Hello. I haven't updated in a while.

life has been good. Work has been busy. Been staying in alot because its cold. Went on a cruise with the roommates. We flew down to Miami then took a 4 night cruise to Key West and Cozumel. Then spent 2 days in south beach. It was a blast. So warm and fun.

I was off 4 days for Thanksgiving. Here's what I did.

1- Got Dosas with Keith
2 - Went to a show at Martini Red on the biggest party night of the year. It was so packed I couldn't move from the corner I was shoved in.
3 - Ate an awesome vegan thanksgiving meal that I made for myself at my aunts. Relatives were trying to steal bites.
4 - Watched bad movies in fast-forward
5- Slept really late and did not set an alarm
6 - Did not purchase 1 thing on black friday but instead ordered xmas presents on internets on Thursday
7 - Worked 4 hours at the Park Slope Food Coop, only 1 more makeup to go!
8 - Watched a documentary on Peter Seeger and one on Lexington Drug Treatment Center
9 - Saw Role Models
10 - Play fought with Keith
11 - Stayed in at Kingsley and invited Mary and Shari over to eat (soy) ice cream and watch mindless entertainment on TV
12 - Spent entire Sunday on my futon with Mooshu and Su
13 - Watched Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
14 - Watched Gossip Girl season 1 disc 1
15 - Started knitting a purple scarf
16 - Started reading Get in the Van

I really hate the movie meet the parents. Its absolutely horrible. It just makes me anxious and annoyed.

OK so week three MATH: 3x out of 37 (96% percentile), will report total score when I take the verbal part

I like watching seinfeld before bed, I go to sleep happy.

My doggie died. It was very sad and my mom is devasted, he was her little buddy. He had a good 14/ almost 15 years, he was fed well, played outside alot. I remember how he loved playing in the snow, we would lose him bc he was all white haha.

Um. I've been pigging out alot lately and I have to stop, I'm pretty sure its a stress thing. I need to pig out on healthy things like carrots. but carrots don't hit the spot like ghiradelli semi-sweet chocolate chips do.

I made friends with a vegan girl in my office and she made awesome raspberry brownies, they were heaven.

I want to get into Fashion Week. So far I'm loving Twinkle & DKNY, excited to see my usual favorites. If I dont get into any shows, I can at least look forward to the parties Wed & Thur!

I am done shopping for a while, after my GMATs I want to focus on making my own clothes & piano lessons. Any teachers?

The weather today ruled, it makes me excited to break out my "back to school" clothes, including my military style jacket from H&M.

Yesterday I went to Coney Island to say goodbye. I used to go there so much as a child, my dad would take me and my brother. My dad worked nights so we would mostly see him on the weekend so alot of the places he took us strikes a special nostalgic chord. My first rollercoaster ever was the cyclone, I cried hysterically the whole time.

Oh and I watched 20 minutes of "Almost Famous" at the gym today. Never seen it before, I kind of want to check it out.

awesome vacation weekend

Keith and I went to capecod, MA. It was a blast.

Friday - we drove there, fun ride up. Got there around 6. Headed out to find a non-fish place for dinner. Ended up at INAHO.. fancy japanese place. Good food, good sake. Came back and played mini-golf, keith taught me the essentials of whacking a ball. Then headed back to the hotel... since our b&b was right on a private beach, we went up to our room, pour some wine into plastic cups and sat on the beach. Sooo nice & chilly at night and soo many stars! I loved it.

Saturday - Got up super early and headed downstairs.... to our beach! lol. It was nice and uncrowded. We were able to borrow chairs & umbrellas from the hotel so did that and chilled. Read books/keith read comics. I didnt realize we were out there for so long but we mustve been bc i finished my book lol. When we came back up to the room I realized I got REALLY sunburned... oy haha. After we got ready we then headed out to check out more of cape cod and found food for lunch, things close at such crazy early times. Like we stopped at all these antique stores and they said they close at 4! what do people do. So weird. We drove mad far and got tasty eggplant & hummus on focciaca panninis. Then came back and chilled for a bit in the room, keith made us awesome pina coladas. Around 9 pm we got on our bikes and rode around the town, had a nice bike ride . The stars were out again to amaze us. Driving on the main roads was scary bc it was dark and there were lots of cars but the backroads were awesome.

Sunday- Slept in a little then checked out. Headed to this crazy flea market in this huge lot. We both spent like under $15 and got a TON of stuff. I got a hat, an atlas, a notepad, a hi standard cd, a shirt & a dress, some buttons, a bugle!, and an awesome blue little suitcase full of dress patterns. AMAZING. Keith got ridiculous kitten shirts, a slide projector ($3), 3 cds, an atlas, cutting boards and tape. After spending a couple hrs there we were hungry so we drove out to this farm that I really wanted to check out. They have some vegan options at their cafe. We got there like 20 min before they closed (which is at 3pm) and it was well worth the drive. The food was awesome, we got "b"lts & chilli... the veggies were so fresh and tasty. It was a beautiful view over the farm too. A perfect end to an awesome relaxing vacation.

