the interviewer's ability...
today ..i moved out of Gannon Hall in my coveted Scranton, Pennsylvania. I didnt cry, but i wanted to. my friends there are my family, the only people in that area that i really call home. Being home is nice but im scared of getting bored...however...
the last day ..yesterday..i got a phone call from an internship in nyc for an interview =) im so excited. Monday at 11..wish me luck!!!
annnnddddd things with dj are going great...he wants me to go out for dinner with his family tomorrow. a little nervous but ive met his family a ton of times, and his brother is really cool so its going to be good.
I got my second tattoo last Wednesday (first one was 13 years ago), and I've been moisturizing twice a day, just like my artist said to. It started to peel on Tuesday, and during the daytime it's not itchy at all, unless my pants brush against it and tickle it. The past two nights, I've woken up in the middle of the night, itchy as all git out, mostly around the outline. Slapping it helps, as does rubbing it. I moisturize it then too with Lubriderm, but it only helps a little - I still would LOVE to scratch until I hit bone!
Would using an anti-itch cream like Lanacane or Aveeno's Anti-Itch lotion be okay, or should I stick with Lubriderm and slapping? It's about 85% peeled now.
I'm thinking of getting a tattoo at the bottom of my sternum, between my breasts and down a bit. When I learned how to give CPR, they said to find the dip in the chest with our ring finger, place our middle and index finger next to it, then the flat of our other palm right above that. That's where I want this tattoo. No, not as a guide for someone giving me CPR.
Does any woman have a tattoo there? What did you choose and why (if you care to share)? What was the healing process like, since my bra band sits right where I want it (forgoing a bra for a week or two is not an option)? What top did you wear to get it, or did you just take it all off? What words of wisdom can you impart to me about a tattoo in that location?
I get tattoo ideas in reverse order: my body tells me that it needs a mark somewhere, then I go about looking for something to put there. I'm still deciding what to get, if anything at all. I don't want the tattoo to be too small and round/square and end up looking like a gaping hole in my chest come my 80th birthday. But I don't want it to extend out too much towards my sides, either. Thoughts?
Hello. I got my first tattoo last weekend. It says Karma in all white ink.
I think its awesome. I have a question for anyone out there who might have just a plain white ink tattoo... Did it scab over really bad? Mine is a brownish scab color, and it's peeling off but I can't tell if the tattoo is showing through or if its scarred. I guess either way it looks how I expected it to.
I just had my permanent make-up (tattoo'd) eyeliner re-done.
I first had it done about 15 years ago - and my lips, too. Pat, the woman who first did it, used a lady-sized tattoo gun. She mixed lidocaine in with the custom inks.
Then, about 3 years ago, Pat re-did my lips - she now uses an electronic needle device that looks more like an over-sized pen.
The gal that did my eyeliner this time around, Tara, uses the Softap method, which is manual, and is more like a tiny razor blade that abrades the skin, and deposits ink.
I'm in that lovely, luscious healing process place - two days after the ink work - where the pain is divine!!!
I seriously hate it when I want to get some new music but forget what the music was when I'm ready to get it. It's the most annoying thing right now.
So I can't play WoW on the laptop just yet. Right now I'm going to change from Vista to XP first, followed by getting the upgrade in RAM. The minimum in RAM is 512mb just to play, and I assumed I got that since I was supposed to have a gig on this thing, but I apparently don't got that. I'm need to find a place that can take a look at my laptop and see what they can do to get the RAM.
Anyways, at least I can play Half-Life on this thing. Looks great (at least for its time) so I don't mind as much. It ought to pass a lot of time.
I'm starting my half sleeve the 24th and my arm's not in tip top shape like I'd hoped it would be when I made my appt weeks ago. I'm assuming she'll just do the outlining on Saturday and the color/shading in other sessions. So my question is: should I put off starting it until my arm is just how I want it or is it okay to start outlining and work out before my other sessions? My arms aren't huge, they're just not as defined as I'd like them to be. I've got some teacher's flab but nothing crazy. Will the tattoo distort terribly if I lose the fat and tone my arm?
So I finally went in to get my arm touched up and we ended up doing some of the background-y stuff and no real touching up. We added some of the rays (there will be more yellow ones) and also this sorta outline. I feel really iffy on the outline. I like it and I don't. She drew it on and with all the markers on me I wasn't sure if I would like it or not. But I trusted her judgement. I still think I just need to get use to it. I've had the tattoo on my arm the same way for about 6 months, so maybe it's just the shock of it looking different, and the fact that the line work is so much bolder. Please let me know what you think. And nothing too negative, please, I don't think I could bear to hear it.
Jason Kelly, currently of Timeless Tattoo in Atlanta (but as of next month will be working for Russ Abbott at Ink and Dagger Tattoo) does a pretty mean, and clean tattoo.
I figured it's about time I got some classic Sailor Jerry Tattoos.
it's on my left shin/inner leg... the red flower is right smack dab in the center right below my knee cap.
