Book #8: "El Caso de la Lampara Humeante": An Eric Stanley Gardner story. Neither his best nor his worst, but nice to pass away the time.

Book #9: "Estableciendo la agenda": Media and agenda-setting. How does it work? When does it work? When doesn't it? An interesting survey of existing research on the topic, quite nuanced and precise. Won't blow up your mind, but it's nice to get a better grasp of how these things work (part of my growing interest in politics, understood in its widest sense).

Book #10: "Aventuras de Allan Quatermain": Very White Man's Burden, of course, and problematic as hell, but I knew that going in. It doesn't disappoint.

Book #7: "El Legado de Roma": An analysis of different aspects of the influence of Rome in later Western Civilization. Incomplete and superficial, unavoidably, although in some aspects it covers a lot of the bibliophile, anecdotal detail I love to read about.

For future reference, books 1-6Collapse )
