[Sep0908] ourbedrooms [squarerootoftwo] hi there. sorry if this is redundant but i'm curious about creating a canopy/tent over a bed without actually having a canopy bed. i've seen these kinds of things but they're not exactly as full and dramatic as i'd want. i figured i could just buy some drapes and tack them on the walls and ceiling but i don't think that would be very substantial and half of my ceiling is slanted (i'm on the top floor of a house converted into apartments) so i'm a little lost. anyway if you guys have any pictures, links, how-to's, tips/tricks about doing this, i'd appreciate it a lot :) COMMENT?

Mixed Messages [Sep0908] misatojaganshi Dudes...dudes...the Mccain speech...so....boring....the only thing that kept me tuned to MSNBC was live blogging on ontd_political. After Sarah Palin's partisan speech where she appealed only to the religious right, McCain delivers a speech talking about...bipartisanship. After Sarah Palin said Obama found the time to write two books but not one piece of legislation, McCain delivers a speech deriding Obama for supposedly writing legislation that gave oil companies tax breaks...UM WHAT? Did McCain write his speech in a cone of silence? Why didn't they make edits to his speech so that him and Palin could have one coherent message. Did he NOT listen to her speech last night? Did he forget what she said? Truly the evening left me confused. McCain was the only speaker during the convention to show some respect to Obama, in fact I thought most of his speech was inspired by Obama's acceptance speech. I mean McCain is now running on the CHANGE campaign slogan...once again WHAT THE FUCK? Whereas last night the audience reveled in grotesque delight at the red meat being thrown at them, they could barely muster any enthusiasm for McCain's speech which was interrupted twice by protestors, the crowd chanted U.S.A! to drown them out, but they also drowned out McCain and made him lose focus. Frankly I thought tonight was sad, I think McCain really does want to bring about the reform he talks about but I don't think it can be done by him and I don't think he can rally the Republican party to vote for him at the top of the ticket. Between his and Palin's speech I was left very confused, there is no coherent message in this campaign and they've got a matter of weeks, maybe not even that to get it together. She represents the far extremist right who revel in making fun of liberals, so called elitists and people realizing the American dream, not to mention demeaning people who perform community service, WHILE McCain at the end of his speech encouraged people to get involved in community service if they were unhappy with their government...once again my friends WHAT THE FUCK? Frankly after seeing her rally with such vitriol the other night and seeing the tepid response to McCain I think she's effectively rendered him politically impotent. She's the one everyone wants to talk to, she's the one the extreme Republicans want to support but she's also the person who got Obama a $10 million donation in ONE DAY. LOL. Once again Mccain has been won-up by the younger person in the race lol. From the cutaways that they showed of her tonight she didn't look particularly happy, that smug grin she had on her face last night was definitely no where to be found tonight. I wonder what's going on, did she read all the negative reactions to her speech? Did she see how she managed to rally the Obama base even more? Or maybe she was just mad she had to sit through this boring ass speech and feign enthusiasm although she didn't do that very well either. After the Democratic National Convention I was left with a sense of hope and a vision for the future of this country, as I said before the DNC seemed to represent the BEST of America. The Republican National Convention drew to a close last night and I can't tell you a single thing they have planned to do for this country. They acted as if they hadn't been in power for the last eight years and put us in this mess fighting two wars, in a trillion dollar debt and no respect abroad. All they did was bash Obama and his policies and offered no solutions of their own. The RNC seemed to represent only a White America (the delegates gathered there were 90% White, this doesn't reflect the diversity of this country), a negative America, one with no new ideas for the future, just MORE OF THE SAME. 3 :COMMENT?

