BioDiamond Butterflies
Diamond Butterflies was originally named Monogatari and began on July 13th, 2004. When I first started web design, as everyone is in the beginning, I wasn't that great. But for some reason, I loved to make icons even if they were only a picture with a box around them. So I started Monogatari so that I could have a site to post all of my icons on. After having Monogatari for almost a year, I realized that I wasn't into creating icons as much anymore. Monogatari was then archived on July 5th, 2005. A few weeks later, I became really active in many LiveJournal communities and on my own LJ that the interest in icons sparked right back up.
I wanted to un-archive Monogatari, but I realized that I hated the name, the layout, the way I set it up- everything. I decided to make a small layout and give the site a new name. I had Photoshop open and I was ready to type in the title, but I didn't know what to write. I was listening to the Janne da Arc song Diamond Virgin, and thought "Something with diamonds." First I thought Diamond Gems. But I hated the word Gems for a site name. And just out of nowhere, the word butterfly came to me. I thought Butterfly Gems. But that didn't sound right. And so I crossed and mixed words until I came up with Diamond Butterflies. It's pretty, unique, and simle. I'm extremely happy with the name. :D
