'The Beautiful and Damned' by F Scott Fitzgerald.. a work of genius
"Well, I started to tell you of my education, didn't I? But I learned
nothing, you see, very little even about myself. And if I had I should
die with my lips shut and the guard on my fountain pen--as the wisest
men have done since--oh, since the failure of a certain matter--a
strange matter, by the way. It concerned some sceptics who thought they
were far-sighted, just as you and I. Let me tell you about them by way
of an evening prayer before you all drop off to sleep.

"Once upon a time all the men of mind and genius in the world became of
one belief--that is to say, of no belief. But it wearied them to think
that within a few years after their death many cults and systems and
prognostications would be ascribed to them which they had never
meditated nor intended. So they said to one another:

"'Let's join together and make a great book that will last forever to
mock the credulity of man. Let's persuade our more erotic poets to write
about the delights of the flesh, and induce some of our robust
journalists to contribute stories of famous amours. We'll include all
the most preposterous old wives' tales now current. We'll choose the
keenest satirist alive to compile a deity from all the deities
worshipped by mankind, a deity who will be more magnificent than any of
them, and yet so weakly human that he'll become a byword for laughter
the world over--and we'll ascribe to him all sorts of jokes and vanities
and rages, in which he'll be supposed to indulge for his own diversion,
so that the people will read our book and ponder it, and there'll be no
more nonsense in the world.

"'Finally, let us take care that the book possesses all the virtues of
style, so that it may last forever as a witness to our profound
scepticism and our universal irony.'

"So the men did, and they died.

"But the book lived always, so beautifully had it been written, and so
astounding the quality of imagination with which these men of mind and
genius had endowed it. They had neglected to give it a name, but after
they were dead it became known as the Bible."

PS. I know I haven't updated much. I was a bit annoyed that no one was interested in the fact that I finally published a book so I couldn't be bothered posting again XD Update on the book is that it will be up for sale on amazon and other retailers, and is up for submission to bookstores, in 6-8 weeks. But for now you can still buy it here! :D

Wooo!
Crazy weekend it's been. But fun! Had a crazy night at the Cathouse last night, and go to bed at 7am this morning. Eep. I still feel a bit crappy but as long as I sleep tonight I should be okay at work.. hopefully.

Anyways, Sacrifice Models have uploaded my photos :) (you have to click 'see models' then 'back to albums' and go to the Glasgow album. the layout's a bit messed up but they're supposed to be sorting out an official site soon) so that's pretty fun :) I'm still majorly freaked out about photoshoots and things, I totally don't have enough confidence.. but I WILL because I need to get past this. Gotta take risks :)

Today I spent most of the day sleeping and watching the Simpsons, then when I eventually got out of bed properly I started sorting out my room a bit, finally. All my DVDs are now in a good place and that's a weight off my mind, hate having my DVDs scattered everywhere. There's still lots to be done, but it was a good start. Sorted some clothes and stuff too.

Anyways I'm bloody freezing so I'm gonna go make some form of hot drink.

I'm your favourite drug, just one hit is never enough
Ah the enthusiam towards my book release was just staggering... NOT! ;) hahahaa. I have sold 14 copies so far though, in one week I'd say that's pretty good.

Support independent publishing: buy this book on Lulu.

:D Buuuuuuuuy it!

So I've had a fun few days. Got fitted for a corset and somehow the whole experience made me feel more comfortable WITHOUT the corset on as I was standing in the changing rooms with a stranger wearing only a bright pink bra and somehow I didn't care about the way I look anymore. But yes, I loooove the corset and I'm wearing it out for the first time tonight, yayyyy!! excitement. Tis gonna be a good night.

Well I'm off to watch The Simpsons and try and wake myself up a bit more :)

"It's my birthday gift to me! I'm so happyyyy..."
Well, first update in a wee while and I'm making it quick cos I'm in the process of doing a zillion things. Actual productive things too!

I have just finished formatting my book. Really. It is DONE. Finished. And the front and back cover too. I had to change the front cover because I had to make it a lot larger, so I ended up having to change the size of the picture and the text but not majorly. So I think it still looks okay. And the book is all formatted as well as I can, so I'm just going to go for it. I need to convert it all to .pdf now and then, fingers crossed, it will be up for sale.

I feel strange about this. I kinda look like Aunt Hilda in my icon there. :D

Modelling
It's official, I have just signed up to be a Sacrifice Model :D And they accepted me. My pictures aren't up yet so I'm not gonna post the link yet lol. Wait and see what happens.

So I will be needing better photos in the near future I guess! Haha.

I'm excited, because this is something I NEVER would have done about three months ago! I'm quite proud of myself. :D

I think I have run out of good thoughts :P

Which means I can probably get more writing done. I am like ten pages short of the required book length... more like 5 pages once I take off title page etc. And then I do have my latest story still to add to it... but anyway.

Now. A meme.

Pick a fandom, and I will tell you which character(s) I would:

1. bake cupcakes for:
2. trust with the keys to my car:
3. put thumbtacks on their chair:
4. have a crush on:
5. pack up and leave if they moved next door:
6. vote for President:
7. pick as my partner in a buddy movie:
8. pair up:
9. vote off the island and into the volcano:
10. wheedle into fixing my MP3 player:

Now it is time for a PROPER update! Seriously!

I have been feeling pretty shit all day and I decided to have a shower, as you do, and had an idea. I actually often get good ideas in the shower o.O not sure why. REGARDLESS... the idea is that since I am basically finished one of my books (a collection of short stories and poems) I am going to metaphorically get up off my arse and publish it. That part is basically all sorted since I know how to self publish it etc, and all the stories are finished (though I might consider re-writing one, we shall see - the last person to give me advice on that one no longer gets a say in anything ever). The only thing I haven't done is the front cover. Ages ago I asked my good friend Ben, who is studying photography, if I could use one of his photos at some point because he has some wonderful photos but I'm not sure if they'd be entirely suitable for this book (which I have also changed the title of to 'Secret Smile' after one of the stories in it). Anyways Ben's photos are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/_puremagic

And they are fantastic. But what I was looking for was something relating to the title and I need a girl to pose for what I had in mind. This photo is pretty close: http://s3.amazonaws.com/readers/authspot/2007/06/24/38079.jpg but not exactly... So. I just need to figure out the front cover stuff and then all should go ahead. I may end up having to take a photo of someone but we shall see. I just don't want to have a REALLY boring front cover. Then again I love the cover of 'stargirl' by Jerry Spinelli and it's pretty plain... sometimes simple is good. Hmm.

It's kinda cheesy and stuff but I have honestly had dreams about seeing something I've written as a proper book. Sounds silly I know, but I once had a dream where I saw my book 'Check' in Borders. lol. If only my dreams really did predict the future :D I figure maybe doing this will actually motivate me to finish one of my unfinished novels :P They are basically all unfinished. I kind of feel like going back to finish my vampire book which is for children :) I love vampires hehe. And who wouldn't love a story about a ginger vampire who is half human and half vampire? Um... there is more to it than that, honest. I even had a school for monsters. I would like to add at this point that I started this book when I was in Primary Six and Harry Potter was not yet on the scene :P

Anyway I need to keep this short as my internet is likely to die at any moment. But yeah I am a bit excited.

Stole from Caragh!

Here's how it works:
1. Go to google.com Or your own files, if you need to, haha.
2. Type in your answer to the question in the search box.
3. See only the first page of results.
4. Take the first picture and use it for your answer.
