so last thursday was bradford's 18th birthday, and also the day we went to see slim cessna's auto club. here's a brief (i'm lazy) account.
the night before, sarah and i made and decorated these awesome cookies for him:
ankh cookie cutters are pretty awesome.
kristen and dave came over to wish brad a happy birthday before we left for the show. as a celebration of his newfound manhood, he showed up at my house wearing this ridiculous contraption:
and began to vigorously cock slap me. (photobucket says this picture is too sexual, so use your imaginations!)
oh, kristen, egyptians did not look like this!

he feels a bit too comfortable at my house.
hey, what time is it?
then, he, shannon, mommy, and i took the path into new york, got onto the subway, realized it was the wrong subway, realized brooklyn is basically cursed as far as subways go, and arrived at the club late for the show.
LUCKILY, NOBODY WAS THERE! it was just us! and band members! the lighting was pretty dramatic, so we took pictures.

then shannon and i spoke with munly (one of the lead singers and also has his own band which is really amazing and oh god he's so cool), who was very stoic except sometimes. like when i told him we were afraid they wouldn't go on, since there were so few people, and he said, "oh, we still might not" and my face dropped and he laughed at me. i bought one of his CDs that i don't already have, and asked if he'd sign it for me. he said he would, and took out a knife and cut the plastic off and then was like, "wait, do you really want me to sign this? i just found myself opening it and felt so presumtuous!" and that was like one of the only times he actually laughed.
"munly's 136th autograph, because everyone wants one."
then this dude went on:
he had music on like, his ipod, and just played that and sang. he had songs like, "rainbow of pain," which is about having your period, and "teen pregnancy (don't do it)," which held a lesson i will take to my grave. dave potosnak, he was basically doing something i can picture you doing, and he was very very funny.
THEN SLIM CESSNA, FINALLY.
it was hard to take pictures, because i was busy dancing and being danced with/into, but i got some:
coolest fucking guitar ever.
i swear to god, he almost fell while being carried back on stage. sidenote: that asian girl was part of a group of very drunk girls with no rhythm who danced like crazy anyway and knew every single word. they inspired bradford, who danced like a madman the whole time.

once again, they were fantastic and once again, it was easily one of the best (if not the best) live shows i've ever seen. we spoke to slim and munly again after the show and thanked them profusely.
then we walked back to the subway at around three am.
mommy slept like the hobo she so is.
ALL-IN-ALL IT WAS AN AMAZING NIGHT AND HERE'S A TL;DR VERSION:
