I got my copy of Patrick Wolf's new albumn today in the post (actually came on the day it was out!!) , and I'm pretty excited as I've been waiting since at least last Septmber when I saw him at KOKO, plus even more excited by his show at the Union Chapel near Christmas....
So I have heard alot of it before, though mainly in acoustic version. This albumn is very 'poppy' and also quite electric... very different from lycanthropy and wind in the wires, though I defintaly wouldn't say bad.
I am upset that Bluebells has been changed so much on the albumn, as i loved the acoustic version... but hey... back to listening :)
... I recommend Patrick Wolf to anyone who hasn't had a listen before!!

this term has been horribly busy... the work load is more than doubled! so havent really had a chance to go out that much.. however last few days have been very good
- went to see Mr Scruff at the union on thursday which was pretty fun (even if it did involve me and em getting too close!)
- friday gave in and went to the union thinking it would be fun to see everyone.. yet i hate the union when sober, so got drunk on cheap snakebites and then me and jess went to cuba and then ride and danced like loons til 5am!! was amazing :)
- and then even though my system had had too much alcohol went to a pyjama party last night! another drunken affair and em and i went home early yet still managed to stay up talking into the night!! so all in all loving being back here... and need a break from drinking for a while!!
this week i plan to go to Lincoln to visit mr rawson :) and hopefully see miss canham too! my Ireland trip for geography is becoming close (end of march) and im also worrying lots about the summer - at christmas i was hoping i may go to Japan this summer..however lack of funds and also need to do dissertation work mean that ill probably just end up working..boo hoo :( but hoping to save and go for longer once i graduate.

getting myself out of my politics essay on eu integration thats in tues... still feels like i have ages to do it - damn my inability to complete work until the last minute! been quite a busy week - has felt much longer than a week (especially on account of missing people :( ) I have attended all my lectures this week! and almost sorted my dissertation title (something to do with coastal erosion/ sand dunes.. maybe on the suffolk coast or overseas) and sorted my group work for the ireland fieltrip in march.
went to ride then scholar for drinks on thurs and everywhere was surprisingly dead but still a good night though managed to get a hangover even though i only had 4 pints!? and on friday was mine and phils house party..which was pretty manic.. lots of dancing to sixties music in crazy sixties costumes :) oh and the riot police turned up!?!
saw cold mountain last night.. wasnt as good as i remembered - somehow thought the folky music bit with jack white lasted longer :| and now shud be writing my essay but getting easily distracted!

so i chose the university of plymouth on their good geography department, module choices and amazing third year trips! oh and the choice to keep my degree quite open.. i could specialise in either human or physical geography!
and when the list of third year fieldtrips came out i was amazed by the iceland trip and signed up whithin the first 2 hours ( it was said to be first come first serve)
a few weeks later im told that iceland is oversubcribed.. as i dont want to do any of the other fieldtrips especially (N USA, Crete, Prague) i hold on, hopeful....
and then last night i get an email saying because i have chosen one human module this year ( i was not told this would change which trips id be allowed on) i have been dropped off the trip.. so now i am on my second choice to prague but frankly after getting so excited about iceland i don't think i will go and also because i am not a human geographer!!!!!! very very upset... would even think about changing unis but i love plymouth :,(
on the posotive note i am going to plan my own trip... would love to go to iceland or japan if money allows if not possibly a conservation volounteer trip next summer... who knows :)
