Just watched the third episode, and The Middleman is definitely my new candy show. You know, it's not deep -you can generally see plot events coming from a mile away- but it's done with gusto. It's fun, over-the-top, absolutely ridiculous and completely self-aware. Kind of like the Scrubs of the fight against paranormal menaces.
A brief aside: is anybody reading A Red Mass For Mars? I like it very much; the first issue alone was enough to give it an epic, sci-fish scope that's very interesting. I gather it's from the same creator of Pax Romana, another book I like/ed (but with a very slow publishing schedule).
Speaking of which, does anybody know if we are going to get Planetary #27 this year? I think it has been on Cassidy's hands for a few months now, and I'm getting itchy. I strongly suspect #27 is going to be far better than #26 (which was a bit of a letdown IMHO), even if we can already guess at least part of what Snow is going to do.

The Middleman is Torchwood. Only, you know, funny and competent, and with comic books references FTW.
I'm easy to please, I confess.
