    <content type="html">finnish relatives have arrived, the kentucky one is delirious from one hour of sleep. i'm sipping tea and feel like doing something wonderful just because it's FRIDAY! friday!!!! &lt;br /&gt;i don't remember the last time a day felt this wonderful.&lt;br /&gt;today was gentle compared to these past two rough weeks, which is good. maybe this persistant rain will finally stop and a little sunshine can come in and brighten our lives.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;my shoes are moved in, my bed is in pieces, but i should be truly settled in in no time. &lt;br /&gt;before im off again, of course.</content>

    <content type="html">marching band girls on bleecker stret today&lt;br /&gt;kind of sick, a couple of polaroid failures&lt;br /&gt;enjoyed convocation, enjoyed sleeping and watching the neverending story with el, enjoyed last nights three part party, one for the dance, two for the smoke, three for the roof. I was mostly on 1 and 3. &lt;br /&gt;new friends again and feet that hurt so badly by the end of the night&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;but then we danced in the taxi ride home, and that was ok&lt;br /&gt;today is a warm nostalgia for summer kind of day, with me listening to jacques brel and writing french analyses&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;in 2 hours i will be in the car, doing the obligatory college visit thing&lt;br /&gt;i have a hell-week in front of me, but i guess theres nothing to do except grit my teeth and smile</content>

    <content type="html">a monstrous melange of good friends and good weather left me riding the F, sticky and dozing into little intervals of bergen, east broadway, and finally west fourth. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;ignored the catfish (and mandala) call, soaked in a pool of built up exhaustion, woke to find that the &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;sun has poisoned me. with a venom that boils my blood and makes my cheeks glow and decides that tonight is a night for advil, oatmeal, and sleep.</content>

    <content type="html">greeley fest is over, maybe for good. too many intoxicated tussles and bad rap and coming home at an ungodly hour reeking of cigarettes. but that's what we tell each other summer is supposed to be. &lt;br /&gt;i'm to spend a week recuperating and purging the house of childhood leftovers and taking the future seriously (we hope). summer thunderstorms clear out the thick gray heat and lazy mood of the past few weeks,&lt;br /&gt;and also leaves an entire ocean in our garden, which i took off my shoes and waded through to get inside (my father stayed in the middle, picking out the leaves in our hoover dam of a drain).</content>

    <content type="html">forked oppurtunities sprung up from heated summer nights of wine down the dress that another girl was wearing (and making up childhood friends)-- went home feeling tired and dirty but a shower, half conscious church, brunch, and sleep the rest of the day cured all that and tonight was perfect:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;delicious food (meat and tuna and tomatoes and lots of fresh summer vegetables) in the garden with very many candles flickering in designs set up by our artist friend. we'd like to grow old with grace. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;this week suddenly shifted in two possible directions</content>

    <content type="html">i made some master shrimp last night, and tonight's dinner consisted of those leftovers, cheeses, cornichons, olives (with almonds inside), and artichoke hearts. mmmmmmmmmmmm&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;that said i also ate it at 9 o clock, hoping that the plans for tonight will turn out good and still in my pjs from my nap (i dreamt all these old swedish people were in my house, they spoke no english or finnish and one tried to bite my head.. but teasingly)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;yea everyone's away, but a lot of people come back tomorrow</content>
