Jodie's told me some things, but I think I'm going to take a lesson from Tolkein. Infantryman's sense and all. Information being dangerous and often misleading.
.

...

I like the word satiety.

I wish Scotlyn had a livejournal.
Excellent day. :) Went a-woodsing and a-beaching with CoD. Climbed the Mordor slope of doom -- an actual mental and physical effort, damn those landslides! T'was quite fun indeed. :) I completely ruined a pair of flip-flops. Yay. I want to get another dollar-store pair of flip flops from a strange state. These were ....Massachusetts flip-flops? Or perhaps New York flip-flops. ...Or maybe Arazona flip-flops? I don't think they're that old.... Anyway. We took a shower, and now I'm wearing her clothes. Not as sexual as either of us make it sound. :P Went to Corey's, hung out in the dark, saw a deer, got stuck in kiddie slides, talked about how awesome it would be to have a Vampire Pope. And things. He bought huge-assed starbucks coffees. I think I'm way too miserly compared to everyone else. I sprung for gas, but since I know it was to ease my miserly-feeling conscience, I don't think it helped my karma any. :P Square.

I hate telephony. From now on, if I can help it, I shall communicate either in text, or face to face.

And I got a paycheck, and a $20 salt scrub which is wonderful and lovely for $5.5o. Both of which made my day a little.

I'm considering the logistics of removing my screens without anyone noticing, for ease of late-night exit. Cody might know why.
I'm watching Tegan's Return of the King extended version... and I could whine about petty little dork things, but mostly I adore Faramir. Why didn't they keep those scenes *in*? Cos a movie can't have a canon hetero romance, it needs an apocryphal one with Liv Tyler instead. Bah, humbug.

"oops I sharted"

I haven't updated you on my weird dreams, lately!

So I had one where I was Hitler, and I had to win World War 2 with 6 hot air baloons, twelve soldiers and two long poles. We snuck up on the Allied forces who happened to never look up, and started whacking people with the long poles, but we were vastly outnumbered (seriously, the Allies went on as far as the eye could see) and I woke up when the situation became too hopeless (all that was left was my balloon and one other-- we tried to steer by pushing each other's basket with the long poles.) And another featuring the ...something something miniature goose, a fluffy round creature the size of a cat, with a tiny fuzzy swan neck poking out, orange duck feet, and a rat tail that ended in a spray of plasticky fiber-optic things. I think I had to save it from doom. It was quite cute. It's name stuck quite firmly in my mind, upon awakening. I have no idea what that was about.

:P I met a Lawrence graduate, today. I had on my shirt with the name of the college on it, and she came up to me in the street and told me she was a History/Spanish major, graduated in 1994, lived in Ormsby hall, and it was the best four years of her life. :) Yay, I love my college and I haven't even been there yet.

So, I was thinking just lately that this time last year, I was a mad campaigning floozie -- a foot soldier, a grunt if you will. A blade of grass-rootitude -- for the DNC.

I liked that a lot better. I suppose it would be better if American politics focused less on elections and more on issues, but I liked that. I liked wot's-'is-name at Youth Government Day (a republican, and I was still in Combative!Resentful!Liberal mode) tell me I was 'good at this'. I ran (another!) mock-campaign. I forgot my candidates name! (Luka Hickman, for the record) But...that was the best compliment ever.

But now... I'm pointed in god-knows-what-career-direction.

*phear*!

In other news. I had a team-o supreme-o time with Jodie and Alex today.
At work today I picked out a giftset for a woman whose girlfriend just had a masectomy and then the cancer was found in nineteen different places. She was going to see her at the hospital, and had to focus on something completely irrelevant like buying a gift to keep it together. I picked out one with an aromatherapy kit and a big cuddly stuffed puppy. I'm not too confident in Stuffed Puppy's ability to right all wrongs of fate and circumstance, though, so if any of you have a chance send some good mental voodoo to Customer's Girlfriend. :P...... :(

Argh, this is going to bug me for ages, I can tell.
OMG I know french!

I took my placement test, and I got, well, what I expected to get, but It's nice to know I *officially* know french, now. :) Yey.

Take the quiz at dicepool.com

You are a four-sided die, a d4. Otherwise known as a tetrahedron, a "Caltrop", or (to a lesser degree) "Ol' Pointy". This crap bores you, so I'll get to the point. Others tend to see you as petty, conniving, manipulative, argumentative, defensive, greedy, and needlessly antagonistic. You see yourself as focused, effective, efficient, influencing, shrewd, tactical, and direct. Both points of view are in fact correct. You always know the best way to get things done, a fact that never wins sympathy with others. Whenever you manage to gain control of a situation, your solutions are swift and brutal. Unfortunately everyone else is convinced that granting you such power is, "a bad thing" and often conspire to keep it out of your hands. Such short-sighted fools!

I don't mean to be an analysis snob, but my mum went to see "the Woodsman" (with Kevin Bacon -- he plays a child molester) and was shocked when I asked her didn't the title refer to 'the woodsman' of Little Red Cap/other Grimms' Tales fame?

She shrugged, and said the character worked in a lumberyard. *facepalm*

I think this is why we consistently fail to understand each other.
