Order of the Stick fucks with my heart yet again.Wherein
strip has, in my view, set Elan's dad as an absolutely fantastic character. If the previous strips showed him to be almost Vetinari's equal in strategic outlook, this one proves that he shares his son's innate understanding of the metatextual rules of the world they live in, together with a ruthlessly practical approach to self-affirmation. He's also very evil, of course, but evil with enough self- and world-awareness becomes something much more dangerous and compelling. The latest Order of the Stick
I just read Order of the Stick #-1, one of the prequel books of Order of the Stick. This one is focused on the bad guys, and it's really good. Don't let the art style and the RPG roots distract you: OotS has badass characters and surprisingly intense action, and it doesn't shy away from looking at the ethics and philosophy of things. Basically, it's the (web)comic version of a Terry Pratchett RPG-themed Discworld-like epic.
