I. Love. Underpants.
Filmed (most of) the Super-project today. SO CRAZY. The times I have had that much fun in one day are.. well, they're few, anyway. It was almost fun enough to make me want to do some film after all. Almost. Provided I could work with awesome people, anyway.
I think the finished product is going to be FANTASTIC, even if it doesn't make it onto the DVD.

I just kind of wish I didn't have work all this weekend. Plus working backstage on Underpants, plus house-sitting. Still gotta go draw and post tomorrow's comic. *dies and is ded*

I go for 'innocent and trusting like a puppy' and I get 'old man on crack.'
Just came back from auditions for Cannibal: The Musical. I think I did fairly well, surprisingly, but I'm adopting my traditional audition resolution not to think about it until I hear something. That said, it's hard-- I want lines! I've had two spoken and one sung, total, since Shakespeare on Ice and I'm going into withdrawal.
Also, I came up against one of my worst fears again, namely auditioning for the same thing as Frances. Because (I think) she's just better than me. Definitely funnier. (And yes, Frances, I know you will most likely read this and go 'psh whatever,' but to you, madam, I say BAH. BAH.)
Meh. Anyway.

Last night we designed our super-costumes. Concept shots will be up on Facebook soon, hopefully. Things are looking badass so far.

...but speaking of costumes, I still don't know what to do for Halloween this year, which doesn't bode well. Usually I have some kind of vague idea by the end of summer. But like seriously, I have got no idea. Maybe when I figure out what it's likely I'll be doing...

I need Dr. Horrible. It's like a bad craving. Why, oh why does my computer hate downloads so much? Maybe I'll have a go at it anyway. Because. Dr. Horrible.

Basic Accounts, India, and LiveJournal Inc.

Development Goals and Basic Accounts

Last week we updated our development goals for 2008. Generally we noted a number of cool enhancements and investments to LiveJournal that we are working on, including improved search, usability, and site development.

We also wanted to let you know how we hope to accomplish all these things, and how we plan on paying for them. In order to accomplish our stated goals for this year and beyond, we need to increase the revenue gained from both groups of LiveJournal accounts: paid subscription accounts and ad-supported accounts.

As of August 28th, all users will be able to choose to downgrade their account to Basic through their Manage Account page. Additionally, we will start showing advertising to visitors who are not logged in to LiveJournal when they are looking at Basic Account journals and communities.

Basic Account users themselves will not see ads on any Basic journal or community while they are logged in to their account. If you want more information about this, take a look at our new post on [info]lj_2008 where we outline our reasoning.

Indian Flash Fiction Contest

In other news, we are excited to tell you we've launched "Quick Tales" LiveJournal's first initiative for users in India, in celebration of India Independence day, August 15th. "Quick Tales" is a flash fiction writing contest in which we're partnering with Caferati.com, one of India's largest online literary communites. The contest's winners will receive some great prizes and it is open to anyone with a mailing address in India. We hope that users with an interest in Indian writing or just India will watch LiveJournal's [info]india_writing community. That's where the finalists and winners will be announced, so keep an eye on it towards the end of September! If you're in India then enter the contest - if your story is slick and quick (under 500 words) then you could be the lucky winner!

Meanwhile, back at LiveJournal Inc.

We have updated and redesigned our corporate site. The goal of the redesign was twofold: first, to update the look and feel (Dystopia users will appreciate it!); second, we want to provide a destination for prospective employees, partners, and members of the press where they can access important information about the company. Kudos to our design team.

The Shagging Meme ::giggles::
1. Bold the names of guys you'd definitely shag.
2. Italicize the names of guys you might shag after a little persuasion.
3. Leave the guys who don't do anything for you alone.
4. Put a question mark (?) after the guys you've never heard of, or aren't familiar enough to judge.
5. Strike the guys you wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole.
6. Add four of your own at the end.
NOTE THAT THESE ARE THE FICTIONAL CHARACTERS, NOT THE ACTORS THEMSELVES

...Yeah, four-armed lesbian artists don't beat that.
So, Tramlet.
This needed to happen. Hamlet needs to be done by young people. The questions of identity, relationships, etcetera-- they're all things that we're throwing around in our heads anyway. We need Hamlet to validate our questions and to be a sounding board for our minds, and Hamlet needs people like the YCTCers to bring in fresh ideas and energy and the humor that a lot of productions miss. Tramlet, I think, was an excellent undertaking for YCTC, and a very nearly perfect project for so many people's last year. (I'm just ridiculously envious that I couldn't be involved. WHY AM I OLD WHY.)
...In other words, OMZGFABULOUS.

I am currently having too much fun:
-playing dress-up at work
-webcomicing
-fangirling
-expanding the Shakespeare song file
-coming up with ideas for the Super Project. Frances is a supervillain and I'm her nemesis. HOW COULD IT NOT BE AWESOME.

Also? There exists, in the world, a screenshot of shirtless Neil Patrick Harris tied to a bedpost with a tie. To steal a quote, this is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.

edit because I realized I have this icon.