DId nothing today. but must start studying for my gmats tomorrow so thats my order of business after work tomorrow...

I've been persuing my interests lately which makes me really happy. I want to start a blog where I document every meal I eat so like if its a restaurant I would write a review and if its a meal I cooked I would include the recipe. I would also include little vegan tips and posts about clothes or things that I didnt think were vegan that are.

I finally broke out my sewing machine and made a dress to help curtail my spending. Check it out:

I got an awesome xylophone through ebay so I'm going to sound so awesome at the next Brownwater show.

Keith finished his student-teaching/classes so we celebrated this weekend by going to see Wolf Parade who were awesome and played like every song on both albums, watching 6 episodes of Freaks and Geeks, checking out a new Indian place in SI that was really yummy, partying at Martini Red, going to Ralph's Ices and swimming in Steves pool. We had a great time. I also saw Marisa Friday night and we hung out in the LES the quote of the night "Why is everyone wearing the same shirt".

I'm going to go watch the new tim and eric then plan out my new dress - which will be an american apparel rip off.

Keith got me this awesome slicer for xmas so that i wouldnt cut my finger and of course i someho sliced my thumb today.

My life is crazy but its def on a sweet upward slope.

I love the new mates of state record, thus confirming them as my fave band ever

I finally got an external harddrive and put everything from my ipod on it!!

Ok for the most exciting news ever: I am now working at New York Magazine. Look for my name on page 3. I love it its such an awesome place to work and be a part of.

Friday was karaoke party for john and it was amazing yet bittersweet... I got teary at some points bc I'm going to miss him so hard but its going to be such a great time for him and will be sweeet when we visit.

Yesterday Mary and I trekked it out in the heat to go see Santogold & Diplo. We hung out in our bras and sweated and danced. It was funnnn. Then we had the most awesome food at pianos and (soy) ice cream.

Life rules. Heat does not.

New beginnings

Hm. I got a job as a research analyst at New York Media (NY Magazine & nymag.com, nyxny events). I applied bc its similar to the job I have now except its indepently owned and a brand I personally love and can stand behind. Im at the point in my career where I need to get focused and if I stayed at a media firm much longer it might get harder to move to a really cool, hip place. This is more me. I feel that connection and I can not wait to start!

Brownwater played Rock the Harbor on Sat and it was a blast. Got sunburned, drunk, exhausted. I need to perfect my xylaphone parts. Hardly slept all week from all the practicing and running around and staying at Keiths.

Friday I got to hang out with Leslie, Rachel, Amanda, Lauren and Marisa which was fun. I kept yelling "Get out of my way!!" and I dont know why.

The Sex and the City movie was amazing, as expected... sigh.

Su and I are on a quest to do something free in the city at least once every week. I'm really looking forward to summer and fun happenings around the city.

New Mates of State Album comes out tomorrow!!!! Im psycheeed

I just baked the awesomest (vegan) cupcakes -- vanilla filled with fresh strawberry filling and pink buttercream frosting. Jealous? better be.

Life has been crazy, but good. Feel like I have been crossing alot of my list of things to do... ie: bowling at the gutter, karaoke (work it by missy elliot is my karaoke jam for sure), eating brunch, murakami exhibit at the brooklyn museum, seeing the cherry blossoms at the brooklyn botanic garden.

Been hanging out with Keith alot and its been a blast. He took me to the comiccon-- nerd central, we saw a movie at the angelika and then snuck into another....he cooked me & the roommates an amazing meal, danced to cheesy 90s music in willamsburg, had a cinco de mayo celebration at my apartment. We're taking it slow and just seeing what happens. I'm crossing my fingers.

I've been studying for my gmats, wanna take them by August though I'm not positive about going back to school anytime soon... we shall see.

The band is going so well... I'm actually not bad at guitar!! I mean, my playing is eh but my writing ability is pretty cool, I love the shit I write and how my guitar sounds. I think mike and I work really well together. We have a full set now so hopefully we can be playing by fall!!

Its reinvigorated my love for music and Ive been eating up everything... listening to music all the time. Pandora is my new favorite thing ever, I just listen to it all day at work. I'm seeing Les Savvy Fav on Wed and I cant wait! There are so many good shows coming up... I need to get tickets. I think Hot Chip presale is tomorrow.. anyone interested?

I had a strange dream last night.

I was walking around for a long time with infected toes on both my feet. They were swollen and it hurt to walk. After a few weeks (in dream land) one foot had healed but the other hadn't. I was complaining and complaining about how bad it hurt so I went to a doctor. The doctor looked at the bad foot and laughed. She picked up my foot and squeezed the toe as if the infection were just a pimple. A whole bunch of gross crap came out then my foot was fine.