Product Review # 2 [Sep0908] juhtima Here's the review I promised! Most of these items I bought online from sasa 1. Palgantong Theatrical loose powder in light beige- This was the number one loose powder brand in Japan until Chacott Professionals took it's place not too long ago. So hearing this, I had high expectations for it. Unfortunately, it's not too great. The packaging is ugly, it comes with a cheap puff. On the first day of trial I find that it doesn't last too long so I find myself having to reapply more often than when I use MAC Blot pressed powder. Also, it makes my face feel sticky and my concealer look cakey which totally defeats the purpose of a loose powder. Loose powders are supposed to refine/set your make-up and absorb excess sebum giving you a fresh and smooth appearance. I give this a 3/5 for not doing its job and I won't be buying this again. 2. Kanebo Media brow powder in DB-1- The packaging couldn't be cuter for this one, it's so convenient! This comes with 2 shades: a lighter shade that fills in sparse areas and a darker one to give you the appearance of longer or more arched eyebrows. I find myself gravitated towards the lighter color because my problem lies in sparseness. The colors match perfectly for my dark brown eyebrows. Anyway, the only thing I find wrong about this is that the brush is so tiny and the bristles aren't very skin friendly, but this problem is easily solved when using another, more suitable brow brush instead. 4.7/5 and hells to the yes I'd buy this again! 3. Cyber Colors Puff Puff blusher in hot pink- This product is so cute OMB! It's a loose powder blush that comes in a small container with a mirror on the lid and an attached sponge inside. The sponge fits the apples of my cheeks perfectly. Unlike other loose powder blushes that look garish/bright because I've applied too much (the result of an unsteady hand), the sponge prevents over-application so the result is always natural for me. This is very portable and a bonus: the container and sponge keeps it from getting messy in your make-up bag! 5/5 will buy again ^_^ That's all for now, hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed reviewing it = P 1 :COMMENT?

Vitriol [Sep0908] misatojaganshi [ mood | angry ] You know there are some women whom you look at and underestimate because of what's on the surface, but then they open their mouths and speak with intelligence, grace and poise and you come away with a different impression of them....Sarah Palin is NOT one of these women. In her speech she showed herself to be catty, sarcastic, condescending, unintelligent, and filled with HATE. The McCain campaign was saying how we were supposed to fall in love with this woman when she was finally able to speak for herself tonight, but I didn't fall in love. I saw a woman who has no policies, and no maturity. When people use snark as a means to win a debate it shows how shallow they are. The Republicans fucked this country for eight years so all they have to spiel is HATE rhetoric. They try and act like if it was the Democrats and liberals in charge this whole time that got us to where we are now because they can't stand to take a good luck in the mirror. These people call themselves believers of Christ but they're hypocrites to the highest degree, they show none of the love and respect of the entity they believe in. The fact that the audience at this event was 99.9% White people demeaning the accomplishments and education of a Black man with more class in his finger nail than any of them is something else. If the DNC showed the good of America, what we can hope for in the future then the RNC showed America's very dark underbelly. This is the contingency of Americans foreigners hate and think of it when they see ALL Americas. Republicans talk about fighting fundamentalist religious ideology abroad but fully embrace and elevate their own religios fundamentalist at home. Its ok if its Christian Fundamentalism because that is GODLY but any Muslim is completely evil. Sarah Palin demeaned and disrespected Obama to such a degree it is truly sad that he stood up for her and her family in the first place! She hasn't met this man yet she makes fun of his community service, apparently the only kind of service you can give to your country is military. How are all those people who depend on community service and service leaders themselves supposed to feel? How are the millions of people who lost their jobs and their houses supposed to feel after her childish speech? The Republicans have offered them NO SOLUTIONS to the shit this administration put the American people in. All the Republicans can do is point to the other guy and say HEY HE'LL BE WORSE THAN US! HE'LL RAISE YOUR TAXES WE SWEAR! GIVE US ANOTHER CHANCE! WE'RE PATRIOTS, LIBERALS HATE AMERICA! She talked about small town values and how great small town people were and made fun of "elitists" and educated people. People look down on small towns precisely because of short-sighted assholes like her. Republicans don't want kids pursuing higher education because they won't be able to convince them to enlist their lives into an army to fight an un-winnable war. They won't able to convince them with their hate rhetoric because these people would have learned to think for themselves and seen the bigger picture. Her speech made me realize why now more than EVER we need to HELP ELECT Barack Obama. We really need the hope, respect, intelligence, moral and family values he brings.
