I came, I saw, I SQUEED [

WOOOOOOOTTTTT

I was finally able to see Christian perform LIVE in front of me XDDDDD. Ahaha, I went and watched the Smackdown + ECW houseshow yesterday and dear gods, it was so much fun :D.

Hehe, I actually didn't make up my mind until this week XD. I bought the tickets the night before show night so as you can see everything was hurried. But I knew that if I didn't come, even in the nosebleed seats, I would so regret it so off I went! :D

At first we were stuck in traffic for the longest time, so we actually decided to leave the car and walk to the nearest MRT/LRT station to take the train to the stadium :D. We were about an hour late but at least (and most importantly) I didn't miss Christian's match with Tommy Dreamer and SWAGGAH.

It was so much fun :D. And Christian had the fans right at the palm of his hands :D. I squeed and cheered and squeed again for the whole of the match. Actually, I thought theirs was the best match of the night, there were no lulls in the action plus great moments like a superplex and Christian's hyper-mode, with him jumping around XD :3.

I enjoyed it immensely :DDDD. That was a night to remember ^-^ Too bad I didn't bring a sign though >: I was too much of a cool, anti-conformist that way XD. But really, I should have brought one, because the cool, anti-confomist thing went right out of the window when they announced the ECW title match. I was marking out like crazy! :D

We were farther away when compared to the first time we saw the WWE (RAW brand) and I didn't bring a nice camera so I can't share any pictures or videos >:. In all actuality though, I wouldn't be recording Christian's match, I would just be enjoying it through and through. Which I did XD

Great night... great night XD. I am really happy that I was able to watch it ^_^ I really would have kicked myself if I missed it :D

Ok, I finally finished updating my Scrapbook 2009 :D

I laugh at the empty spaces because I was too busy studying XD. There would probably be a lot more empty spaces there since med school has just started :P

It's also important to note that I'm just adding the new things that I am interested in in the scrapbook because if I didn't it would be filled with repetitions. And wrestling :P

XD

And as you can see, major lurve goes to Guilford XD :3

Now on to Pharmacology :D

P.S. I finally started adding tags to these entries, it would make it much easier from now on. I still have to go backwards and tag hundreds of posts but at least I'm starting somewhere? :p

I am becoming very bad when it comes to actually updating this thing [

Wow, long subject header.

Anyway, even if school has been suspended for a week, I found myself with a lot of stuff to do like schoolwork for example. And even if I was diligently reading and highlighting, I still find myself a little behind what I planned to finish this week.

It isn't because I've been doing anything else (DotA has been sucking majorly for me lately so I've had my hands off until I get my groove back), it's just that for some of the SGDs (homework) I just stare at it and grimace. X-x I don't have a plan of attack for them. I just don't know how to go about it. Luckily my friend and I studied last night and the Surgery SGD is more or less done :D Now just Pharmacology, and of course, I still have to revise our thesis paper. D:

BOO.

I haven't been able to practice with my archery either because the target board isn't done yet D:

Plus as you can see, my 2009 Scrapbook is behind >:

So yeah... I'm feeling particularly lethargic >_<

Well, off to do Pharmacology and maybe update my scrapbook. The thesis would be held off until I can double check the statistics against another study >:

AH1N1? [

06.24.2009 - 00:46
]
[ mood | busy ]

It's been awhile hasn't it? :D

Well, in my defense medical school has just started for me so I'm trying to get my best foot forward. Since it's still the start of the school year, I still have the drive and passion to do what is needed (which is study). I might as well do it while I still have this drive XD.

Plus, I do have a goal and I know that I could reach this goal if only I could take that one extra push forward :D. So I'm taking this one step at a time.

And another thing, I basically did nothing during the summer so I have a lot of things on my plate apart from medical school. I would need to continue archery, I would need to sign up and take the medical technician's board exams and I would need to study up for the first phase of the USMLEs D: So many things... so little time. I have to make up for the time I spent watching anime and lounging around XD

So from all of those things, how the heck did I get the free time to actually post? Well it's because our school has suspended its classes (yet again) because of a case of AH1N1 in our building. I'm both happy and sad. Happy because YEYEYEYE FREE TIME and sad because when we do get back, the teachers would dump everything in our backs. That is why I've actually been studying this "vacation period". This is very reminiscent of the "problem based learning" approach of some medical schools out there. The approach wherein the students are left to their own devices and they only really go to school to report/answer questions and take tests.

I am actually kinda liking it (right now). I can study at home and I have power over what I can study and where I can study.

In the end though, I think lectures are still helpful. But as I reflect right now, the best way the "problem based learning" can work is by studying not by yourself but with other classmates and friends. In that way, you can help each other and support each other. Two minds are better than one and all that. :D My friends over at medical school already hold weekly study sessions to answer the assignments :D They really help immensely.