Aw I just watched Basquiat and it was so sad. I want to be a graffitti artist.

I had a really eventful weekend. Friday was Boms going away party. I went with Ed Rose and Melissa. I'm going to miss Bom, hes such a fun guy. I need new foreign friends!! hehe. It was at Karma, which allows smoking. Made me realize how much I like the smoking in bars ban in NYC.

Saturday I spent all day at Woodbury commons with Rose and Cindy. I got 3 awesome dresses that I am sooooo enamored with - american apparel, BCBG & Betsey Johnson. They each are meant for different occassions... :) yay. We got back pretty late and Su had some friends over playing guitar hero & singstar karaoke. So we joined and it was a blast. Did a sake bomb.. actually tasted pretty good. Yea I love singinging & karaoke.

Sunday I ran some errands then Xin and I got brunch at Vspot.. it was actually pretty yummy. Then she came with me to the food co-op and she fell asleep on my couch as I cooked this awesome meal - fetticine with walnut sauce. woo food processor!! I spent the rest of the night at Keiths being lazy. I read Persepolis. I'm in love with it, I hope to finish #2 tonight. Gotta see the movie.

Monday I got my awesome facial/haircut/color. Didnt realize I was getting the cut and color so it was a nice surprise. The color is a dark chocolately brown, I like it. They also put some makeup on me which made me look like a Staten Island Guida.. ick I had to wipe it off. Im totally spoiled now though, I want facials all the time.

After that I practiced with Army vs. Navy. Im now the Xylaphone player.... or something like that. Hahahahahah. Come see us at Martini Red the 29th! Music makes me happy. I love the new Magnetic Fields. Im random. I wish it were the weekend again. Ugh I have to study for my gmats now and learn these songs.

Wow. I've been really busy and really happy lately! Yay life being awesome.

Its soo pretty! I love the white. Also I got it cheaper than it is on there. Im so excited to play it at practice.

Friday I went to the Valentine's Day Dinner Dance thrown by Community Health Action of SI. Its a fancy little event, and I think Keith and I did it up nice. I decided to partake in the silent auction since its for a good cause and I won on my bid for a facial at AF Bennet! I've never gotten a facial so it should be cool.

Yesterday I went with Rachel to sleep over Laurens in the Bronx. I love those girls, clemking. hahahah. We went to MAKE and painted ceramics while drinking complementary wine and listening to Beyonce who doesn't know how to rhyme. Smidget. I painted a rice bowl. nice. Then we ate amazing Indian Food around there. Took a cab back after walking in the rain forever. I decided that Lauren's commute is probably worst than from when I travel from staten island so I cant complain anymore.

When we got back to her building we went to this nerd themed party. It was fun because her friends at Einstein listen to awesome music so we were just listening to good tunes singing and dancing and they were showing me some new bands to check out. very fun.

Yea so today Keith and I rode out to Guitar Center to get my guitar. I like the employees there so much better than the jerks at Sam Ash. It was a fun ride though, just when things click and good conversations happen. We ate dinner at this awesome Thai place on Hylan blvd they had seitan and dishes called "vegan noodles". Really yummy authentic tasting food. Ya.

Good moods over here in Heather land. I have a busy week up ahead.. band practice, battle of the rock bands at my job, valentines day! Im so glad we are off next monday. I just need to get through this week.

Time to go play my guitar!

I've eaten like a vegan queen the last two days. Oh what a good mood food puts me in.

Yesterday Keith and I went out to dinner at Caravan of Dreams... I love that place its so quaint and cozy. This jazz band played while we ate, it was romantic. We had awesome salads, this bruschetta with some yummy cream on top and veggie ravioli in an almond alfredo sauce... so amazing. Then we walked over to Atlas to see what snacks they had. I forgot that they get their vegan treats shipment in on Tuesday!!!! So I got a peanut butter brownie, TIRAMISU AND A SPRINKLED DONUT!!! Keith was super excited about the donut because he hasn't had one in like 6 years. We ate the donuts on the train and then I ate the brownie later that night. Right now Im eating the Tiramisu and its out of this world. Im trying to eat it slow and savor it.

And tonight I came up with this great idea for dinner tonight before I had to run over to the food co-op. I made a grilled cheddar cheese sandwich with follow your heart vegan cheese and put avocado and tomato in it. Sooo yummy.

Ok well after that I need to stop being a pig hehe.

I cant stop listening to that new weakerthans record. At first it didnt exicite me, but after giving it another listen Im obsessed.

I want to see before the devil knows youre dead.

