Anyone else using NaNoWriMo to write more of an already-started novel?
I'm continuing work on my 2004 NaNoWriMo project (I've participated the last four years, reaching 50K for 2004 and 2006).
Because I still want to write 50,000 words while at the same time revise some scenes or rework sections of the novel, I'm going to try for a great deal of planning and outlining over the next two months. That way, I'll be able to write aiming for a high word count without *too* much editing (producing the expected crappy passages) but still feel like I'm on track with adding to that novel by having a fairly clear plan.
Are there other members of this community following a similar track? If so, what are your strategies and hopes?

Basic Accounts As we noted in our last News post, as of today users will be able to downgrade their account to Basic through the Manage Account page. In addition, visitors who are not logged in to LiveJournal will now be seeing ads on Basic accounts and communities; the experience of logged-in users will not change.
Paid Account Sale We are having a paid account sale starting today through September 30, 2008. During that period, you can purchase a 12 month block of paid time and receive a 20% discount – this paid time can be added to any account, or purchased as a gift for your favorite LJ-friend. For full details, see our Paid Account Sale page.
Announcing lj_advisory We are pleased to announce the creation of the lj_advisory community, set up so you can find news and information related to the activities of the Advisory Board. We recognize that it has taken us a while to get this community up and running, and that has caused some frustration. From now on, we will post topics which will be discussed by the Advisory Board prior to the date of the meeting and summaries of meetings after they occur. Throughout the year, the Advisory Board may also post requests for opinions on topics which may be discussed at future meetings. This is the official community for communication with the Advisory Board – comments will be read by Advisory Board members who will respond as they feel appropriate.
RTE + Opera and Safari = <3 RTE stands for Rich Text Editor, which is the default method of posting entries from the Post an Entry page. Our Rich Text Editor is based on the open-source FCKeditor code. It allows you to make links or LiveJournal user tags, insert photos or videos, and format your entries without needing to know HTML. That is, unless you use Opera or Safari as a browser, in which case you couldn't use the RTE.
That will be changing today. We are pleased to announce that the RTE has been upgraded to the latest version of the FCK code, which includes support for Opera and Safari! In addition, many of the bugs in the old version have been fixed. If you've been using RTE, you will most likely need to clear your browser's cache in order to use the new version.
<strike> vs. <b> Last year we changed the visual display of deleted and suspended usernames from a line through the username to a bold font. This had the effect of making the name unclickable - which meant that no one could easily determine whether the username had been deleted or suspended. We've reversed this display, returning deleted and suspended usernames to a struck-through and clickable state.

Any other aussies here? 2008 will be my first year doing Nano - I'm pretty nervous actually because it seems like a lot of work, and I don't like setting myself a goal i can't achieve.

so yeah, I've always wanted but never remembered to do this...
CHRISTMAS FIC GIFTS!
Yes, you point and laugh at me because it's like, I dunno--AUGUST, but I'm a procrastinator of Olympic caliber so it'll definitely take me four months to accomplish this on time. Plus I'm doing NaNoWriMo again this year, so that's the whole of November, gone. And no, I don't care if some of you don't even celebrate Christmas.
I've always liked the idea of being a Santa Claus (of fic) and posting multitudes of pieces here on the 24th of December, and plus I'll benefit from writing more now that Scribes is over (sigh), so just comment on this entry with a description of what you'd like for Christmas and I'll do my best to finish it by December 25th.
I can do both original fiction or fanfiction, and my fandoms are: Harry Potter, Tamora Pierce, (sadly) Twilight, Ouran High School Host Club, Doctor Who/Torchwood, anything Sherwood Smith, Artemis Fowl (and other Eoin Colfer stuff), and pretty much any other book I've mentioned in this LJ. (No I'm not going to do any Wuthering Heights 'cause it suuuucks.) I probably won't do any Edward/Bella either because that too sucks, though I'll consider Draco/Hermione or Harry/Hermione ONLY if you ask me reaaally nicely. I have no qualms about gen, het, or slash, though I'm not going to do NC-17 for obvious reasons. I can also do original fic if you give me a genre and a prompt, though you should probably know I'm best a fantasy, romance, humor, and/or contemporary. No poetry.
So, yeah. Request away! I am quite at leisure!

| Subject: | Co-write? Just to knock about a bit... |
| Security: | Public |
You all convinced me that participating in Nanowrimo is a definite step in the correct direction. However, I'm very out of practice when it comes to the whole writing front... I haven't written much in ages. So, I was wondering if any of you would be interested in co-writing something in preparation for The Big 11/1. I don't know exactly how it would work, but we can exchange a few ideas here, or over e-mail, etc...
Anyway, it may also help me to have somebody there when I get writers block, and keep to an actual outline.
Email: lvictoria03@gmail.com
looking forward to it :]