This would be a busy week though. I just spent the whole afternoon studying Pharmacology and I'm not done with the example cases yet >:. And then tomorrow is also St. John the Baptist's feast day so that means merrymaking in the streets by pouring buckets of water over each other and to unlucky passersby :D After that I would need to read up on my other subjects and then finish the revisions to our thesis paper so that we can pass it to the IRB as soon as possible.

Work, work, work >:

But I did have my "fun time" by having a "Diplomatic Immunity" marathon in between studying for Pharmacology :D. I <3 that show. So many quotable quotes :D

Well, that's it for now ^,^ I'll finish the remaining 2 episodes tomorrow ^_^ It's off to DotA land now :D

Info Dump X_x [

06.05.2009 - 23:16
]
[ mood | sore ]

It's been a while, hasn't it?

And it's weird that I decided to type and update when my arms are about to fall off. Figuratively, that is XD

I haven't been around because I've been busy vacationing and bumming around :D.

So where did we go to? After a cruise, I decided to add to my already dark tan by joining my family to a beach excursion over at Anilao, Batangas. :D Woot ^_^ It was really fun because almost everyone came, and that included the kids :D. Plus the snorkeling/diving there is insane :D Too bad I wasn't able to try scuba diving because my cousin, who also wanted to try scuba diving wasn't able to go because of a black eye received during a freak automobile door accident >:

But even if I wasn't scuba diving, it was still fun because we were able to snorkel and I could finally see the fish! Ahaha, since I wear glasses (no contacts for me), I used to see nil whenever I swim, but now, equipped with prescription goggles I was finally able to see the fish and other sea life swimming around :DDDD Woot!

The resort we went to (Eagle Point, I think) was nice :D and it was extra nice because we all stayed in their largest villa which meant everyone would be staying under one roof :D. Plus, while it was raining outside (rainy season arrived early this year X_x) the kids and I were able to hold pool and table tennis tournaments. We were even able to meet a family who challenged us to a table tennis game. We forced volunteered [info]eris_kei to represent our family :D. The kid she went up against had a stance like a pro though, so of course we lost XD, but it was a close game (because the opponent wasn't used to the dilapidated rackets XD)

The island that we went to was also extra nice, and it was highlighted by the fact that when we arrived, it was only us on the beach XD. It was like having your own island :D. The waters were crystal clear and while the white sand can get a bit rocky as you go nearer the shoreline, it was still clean :D.

All in all, it was a fun time :D. It was especially great that our relative from the US was able to go with us ^_^ YEI :D

For my high school barkada, we need another trip ^_~

The second reason why I haven't been updating is because the kids and I decided to finish Code Geass and Code Geass R2 :D. It's really a great anime and I wholeheartedly recommend it like my friends recommended it to me :D. My only gripe about it is the ending of R2, the pacing was too rushed and the plot kinda deviated from the central theme, but all in all it's a great anime. Plus, the last episode kinda made up for the rushed pacing. (But I am still disappointed with the deviation from the central theme and plot point >_>)

So which unlucky character did I attach myself too in the series? :D It's Guilford, loyal knight to Princess Cornelia, hopeless romantic and a steadfast and honorable soldier :D. He is so much <3. As much <3 as his own love for his Hime-sama XD

He owns a commemorative plate of Cornelia. Love knows no cheesy boundaries XD :p

Another reason why I've been out because I've been busy with school and org work. I was up fixing my folders and envelopes, creating stuff for our organization (who made me information secretary even if I wasn't even a full member yet XD) and fixing my schedule. I was already starting all the work because supposedly, classes start on June 9th, but since there was the whole AH1NI flu scare (a large university here in the Philippines - not my present school XD - reported a case or two from their student body) school would now start on the 15th. OH YEAH HAPPY DANCE TIME XD

*dances*

Yes, more time to bum around and "study" for the first quiz in Pharmakinetics X_x, supposedly the hardest subject in second year. Ok, not supposedly, it is the hardest subject in second year, a lot of people failed the subject last school year X-x. Hopefully I can do well >:

Lastly, I should explain why my arms are about to fall off. My cousin offered me to take some archery classes. He paid for the bow and the arrows, the classes and even the target that I could practice on at home :D. He is really so generous :3. Much thanks to him, a million times thank you :D. So now, I'm taking archery class. I just had my first one hour class today and could I say, with all the pulling and the lifting, my arm is about to fall off. But at least I'm developing my upper extremities XD. I even took some medicine for the pain. It's not that I can't bear it, it's just that I'm afraid that I'll be so sore tomorrow that I wouldn't be able to take my one hour class (after photography class :D, this really has been a productive summer ^_^). So hopefully it would be fine by tomorrow morning :D

Ok, that's it for this info dump. X_x Too much information sqeazed into one entry X_x. Plus my arms and back are sore. Let's see if I can play DotA properly :p

Hehe, that's it for now :D. Have a nice one ^_^

Angels and Demons, oh my! [

05.16.2009 - 23:57
]
[ mood | bouncy ]

Haha, I just watched the movie adaptation of Angels and Demons and like the book, the movie adaptation of this is way better than The DaVinci Code. I never really understood why The DaVinci code was the more popular one, Angels and Demons was a better book by far, and the movie did not disappoint.