I got a sick raise at work.
I am playing guitar in a band with awesome people.
I saw Hot Water Music and they were amazing.
I cuddled with Keith all day today.. even though hes sick/will probably get me sick.
I am doing better on my GMAT practice exams.
I have direction and motivation and Im happy.
Keith and I made reservations at Blossom on Valentines Day cant wait.

I had a fun weekend. Friday night I went to adams party... it was a good time just hanging around with everyone. Played some beer pong. Wasn't AS terrible as I expected myself to be. Saturday I went on a cute double date with Keith Jesse and Adena at Miyako sushi. Adena and I had awesome Lychee martinis. I love that place. Then went to cargo to see MARY! Im so glad shes home! This winter is going to be that much more awesomer now that shes home. Sunday I saw her again too. Me, her and john hung out at Melissa's and watched "Music & Lyrics". I secretly loved that movie and I am going to learn all the words to "Way back into love". Yes!!

Today I spent a long time at Centurys and bought a Betsey Johnson dress at half price! Success.

However, Ive been feeling slightly unproductive so here are my winter to - dos:
1. Ice Skating in Prospect Park
2. Visit the new museum on Bowery
3. Peruse the galleries in Chelsea
4. Shop in Willamsburg and eat at foodswings
5. Go to the billards/ping pong place in bay ridge

OMG follow your heart is launching sour cream and cream cheese. So amazing. Why cant I find their mozzerella anywhere? I want to make eggplant parm and it saddens me.

And Zen Burger opened, Lori said it rules so I must visit this week.

I just uploaded a million photos to facebook. I somehow got pulled into it, I think its bc myspace got boring.

I finished watching every movie about andy warhol. Next is movies about quantum physics and movies by Jean Luc - Goddard.

I'm happy. I'm going to the gym. and cooking meals. and seeing all my friends and getting along with Keith really well. Ive seen a change in him and myself as well and we have just converged to this point of awesome happiness. and looking at all these photos just brought back good memories and now Im just elated.

Now I just have to force myself to study for the GMATs and go to grad school. <3

I'm happy. Adam just came over and we watched a bunch of stupid clips. Its fun having cool people in the neighborhood to chill with. I cant wait for Mary to come home so we can all play in the bk.

My supervisor got me some books today as a token of his appreciation for helping him with the gaming paper. Mostly because the gaming director gave him a copy of guitar hero 3 and not me. It was a really sweet gesture on his part. he got me this book that shows you how to make dolls and a book on how to be green in your daily routine. So cute!

Saturday I went to the craft fair with some girls from work. I actually got some cool presents for people. We shopped that whole day and got brunch. Then Xin and I walked over to the MJ store and visited Michelle at the eyeglass store she works at.

I am obsessed with Tim and Eric awesome show great job!

I want to go see Juno so bad, Ive read great reviews of Ellen Page and the movie.

Hanging out with Keith has been so much fun. I feel completely normal and level headed and Im not mad about anything. We are being honest and blunt and its awesome. I see that Keith is happy too... so this rules. We need to keep these lines of communication open and then I think things will be fine. Also... I think being off the pill helps because I dont want to cry every 5 minutes.

Anyway!! My parents asked me what I wanted for xmas and heres what I got them to order for me:

I bought new vegetarian multiples and they arehuge pills and I have to take 3 and they taste soo bad and then I get burps that smell like them and I want to vomit.

I had chinese food 3 times this week. I need to cook more.

Keith and I are back together. Its a long story but its also awesome. I dont think things will be perfect but they will be honest and fun. Im looking forward to this new path my life has taken and Im just being positive.

Im definitely sick or getting sick. It hurts to swallow and all I want to do is sleep. I was such a bum this weekend. Slept till 3/4 both Saturday and Sunday. Mind you I did go to bed at 4 am both Friday and Saturday nights but still.. I usually wake up around noon.

Friday was my boss's birthday party at crocodile lounge. It was fun. Keith came... everyone loved the cupcakes I made (chocolate with peanut butter frosting). Then we went to Martini Red for Todd & Mark's DJ set which was SOO FUN. Everyone danced and I just partied all night.

Saturday I hung out with my parents for a bit then went to the apartment. Cindy Su and I went to Willamsburg for this "Down and Derby" roller disco event at studio b. It was fun but super disorganized. Once we got on the floor skating we had a blast, so many photographers were taking pictures of us because we dressed all 70s hahaha. Then we ate at the anytime diner :) tatertots.

Today Keith and I watched a whole bunch of kitchen nightmares... my appreciation for Gordon Ramsay has definitely grown hahah. Then we went to go see Beowolf in 3D ... I didnt realize it was not a live action.. and I also didnt realize it would be so bad and cheesy "I AM BEOWOLF!" ick! but the 3D aspect was pretty sweet. Then we got dinner wth Jesse and Adena, my last chinese food of this week.

Im feeling a lot better. About myself, about life, about everything. Too bad my throat kills... haha.
