"What was the name you guys called me at the precinct when I first became the District Attorney?"

( The entire time I was like 'oh shit, oh shit, oh shit ...' )

On a more "life-related" note, this week has just been ... so difficult. On Wednesday I went to work, then I volunteered at the observatory, and was lucky enough to have a friend let me crash at her place for the night so I wouldn't have to drive all the way back home, then drive back the next morning for work. But then I had to get to work a little early the next morning, and I was in Board of Regent meetings all friggin' day. It was really tedious. Our Graduate Senate President was only there for two days so I had to accompany him and basically catch him up on what was going on in the office. I ended up taking notes at all the committee meetings and just sitting in for the final Board of Regents meeting. Interestingly enough, I got to meet some important people. One of them happened to be President Mark Emmert, who's, well, the President of UW. I also got to listen to Bill Gates, Sr. talk and get complimented by the CEO of Costco and the CEO of REI ... his daughter's also a board member, and it's uncanny how much she looks like her brother. It was all a bit nerve racking, but I got through it in one piece, I think. But after the Board of Regents adjourned at 4:00, I had to get back to the office and prepare for the Executive Senate meeting at 6:30. I was so exhausted, but I had to take minutes since there was no one else who could do it ... the exec meeting went on way too long, though. They kept on going off the agenda and into these tangents. We got out shortly after 8 PM, at which point I decided to take my laptop home with me so I could get more work done. Argh. But I really love doing the work and I want to do a good job at this so I'm willing to put in those extra hours. I really don't see how anyone could've expected this position to get anything done in 15 hours a week -- it's impossible. This is a full-time job, that requires full-time attention.

But I get home at around 9:30 and of course I have to watch ZOMGTHEDARKKNIGHT, so I take a shower, relax, and force myself to stay awake ... which isn't all that difficult, actually. I'm just physically exhausted. Best part of yesterday, though? Since I bought my tickets, like, two weeks ago online, I got to go straight into the theater and wait inside instead of waiting outside like everyone else. And since I was alone, it was easy for me to find a good seat. I took pictures of the theater and the crowds last night ... it was so massive. There were some people dressed up in Joker face paint, and it was pretty cool. Except there were some douchebaggy high schoolers in the crowd who just wouldn't stfu.

Oh, and randomly ... the new Terminator trailer is epic. So fucking epic. I love all the Terminator movies, except the first one ... can't really stand the first one.

I need to go do some stuff today. Comic book get, check the mail, and maybe go to the gym if I'm not too exhausted ...

Ang-young from Ha Guk
Waddap??

All is well in Korea. I had the stomach flu yesterday so my mom and aunt felt compelled to drag me around to different hospitals all day, when all I had to do was friggin' sit in bed and drink water. I have miraculously recovered, and am in dire need of eyebrow plucking.

Also got a $50 hair cut for $20. Everything in Korea is cheap (except bananas and strawberries ...). I'll bring everyone back some such sort of thing.

My brain is in total Korean-mode so it's hard to switch back and forth from English. Brain melty.

I'll try to update at a later time, but don't expect anything.

PS - My phone works here for some strange reason ... it's says I'm ROAMING, but I don't have my American number, I have a Korean number. I must figure out whether or not I can use this thing ...

... Washington is drowning.
So, yeah:

No one's shopping at the mall today!

That is right now, luckily further south than my house. I'm on top of a rather steep hill, so hopefully, most of the water is going to drain that way. Schools are closing down, buildings are flooding, cars are being abandoned, roads are blocked off ... it's like an effing plague just hit Western Washington. >< But I fear my drive home because right now, that image is between me and my house. I'm gonna pray I-5 North hasn't been blocked off ... that would be messed up if I got stuck at Evergreen. -.-;

A favor to ask ...

I'm finally beginning the application process for Sarah Lawrence, and I've decided on my first short story. It's going to be Nightingale, which I wrote sometime last year. What I need from you folks is a review of the story -- any type of suggestion is acceptable, but I prefer constructive criticism. Of course, you don't HAVE to leave constructive criticism, it's entirely up to you how you feel about the story. :) This is a pretty raw draft ... it's been through very minimal changes, because I honestly received no bad critiques when I submitted it for my class, which was frustrating because I knew there were things wrong about this story.

So yes, please read. Oh, by the way, this story's somewhat lengthy. 11 pages, double spaced, so be aware.