It might have been a long movie, but it wasn't particularly draggy, plus Ewan McGregor as a priest? HOT.

Now excuse me while I go burn in hell.

(I need to get myself a DVD copy when this comes out ^^)

So as you can see, I'm back ^,^. The cruise was wonderful, I heartily recommend it ^-^. Too bad the excursions that they offer during the stops in Penang, Malaysia and Phuket, Thailand where kinda crappy. >: No beaches. No decent beaches at least, and why else would anyone want to go to Phuket if not for their famous white sand beaches?

In other news, photography class is coming by nicely ^,^. Our next assignment would be for a portrait, so I would have to drag around the camera, looking for the perfect shot.

In terms of gaming, [info]abguil has left me in Granado Espada, level wise XD. Haha, I would have to level up soon, I'll be left behind so badly.

Oh, and I would also need to catch up on Legend of the Seeker and Diplomatic Immunity while finishing up Code Geass, which I am finally watching.

Busy, busy summer :D. But it's nice busy ^^,

To end, [info]eris_kei and I got drunk from souffle sauce. Yes, souffle sauce. Bizu makes wonderful, rich, creamy, sinful chocolate souffles with a cream sauce that tastes like it was laced with 99 proof alcohol XD.

Off to vacation [

[ mood | happy ]

I'll be off to a vacation with my family ^,^ Hehe I can't wait. Hopefully the weather would turn out better >:

We'll be leaving two days from now, so tomorrow I would be fixing my stuff ^-^. Hehe, so I'll probably be busy.

On to a completely different note, I updated my 2009 Scrapbook. Katekyo Hitman! Reborn has been added, among other stuff.

I already have a new anime that I'm currently watching. Code Geass :D (yes I finally got my hands on a copy). Haha I am loving the parallels that you can draw between the whole Brittania making Japan a colony and the whole Spaniards making the Philippines a colony. Hehe my family and I could even designate stuff like hey, that's Jose Rizal! That's Andres Bonifacio XD.

It is also your typical CLAMP work. Feathers? Check. A friendly relationship between two boys akin to the one in X/1999 and X? Check. Soft-spoken girl/invalid with incredibly curled hair? Check.

I'm still liking it though ^_^

Well, off to sleep then to pack :D

So, how the weather? [

05.01.2009 - 15:09
]
[ mood | disappointed ]

TERRIBLE D:

It's summer over here at the tropics. Summer and guess what the weather looks like as I look outside the window.

DULL AND GRAY D:

Where's the sun? The heat? THE FUN? I'm one of those people who love the sunshine, the happiness connected to that, but it's been two weeks of dull and gray over here D:. Sometimes I just want to punch "weather" even if weather isn't exactly a person, or an animal, or even a concrete thing =_=;

That's why this past week, since the kids were out in Thailand, I was...

STUCK INSIDE THE HOUSE D: *rage*

All I did was watch TV and play video games X-x I feel so unhealthy >:
I had a Katekyō Hitman Reborn! 家庭教師ヒットマンREBORN!marathon and could I just say? Colonello is <3. Absolute <3 :D

Oh and Mukuro reminds me of Youko Kurama ^_^ :D

The anime itself is your typical shounen fare but with a whole lot more humor mixed in, plus it kinda mocks its own genre. Oh and the small nods to classic shounen anime like YYH is pretty nice too :D

To end, Colonello is love XD :p

So what else? Oh yeah, I've been playing with [info]abguil the MMORPG, Granado Espada. Pretty snazzy when it comes to graphics (everything is just so darn pretty and shiny XD) and it's always more fun to play with your friends than play alone. This is because I hate leveling up and questing in MMORPGs. Why do that when I could do that in Defense of the Ancients in 1 hour?

The only good thing with MMORPGs is the community aspect and meeting new friends, etc. So it's always fun just to go around and play with [info]abguil :D

Plus we really want to write stories based on our families XD. Ah Gareth *pets Gareth's hair*

Well that's it. I'm here hoping that the weather gets better soon, summer is almost ending >:
