Without having seen a single Doctor Who ep in my entire life (I will, I will, I promise - I can't even keep up with the fandoms I have now)... I have a theory. It has exactly zero percent chance of being true, but when has that ever stopped me?

A PG13, short theory that spoils everything up to Ep 3 and then totally ignores it.
